The purpose of this study is to analyze the invention-related content of foreign science curricula and investigate the perception of science educators about the degree of relevance between science curriculum and invention. For the analysis of foreign science curricula, we investigated the programs of 10 nations, including the US, Canada, UK, Japan, Australia, Singapore, New Zealand, France, Finland and China. To analyze the relevance between Korean science curriculum and invention, we examined common topics such as science, integrated science, and science inquiry experiment, and investigated that the elements related to invention education were included in each 'achievement standard' and 'teaching and evaluation methods'. Science educators including science teachers were asked to evaluate the degree of relevance of invention education. The results were as follows. First, science curricula in many countries contained invention-related content. Second, science educators recognized that invention education was related to science curriculum, but the systematic connection was insufficient. Third, because it is mainly limited to the results of designing and device design, they recognized that the relevance of invention education, which focuses on various processes such as problem design, inventive techniques and intellectual property, was not revealed. Therefore, it is necessary to be process-oriented when developing invention education teaching-learning methods and related materials in science education for the future.

This study examined how practical reasoning processes were reflected in the revised consumer education of technology & home economics textbooks in secondary schools. Twenty-four textbooks from secondary schools for 7th to 10th grades were analyzed. Areas of textbooks analyzed were introduction, body content, learning activity, and evaluation. Analysis criteria were extracted from the previous literature regarding contents and questions dealing with practical reasoning processes and revised by a researcher of this paper. The results and conclusions of this study are as follows. The results of the analysis of the practical reasoning processes showed that, across all grades, "contexts" was the most common element, and "alternatives and means" was the second most common elements. The elements of "consequences", "action and reflection" were less represented in the textbooks, with the exception of the learning activity part. The types of practical reasoning process reflected were classified either as the entire process of reasoning being reflected or some of the process being reflected, or included in the body content. Most of these were some of the process being reflected. Since there were a lot of concept-oriented statements rather than questions, more practical reasoning questions should be developed to increase the reasoning process. In addition, a need exists to develop a variety of ways to utilize the entire practical reasoning processes in the textbooks to help teachers apply the practical reasoning processes to their lessons.
The purpose of this study was to development a model of the practical skill instruction of the special subject using the problem-based learning in the technical high schools For the study, various literature researches were reviewed intensively about problem solving process, problem -based learning, and learning principals. The process of the practical skill instruction using the problem-based learning was composed with planning, executing, testing and evaluating. In this practical skill instruction using the problem-based learning, the teacher serves as a coach or guide for students' learning. As a facilitator, the teacher challenges, questions, and stimulates the students in their thinking, problem solving and self-directed study. In this process, students represent problem by thinking aloud, assuming responsibility for their own learning, having self-directed study as well as doing cooperative study, and as a result, education changes move from teacher-centered to student-centered.
The purpose of this study is to develop the integrated curriculum for gifted elementary students based on ICM (Integrated Curriculum Model) and to apply it for analysis of the relationship between creativity and creative problem solving skills. An integrated curriculum for gifted students attending a university-affiliated institute was developed and applied to twenty mathematically gifted 5th and 6th grade students. TTCT language test and CAT test for students' products from activities were conducted. In addition, tape-recorded group discussions and activities during instruction, and interview with students and teacher, activity sheets were analyzed. As results, their language abilities shown TTCT test have been improved. Furthermore, the correlation between the test results of automata and language creativity, the average of two projects and language creativity, and future problem solving and the average of TTCT showed significant correlations. Results showed the gifted students' understanding of high level concepts and cooperation among groups were needed in order to improve creative problem solving. It suggested a further study research the integrated curriculum applying creativity and giftedness to real-life problem situations for gifted students to make them grow into essential competent persons in the future.

The objective of this study is to analyze problems and needs regarding recent education informatization in China and to seek implications for prospective international education cooperation between Korea and China. Toward this end, 76 individual and team reports submitted by Chinese trainees participated in APEC e-Learning Training Program from 2006 to 2013 were analyzed. The results are as follows. First, the most critical problem related to Chinese education informatization was identified as a lack of educational resources. The next three problems identified were, in order of importance, a lack of motivation to use ICT in education, the absence of a system for management and evaluation, and labor shortages in the supply of teachers and professional personnel. Second, with regard to the changing annual trends in China's education informatization needs, the issues of education/training and organizational environment to activate ICT use in education have been ranked high for the last eight years. In contrast, the matter of infrastructure has not been cited as a problem since 2008. However, more recently, the lack of relevant policy and the management and evaluation system have been raised, emphasizing the need for more systematic and professional policies and administrative systems.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of mobile phone use on university students' English reading achievement and consider the value and effectiveness of mobile phones as a learning tool. The study's subjects were students from a university in Seoul, who were divided into an experimental group (n=37) and a control group (n=43). The experimental group used various mobile phone functions-such as searching, recording, taking photos, using mobile apps, and community uploads-in reading class. The control group, on the other hand, focused on students' presentations and the professor's explanations. Two achievement tests and an open-ended questionnaire were administered. The results revealed that the experimental group scored higher than the control group, which showed a significant difference. In addition, the positive impacts of mobile phone use as reported in the questionnaire were interest and motivation, self-directed learning, and continuous learning beyond time and space. In order to foster efficient second language teaching and learning, learners and also teachers must be aware of the potential value of mobile phones as a learning tool. To encourage more active mobile phone use in the classroom, diverse and interesting class activities using mobile phones should be developed.
