An Education-Oriented Industry and University Collaboration Model : A Case Study of LG Electronics and Handong University (교육중심의 산학협동 모델 : LG전자와 한동대학교 사례를 중심으로)

  • We present a new collaboration model between industry and university through the case study of LG Electronics and Handong Global University. The aim of this education-oriented model is providing highly competitive engineers to the fields instead of accomplishing research projects or developing a new high-end technology. The proposed cooperation model is a win-win strategy for both academia and industry to have not only short-term but also long term benefits. We discuss how to develope and manage the demand-driven course which is the core program of our model. And we also evaluate the pros and cons of this collaboration model.

Development and Application of Theme-based Integrated Teaching/Learning Plan focused on Green Life of Clothing, Food, and Housing in Home Economics (가정교과내 의.식.주생활 영역의 주제중심 통합 교수.학습 과정안 개발 및 적용 - '가족의 생활'과 '가정생활의 실제' 단원의 녹색생활요소를 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this research is to develop a theme-based integrated teaching/learning plan in clothing, food, and housing in home economics and to apply the developed process in classes for evaluation in order to identify the suitability in schools. The theme-based integrated teaching/learning plan developed on the basis of textbooks consist four sub-themes; choosing($1^{st}$ and $2^{nd)$ lessons), using($3^{rd}$ lesson), processing ($4^{th}$ lesson), and alternatives($5^{th}$ and $6^{th}$ lessons) under the main theme of 'green family life'. The results from 20 individual and group activities showed that the students actively solved the problems when the presented cases were related to their own lives or experiences. The opportunity to implement green life through activities motivated students' willingness to proceed in real life. However, it is vital to assist integrated thinking through various examples before beginning due to students with difficulties connecting the issue from one area to the other during the problem-focused activity. The students' ability to solve the activity workbook had been improved as the lessons continued. From the survey questions on the theme-based integrated lessons, all items associated with integration of clothing, foods, and housing were positively responded. Also, questions regarding general understanding, suitability and satisfaction on the teaching/learning process were marked positive. The conclusion could be that the integrated theme related to clothing, food, and housing in our life would be appropriate for green family life. The theme-based integrated teaching/learning plan is effective in understanding the occurrence of green family life in relation with clothing, food, and housing, identifying the practical ideas implementing green life in those areas, and improving the integrated ability to solve the green life related problems. However, this research has its weakness in generalizing the results due to its limited survey respondents and post-evaluation being the only assessment conducted.

  • 본 연구는 대학원생의 연구 수행을 위한 학술적 역량 진단 및 평가를 기반으로 하여 성취 과정을 지원하는 대학원생의 표준 학술능력 진단평가 도입을 제안하고자함을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위하여 호주 시드니 대학교의 대학생 학업능력 진단평가 모델인 MASUS(Measuring the Academic Skills of University Students A Diagnostic Assessment)를 연구대상으로 선정하고 질적연구 방법 중 도구적(instrumental) 사례연구를 선택하였다. 이에 따라, 자료 수집 단계에서 시드니대학교 학습지원센터 관계자와의 반구조화된 면대면 인터뷰 및 문헌자료를 정보원으로 하여 자료를 분석함으로써 MASUS의 특징과 시사점을 도출하였다. 이를 기반으로 학문적 소양으로서의 글쓰기 능력의 의미와 중요성을 고찰하고, 이를 통해 대학원생 학술 역량 진단평가 도입의 당위성을 부여하였다. 본 연구를 통해 향후 모든 대학원에서 범용적으로 적용할 수 있는 객관적이고 신뢰도 높은 표준 진단평가 모델을 개발하여 긍정적인 진단문화를 형성할 수 있기를 바라는 바이다.

