  • This study attempted to identify the health behaviors and related factors of lifestyle related diseases among some public officials. The study subjects were 729 administrative officers of the general public office of the government in D metropolitan city. The data collection was conducted by self-administered questionnaire from February 1 to March 31, 2016. As a result, the health behavior score for lifestyle related diseases showed a significant positive correlation with vulnerability, the effectiveness of health behavior and information obtained from the media about lifestyle-related diseases, while it showed a significant negative correlation with the barriers to health behaviors concerning lifestyle related diseases. As a result of the covariance structure analysis, vulnerability and seriousness about lifestyle related diseases were the most important factors affecting health behavior for lifestyle related diseases. The next most important factors were a family history of lifestyle related diseases, information obtained from the media, effectiveness of and barriers to health behavior, instrumental support, and emotional support. These results suggest that each factor constituting the Health Belief Model (HBM) (perceived vulnerability and seriousness about lifestyle related diseases, perceived effectiveness and barriers to health behaviors, family history of lifestyle related diseases, information obtained from the mass media about lifestyle related diseases, social support network for lifestyle related diseases) is an important factor to consider in practicing health behaviors for lifestyle related diseases. Therefore, it is important to accurately understand the factors related to the practice of the health behaviors of the subjects and to manage them continuously.

  • This study is intended to investigate the effects of customers' emotional response upon behavioral intention with taking customers who visited Korean restaurants into account. Luxury Korean restaurants where we apply to this study are selected by the food service industry association of Busan-metro city among the model restaurants. For this aim, designing a research model and drawing a hypothesis were carried out with a basis of advanced research. In data processing, SPSS win package 15.0 statistical program was used to verify the hypothesis through frequency analysis, reliability analysis, factor analysis, and regression analysis. The result of the analysis on the effects of physical environment factor upon domination among emotional response could be summed up as follows. Employee and geniality factors turned out to exercise a significant impact on domination, convenience and cleanliness turned out not to. The result of the analysis on the effects of physical environment factor upon arousal among emotional responses could be summed up as follows. Cleanliness and geniality factors turned out to exercise a significant impact on evocation, convenience while employee factor turned out not to. As a result of the analysis on the effects of emotional response upon behavioral intention, domination and evocation factors among emotional responses had a statistically significant impact upon behavioral intention. From the findings of the study, it became evident that dining-out customers might regard luxury Korean restaurants as a space for experiencing various emotions by physical environment rather than for dining and meeting for friendship. To induce emotional response is therefore expected to help a company to promote the practical improvement in achievement over various aspects such as behavioral intention.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the causality among GRDP, patent, investment of R &D, and researcher among 16 Metropolitan cities and provinces in Korea. Using the annual data ranged from 1998 to 2008, the causality test for time-series data such as unit roots test and Granger causality test were performed. We estimate the Panel-Var of the four variables to find out the various Granger causal relations for two groups which are classified by the patent productivity. The panel data causality results reveal that there are bidirectional causality relations among four variables for the more patent-productivity group. The patent has bi-directional effects on GRDP and R&D. The patent cause GRDP and vice versa, patent cause R&D and vice versa. Patent not only has strong direct impact on GRDP and R&D but also has affected by the increase of GRDP and R&D through the interactive feedback mechanism. However, the causality patterns are somewhat different between the more patent-productive region and the less patent-productive region. There exists one directional causality between the R&D and GRDP for the less patent-productivity group. Such result may imply that the type of regional innovation policy should be differentiated between two groups. Regional economic policy efforts should be placed on increasing the knowledge productivity and on strengthening the regional competitiveness through the regional innovative infrastructure.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop teaching learning process plans with problem-based learning using book-making applying to the "Dressing and Self Expression" unit and evaluate its effect in middle school home economics for first grade. We developed teaching learning process plans with problem-based learning using book-making including 9 teaching materials for teachers and 15 learning materials for students. Further, we conducted and investigated pre- and post-tests in a form of questionnaires in 167 students from a girls' middle school in Pusan. Teaching learning process plans with problem-based learning using book-making showed positive results in body satisfaction, such as reduction in distortion or less dissatisfaction regarding students' body images. Also, they were found to be less affected by sociocultural attitude towards appearance. The estimation of students included the positive contents that the class was interested with various materials and it provided them with a chance to understand their body. Meanwhile, minor comments pointed out lack of time and complained of the amount of assignments. With these results, we found that teaching learning process plans with problem-based learning using book-making was an appropriate model to achieve the purpose of this study and we suggested that this class might be applied to other units of middle school home economics.

  • This study constructed a prediction model based on covariance structure to identify the causal relationship between job stress, fatigue, burnout, and job satisfaction on turnover intention in nurses working in general hospitals. The study subjects were 648 nurses at a general hospital in D city. Data collection was surveyed by using self-administered questionnaires structured during the period from November 1, 2016 to December 31, 2016. As a result, the level of turnover intention was significantly higher in the group showing higher job stress, fatigue, and burnout and significantly higher in the group showing lower job satisfaction. The turnover intention of subjects showed a significant positive correlation with job stress, fatigue, and burnout but showed a negative correlation with job satisfaction. As a result of covariance structure analysis, job stress had greater influence on turnover intention than fatigue, burnout, and job satisfaction. Higher job stress, fatigue, and burnout and lower job satisfaction were associated with increased turnover intention. The results of this study show that the turnover intention of general hospital nurses is significantly related to job stress, fatigue, burnout, and job satisfaction. In particular, job stress had a greater effect on turnover than fatigue, burnout, and job satisfaction. Therefore, in order to lower the turnover intention of general hospital nurses, it is necessary to seek ways to mitigate job stress.

  • This study was conducted to establish and verify a theoretical model that explains the factors and pathways influencing the psychological well-being of nurses. The subjects of this study were nurses working in four general hospitals with over 200 beds in B city and G province. The results of verifying the path coefficient of the nurses' job rotation stress showed that job rotation stress had a significant effect on challenge stress, hindrance stress, and nurses' psychological well-being, while hindrance stress had a negative effect on nurses' psychological well-being. Nurses' job rotation stress had direct effects on challenge stress, hindrance stress, and psychological well-being. Hindrance stress had a direct effect on psychological well-being. In addition, nurses' job rotation stress had an indirect effect on psychological well-being through hindrance stress. Nurses who experienced job rotation showed challenge and hindrance stress. Since hindrance stress interferes with the psychological well-being of nurses, it is necessary to manage stress and make efforts in the nursing organization. Therefore, nursing organizations should establish a positive organizational environment and develop systematic strategies so that job rotation can be a challenging stress factor for nurses.