This study investigates the relationship between the social supports & the transformational leadership from career mentors and high school students' GRIT & career preparation behavior. The purpose of this study was to provide baseline data for Development of Career-program so that they can provide effective career advice to students, through analyzing preceding researches that highlight the impact from career mentors on students' GRIT and career preparation behavior. For this study, the questionnaires for students' GRIT & career preparation behavior were completed by 257 sophomore high school students participating in the career mentor program. also, This data was analyzed to find student's perception of social supports and transformational leadership from career mentors. Correlation analysis was used to investigate the relationship among four variable(GRIT, career preparation behavior, career mentor's social supports, career mentor's transformational leadership) and regression analysis was used to find the influence from the career mentor's social supports and career mentor's transformational leadership on student's GRIT & career preparation behavior. The result showed the change of students' GRIT & career preparation behavior have risen on average. Also, it showed the change of students' career preparation behavior is influenced by career mentor's emotional support, informational support and individualized consideration. Lastly, the change of students' GRIT is influenced by career mentor's emotional support, appraisal support and individualized consideration. This result was able to identify the relationship and influence of career mentor who were limited to social support by their parents and teachers. And, it suggests that the appropriate social supports need to be provided to students by understanding the type of social supports that meet student's expectations.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the teaching and learning process of physical computing using coding block for elementary gifted students in science. In order to obtain implications for teaching physical computing, we set the learning objectives from the Computer and Information Literacy Evaluation Standards developed by the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement(IEA) and developed a teaching and learning program for physical computing through collaboration between science education and computer education experts according to learning objectives. The developed program was related to the use of the coding block MODI(TM) and 32 classes of physical computing instruction were conducted for 15 students of the 4th to 6th grade who belong to an education institute for the gifted in science affiliated to the University. In the physical computing class, the teaching and learning process was analyzed by collecting data such as classroom videos, class observation logs, teacher and student questionnaires, and interviews. Based on the results of the study, the implications of the teaching and learning process of physical computing using the coded blocks in the school education field were suggested. And we also explored the strategy of expanding the computational thinking through the activities of coding instruction to realize creative ideas.
The OECD ITP project has looked at the black box of each participating countries' teacher education system. In the 2000s, various countries have tried to reform their professional development systems for teachers, including teacher education and induction, as an initial yet crucial step to improve the quality of education. Since 2015, OECD member countries have been conducting an international comparison study on teacher education and induction programs(i.e. ITP). The ITP project is an in-depth comparative study among the member countries that have expressed willingness to participate voluntarily. This paper introduces the progress of the ITP project and analyzed the national background report on the teacher education and induction system of the participating countries and compared the features of the systems. In addition, this study explores the common issues surrounding the teacher education and induction system. Moreover, the researcher has tried to derive some suggestions for improvement of teacher education and induction system in Korea.
It seems likely that the characteristics of future society will include an emphasis on diverse and expansive data sets and the use of AI technology. Because of this, school leaders within the traditional, textbook based educational framework there will be changes should meet the 2015 Revised National Curriculum and prepare students for future societies. The purpose of this research paper was to suggest the nature of and policies necessary for better educational processes in middle and high schools after they've been improved in accordance with the 2015 Revised National Curriculum. This paper implemented its survey and interview of school principals through the guidelines provided by UNESCO Bangkok's transversal competence research. Analysis results and research participants were practicing strengthened education in the course of their daily activities. The educators involved received positive evaluation from their students. Further, pedagogical opinions were suggested regarding the effects of school principals on various strengthened education elements. This paper's suggestions within the context of the 2015 Revised National Curriculum are expected to continue reinforcing the overall positive effect of the currently in practice strengthened education methods. Furthermore, it can contribute to the development of the next National Curriculum with empricial data.