Comparison of Perception on Science Teacher Preparation Courses by Beginner and Experienced Science Teachers (과학교사양성과정에 대한 심층면담을 통한 경력과학교사들과 초임과학교사들의 인식 비교)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate beginner and experienced Korean science teachers' perceptions about the science teacher preparation courses from which they graduated, and to compare them. The study was conducted as a qualitative study using in-depth interviews. For the study, interview questions were developed by the authors based on the questionnaire of 'The IMPPACT project' that was being conducted in America. The interview tool includes questions about their experience of science subject matter content knowledge, science pedagogical content knowledge, and general pedagogical content knowledge in their preparation courses. For the interview, seven beginning science teachers, less than five years of teaching experience, and five experienced science teachers, more than five years of teaching experience, were sampled from secondary schools in Korea. The research results are as follows: First, most of the beginner and experienced science teachers perceived that the teaching methods in the classes of science subject matter were not good model for teaching science in their secondary school, because they were not diverse enough and entailed mostly knowledge transfer just through lecture without teacher-student interaction. Second, most of the beginner science teachers perceived that they were affected positively by the teaching strategies and evaluation methods in the classes for science pedagogical subject matter and they could apply those strategies and methods in their current science teaching. Lastly, most of the beginner and experienced science teachers perceived that general pedagogical subject matter is important and prerequisite for science teaching in their schools, but the courses that they experienced at their university were not appropriate for their current teaching.

Focus Group Interview for the Development of an In-service Educational Program on the Practical Problem Focused Home Economics Curriculum (포커스 그룹 인터뷰를 통한 실천적 문제 중심 가정과 교육과정 연수 프로그램에 대한 요구 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to get insights and data from home economics teachers for the development of an in-service educational program on practical problem focused home economics program, which was planned to be held from January 21st and to 29th, 2008. For this, focus group interview, one of qualitative research methods, was used. One session of pilot and three sessions of main focus group interview in which total of 18 from October 31st, 2007 to November 14, 2007. Home economics teachers that participated were carried out. Participants requested the followings contents of an in-service educational program regarding the practical problem focused home economics curriculum. First, most of participants strongly desired to participate in an in-service educational program when a program provided. The participants wanted to be a professional, who is able to explain logically with philosophical background and knowledge about the practical problem focused home economics curriculum. Second, participants requested the followings regarding practical problem focused home economics curriculum for the contents of an in-service educational program: philosophy of home economics, setting a perspective on each content areas, development of practical problem, watching a sample class unit, developing teaching materials and motivation stimulating questions, designing of instruction and lesson plans, class presentation and peer evaluation, constructing paper and pencil test items, and feedback from expects on the practical problem focused home economics curriculum. Third, participants wanted an in-service educational program to be a combination of theory and practice, and at least 50% of it allotted to practice. Participants thought that both peer participants and experts from university would evaluate them whether they achieved the objectives of the in-service educational program if an in-service program has to evaluate participants. Participants would evaluate an in-service educational program excellent when they become empowered to teach other home economics teachers the theoretical aspects of the practical problem focused home economics curriculum and the practical aspects as well. Based on the results of this study a framework of the 30 hours practical problem focused home economics curriculum was proposed.

  • During the past few decades, toxicity science is shifting from observative to predictive science. New approach methodologies (NAMs), including in chemico, in silico, in vitro approach, gain attention to reduce, refine, replace the whole animal toxicity testing. However, actual acceptances of NAMs in regulatory decision-making have been limited due to low confidence. To address the current constraints, Accelerating the Pace of Chemical Risk Assessment (APCRA) initiative conducted several case studies and presented the perspectives of next generation risk assessment (NGRA). In this review, we suggested a concept and perspectives of NGRA through analysis on APCRA case studies.

Multi-scalar Dynamics of Cluster Development: The Role of Policies in Three Korean Clusters (다규모 공간에서 클러스터 발전의 역동성 -한국의 클러스터 사례에서 국가정책의 역할을 중심으로-)

  • This paper critically examines cluster dynamics and development in a multi-scalar approach, criticizing both the argument overemphasizing local networks and endogenous development for regional development and the contention highlighting global networks and the role of global players. We argue that state policies, exogenous and direct, play a significant part in cluster dynamics and development especially in the case of Korea where the state government's strong policies have led to rapid industrialization. We analyze multi-scalar factors, especially the government policies at a national level, in the development paths of the three cases including Ulsan automobile cluster, Daedeok research cluster, and Dongdaemun fashion cluster.

