Design of Liberal Arts Subjects for Artificial Intelligence Education for Pre-Teachers in Elementary and Secondary Schools (초중등 예비교사의 인공지능 교육을 위한 교양 교과목 설계)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop an AI liberal arts subject for pre-service teachers of all majors in elementary and middle school. To this end, the main areas of the AI curriculum, sub-themes for each week, and activities were specifically designed and verified through two rounds of Delphi by 13 experts. The AI liberal arts curriculum in this study consists of three areas. Then, detailed topics for each week were confirmed, and a total of 13 weeks were arranged according to the natural flow. It was intended to help teaching and learning by arranging learning activities based on the experiential learning model according to the learning content. It is expected that this study will be used as basic data for the development of various AI education subjects for pre-service teachers in elementary and secondary schools in the future.

  • In this study, I investigated cases of operating Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) sustainable design courses based on interdisciplinary education for diverse design major students in the fashion design department. Through literature review, we examined the necessity of this course operation and analyzed the course through class design, execution, and operational results. Sustainable design courses were organized for 2nd to 4th-year students, promoting integrated learning for fashion design and various design majors to enhance interdisciplinary skills based on the in-depth study of SDGs issues. The educational content in the classes focused on the sustainable development goals achieved through upcycling design of waste PET bottle fibers developed by local industries, aiming to pursue sustainable values of designers through problem discovery and resolution. Students developed various upcycled products, evaluated metrics, and assessed satisfaction levels. Through this process, students gained an understanding of the practical value of SDGs, recognized the importance of sustainable development through design approaches for solving local issues, and acknowledged the significance of interdisciplinary education with various design majors.

An Investigation on the Reasoning Types of Mathematical Problems on the Content of 'Set and Statement' and 'Sequences' (수학 교과에서의 추론 유형의 문제에 관한 탐색 -집합과 명제, 수열 영역을 중심으로-)

  • Recently, mathematical reasoning has been considered as one of the most important mathematical thinking abilities to be established in school mathematics. This study is to investigate the mathematical problems on the content of 'Set and Statement' and 'Sequences' in high school according to the four types of reasoning, namely Making Conjectures, Investigating Conjectures, Developing Arguments, and Evaluating Arguments. Those types of reasoning were reconstructed based on Johnson's six types of reasoning suggested in 2010. The content is dealt with in 'Mathematics II' textbook developed and published according to the mathematics curriculum revised in 2009. The subject of this study is nine types of textbooks and mathematical problems in the textbook are consisted of as two parts of 'general problem' and 'evaluation problem'. Finally, the results of this study can be summarized as follow: First, it is stated that students be establishing a logical justification activity, the highest reasoning activity through dealing with the 'Developing Arguments' type of problems affluently in both 'Set and Statement' and 'Sequence' chapters of Mathematics II textbook. Second, it is mentioned that students have an chance to investigate conjectures and develop logical arguments in 'Set and Statement' chapter of Mathematics II textbook. In particular, whereas they have an chance to investigate conjectures and also develop arguments in 'Statement', the 'Set' chapter is given only an opportunity of developing arguments. Third, students are offered on an opportunity of reasoning that can make conjectures and develop logical arguments in 'Sequences' chapter of Mathematics II textbook. Fourth, Mathematics II textbook are geared to do activities that could evaluate arguments while dealing with the problems relevant to 'mathematical process' included in 'general problem'.

  • In order to develop education centered animation course, this study aims to research curricular that are equipped with industrial specialty based on the basic of visual arts. The subjects of the study were the international and domestic universities that have education goals of practical education, art education, and combined-typed education. The research was done by classifying curricular from basic course to advanced course. Production stage was divided into planning-production-follow up stage. The idea area was divided into three parts form basic emotion training to creativity development. This paper is focused on presenting to configure the basic features of the educational center for 4-year curriculum based on the course content and curriculum of international and domestic universities. The study of training course required for the configuration of the course of study focused on subjects which match the characteristics of major curriculum based on common subjects, major required courses, major electives were classified as the opening. As a result, It is difficult to lead common of educational contents because of the study of education-oriented curriculum and interdisciplinary educational goals of each university are different from other individual characteristics

