  • This Study analyzes dynamic of a puzzle game play by applying entropy law. Entropy is a concept that a quantitative measure of the amount of thermal energy not available to do work in a closed system. And amount of entropy can be measured only if we see the closed system as whole, the field. Puzzle game is also closed system. When player moves an object in game, it change a relationship among objects in play field. In , through an act of position change, player sustains a play field active. In respect of an entropy, this kind of play is considered as pursue of usability of the energy. In , player piles up objects without empty space. In respect of an entropy, this kind of play is considered as pursue of the order. Likewise, puzzle game play can be considered as simulation of a human's pursue of the order in an entropy increasing physical world. And this pursue is a driving force of puzzle game play.

  • Player experience study includes the behavior and psychological responses of player to game content. And, it focuses on the player's aesthetic experience for specific game elements rather than comprehensive game experiences. This paper presents the player's aesthetic experience data derived from the gameplay process as a code, and analyzes the aesthetic experience data by player experience level for adventure games. These researching results might complement the limitations of existing game analysis research, and provide practical data which creator could apply at the design stage of game.

  • The Purpose of this study is to analyze the mechanism of permanent death and playing aspects in Rogue-like games. The death in digital game is not only punishment of failure, but reward for player's growth. However the mechanism of permanent death which does not allow to resurrect is critical penalty for players and causes play-cycle with high anxiety. In the mechanism of permanent death, players do critical play to evade the death. But when they replay the game they modify their unethical choices to build alternative game world. Through the mechanism of permanent death which demands critical and alternative play, it could be possible to find the way to design games with serious choice.

  • To identify characteristics of social network farm game based on smart phone platform, this study analyzed how social network play experience connects with the space of farm game. The play experience of social network farm game based on smart phone platform is mainly composed of three modules for cultivating, placing environment, extending space. This study categorized space for external perspective space, internal perspective space, symbolic design space according to space experience theory and researched play experience in these spaces. In farm game players perceive space by fixed point of view, and make their own space a standard unit for reinterpreting and rearranging modules. In this process the space played subjective role not only background to bring co-work play is essential in social network game.

  • Digital game is an entertainment content as well as a cultural content so that digital game can deliver social messages to make people confront with current problems. Based on Gonzalo Frasca's expanded model theory, this study aims to analyze independent games parodying reality on the level of the narrative and the gameplay to demonstrate that digital game can be a powerful medium to represent a satire on society. Parody games describe irrational side of society as being comical and provoke players' repetitive gameplay. Therefore, players can experience serious theme through casual play in the first-person, and realize the tragic reality directly.

  • The learning by computer games, is in the spotlight as an effective education method for the game generation. The current design methods for educational games is to design all needed game elements and learning elements which should be included in. So to design an educational game for motivation and learning effects, is generally difficult. In this paper, we propose the G-learning model IGLM which is interworked with gameplay and learning play by motivation mechanism, in order to solve the difficult problem. The comparative analysis of the proposed model IGLM on the design difficulty with the current design methods for educational games or G-learning, shows the proposed method can be a solution of the design difficult problem and is the best on the difficulty of, the freedom of, and the scope of designing the component parts of educational games or G-learning.

  • Games of the AOS genre are classified as an e-sport rather than a recreational computer game. The involved statistical analyses such as game playing patterns and the season's characters gain importance due to the expertise-requiring nature of sports. In this study, the strategic analysis of computer games was conducted by using data mining techniques on League of Legend, a representative AOS game. We designed and tested a winning forecast model using winning percentage prediction techniques such as logistic regression analysis, discriminant analysis, and artificial neural networks. The game data analysis results were represented by a probabilistic graph and used in the visualization tool for game play. Experimental results of the winning forecast model showed a high classification rate of 95% on average with potential for use in establishing various strategies for game play with the visualization tool.

  • In a game, the visual environment element is a means of expressing the intention of the developer, and is mediums that enable the player to gain to play experience of interaction. In this paper, the player's reaction to the visual environmental elements of the adventure game was patterned with a collection and analysis process by empirical experiments. The data collected through the experiment were about 10,000, and as a result of the analysis, 24 types of player reaction patterns were found in total. This can be used as a guideline for game space design by matching the properties of visual environment elements and the reactions against players occurring in the game play process to examine the play experience.

  • It has been a year since the $Pok{\acute{e}}monGo$ has been released. Over the past year, the $Pok{\acute{e}}monGo$ have become a social phenomenon. This study analyzes the dual characteristics play of the original $Pok{\acute{e}}mon$ game. The Pocket Monster game, which has both casual and hardcore capabilities, has a broader player base and enjoys popularity for 20 years, satisfying the requirement of easy and convenient access, which is an advantage of casual games. In addition, the rating battle system of $Pok{\acute{e}}mon$ game turns casual play into hardcore play. In this paper, we analyze the dual play characteristics of longevity games such as Pocket Monsters, and propose strategies and directions for game development that can survive long term in the competitive game market.