논문·특허 분석 기반 이종 분야 공통기술 식별을 통한 융복합연구 전략수립 연구: 핵융합·가속기 공통부품 국산화 전략수립을 중심으로

  • 최근 연구개발(R&D) 관련 연구 주체 간 융복합 연구를 통한 신규 사업 발굴의 관심이 높아지고 있다. 이로 인해 융복합 신규 사업을 발굴하고 기획하는 것이 매우 중요해지고 있으며, 관련하여 이종 분야 간 융복합 분야 발굴을 위한 다양한 방법이 시도되고 있다. 본 논문은 논문 특허 정보 분석을 통해 기존 방법 대비 빠르게 공통 기술을 식별하고, 식별된 결과를 활용한 융복합 연구 전략 수립의 과정을 핵융합 가속기 공통 부품국산화 추진 전략 사례 연구를 통해 제시하고자 한다. 먼저 양 분야 간 어떤 기술들이 공통적으로 다루어지고 있는지를 논문 특허 분석으로 식별하기 위해 핵융합 가속기 분야를 중심으로 WoS(Web of Science) 논문 DB를 활용하여 두 분야 간 공통적으로 출현하는 색인(Index) 빈도수 분석 및 Thomson Innovation을 활용한 신규성(Novelty) 중심의 특허 분석을 수행하여 공통 기술을 식별하는 방법론을 제시하였다. 이렇게 도출된 공통기술 분야는 기술과 관련 산업체의 사상(寫像, mapping) 과정에 활용하여 국산화 추진 후보를 선별하였고, 기술경쟁력, 기술성숙도 등의 기술성 평가 수행으로 국산화 추진을 위한 최종 전략 분야를 선정하여 핵융합 가속기 공통기술 기반의 융복합 연구의 전략 수립 전 과정을 제시하였다.

Case study : Appication of PBL to Business Ethics Education in International Trade Curriculum (무역학 교육과정에서 PBL(문제중심학습)의 기업윤리 수업 적용 사례연구)

  • This paper presents an example of the introduction and operation of the PBL so that students can have the ability to apply the problems of corporate social responsibility and ethical values that must be considered by exporting companies or multinational companies, which are the main research subjects of business dynamics. As a result, students were able to broaden their views through self-directed classes and presentations, listen to and share opinions of other students through discussions, and were able to take a logical approach to judgment standards involved in specific corporate activities, showing that the PBL teaching method is effectively applied to business ethics classes.

DEA모형을 이용한 공공기관 효율성분석에 관한 사례연구: 일선우체국을 중심으로

  • 효율성은 산출물의 가치와 그 산출물을 창출해 내기 위해 생산과정에서 소비한 투입물 가치의 비율로 나타낸다 투입물이나 산출물의 시장가격이 존재하는 경우 이 값을 가중치로 이용하여 산출물과 투입물의 가치를 계산할 수 있다. 그러나 투입물과 산출물의 종류가 다양한 경우에는 투입물의 가치를 적절히 평가하기가 쉽지 않다. Data Envelopment Analysis(DEA)모형은 효율성을 여러 가지 투입물의 가중평균에 대한 여러 가지 산출요소의 가중평균의 비율로 표시하며, 특정 의사결정단위의 효율성 정도는 유사한 투입 산출구조를 가지는 준거집단과 비교하여 상대적으로 측정하고자 하는 방법이다. 본 논문에서는 DEA모형의 구조와 이론적 근거, 그리고 적용상의 장단점에 대해 알아 본 뒤 국내 일선우체국의 운영자료를 토대로 하여 공공적인 성격을 띠는 기관의 운영효율성 측정에의 적용사례를 제시하였다. 투입자료로는 '98년 우정사업자료를 중심으로 공통영업비, 우편영업비, 금융영업비, 직원수, 관할가구수, 관할면적, 고정자산 등 7개 변수와 우편영업수익, 금융영업수익, 보험수지차, 배달 및 중계 우편물량, 현금출납 취급건수, 연평잔실적의 6개 변수를 각각 투입물과 산출물 변수로 설정하여 모형을 구축하였다. 분석대상으로 삼은 64개 우체국 전체의 효율성 평균은 82.14%으로 나타났으며 DEA모형의 효율성결과와 기존에 이미 발표된 정보통신부 평가결과와의 상관관계는 0.46291로 강하지는 않지만 두 변수간에는 정(正)의 상관관계가 있음을 알 수 있었다.