  • In this study, new self-initiated peer tutoring is suggested to computer graphic's subject. Subject of computer graphics is practice based subject, therefore learning efficiency and learning level of students is different from each other. To improve the learning efficiency and enhance the interest of related subject, new peer tutoring activities was performed with main class in 6 months (including vacation). We analyzed the results of tutoring activities and conducted survey tutees. Results of the analysis and the survey were shown that students (tutees) are satisfied with and interested in the class of computer graphics.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop teaching-learning method for reading guidance librarians in Korean Library and Information Science. Even though it was an increase of needs for reading guidance librarians in libraries, reading education courses provided by LIS in Korea lacked. Also, most reading education courses of LIS stressed knowledge-oriented education than the practice of reading program design or reading experience. So this study developed the teaching-learning method of the self-directed learning for the activities of post-reading portfolio, management of reading program for motivation, and the team-projected learning for the design of reading program.

Development of the Contents of AI Convergence Education Method Subjects and Verification of Teaching Efficacy Effectiveness for Elementary and Secondary Teachers

  • In this paper, the needs and environment of the 'AI Convergence Education Method' were analyzed for elementary and secondary teachers, and based on this, teaching efficacy of informatics education was verified. For the research, elementary and secondary teachers who take the subject were selected, and based on the results of analyzing the general characteristics, pre-knowledge level, and needs of the subject, curriculum for 15 weeks was developed. As a result of verifying the teaching efficacy effectiveness of the developed 'AI Convergence Education Method' subject for 15 weeks, the effectiveness of the information education teaching efficacy was verified. Among the factors, there were statistically significant differences in information teaching values and information teaching strategies. In the future, it is necessary to conduct follow-up research to secure teachers' professionalism, such as linking with schools and convergence with other subjects. Various teaching and learning materials and teaching and learning methods such as educational contents and materials, reference literature, and artificial intelligence education platforms need to be prepared.

  • In this study, in order to analyze the AI convergence education courses of 38 graduate schools of education, the analysis frame was constructed in terms of basic subject classification, content field of subject, and detailed subject composition by field. And as a result of analysis through this frame, it was found that the number of subjects currently operated by these graduate schools of education is very different from 14 subjects to 48 subjects. Therefore, it was judged that it was urgent to develop a standard curriculum for the AI convergence education major operated by each graduate school of education for the same purpose. The AI Convergence Education Major, which was established for the same purpose and operated in different forms, will eventually produce teachers with different competencies, so there is a risk of bringing confusion to the direction of AI Convergence Education in the school field.

  • There is an increasing number of competency-based major courses organized and operated to develop various competencies. Here, competencies include key competencies/major competencies in the evaluation of basic competency diagnosis in universities, Program Outcomes of engineering education certification, and NCS competency units. The Ministry of Education's evaluation of basic university competency requires all major courses to be organized and operated to improve the major competency of the department, and major courses in the department that operates engineering education certification should be linked to Program Outcomes. Various types of competency-based major courses should be educated to improve related competencies, and educational performance should be measured by selecting a competency evaluation method that allows students to check the level of achievement in consideration of both the process and results of performance. Therefore, this paper examines the types of competency evaluation used to measure educational performance in major subjects related to competency, proposes an evaluation method that synthesizes and measures various types of competencies at the subject level, and presents examples of applying them to major subjects.

Analysis of Recognition Difference Regarding Informatics Textbook (정보 교과서에 대한 인식 차이의 분석)

  • In this paper, we examine the different viewpoints of teachers and undergraduates on middle school informatics textbook. For this research, a survey is conducted on middle school informatics teachers and undergraduates who are preparing the state examination for informatics-computer teachers. Items of the survey were chosen to investigate the level of completion on the contents and structure of the textbook and to examine overall satisfaction with the textbook. Seven items concerning the level of completion are based on national textbook authorization criteria. A t-test was performed to analyze meaningful difference in perception of textbook between the teacher and student groups. The result shows there is meaningful difference on two items which are 'compliance with informatics curriculum' and 'content selection and organization'.
