  • The purpose of this study was to investigate and analyze the correlations between the knowledge of, attitudes toward, and service requirements for dementia among nursing students. A descriptive study design was used. The participants were 584 nursing students attending K university. The collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, the t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test, and Pearson's correlation coefficients using the IBM SPSS 21.0 program. The mean score of dementia knowledge was low($15.86{\pm}4.58$). The area with the highest correct answer rate for dementia knowledge was life impact(64.2%) and the disease progression area(39.6%) was the lowest. The attitude toward dementia ($45.15{\pm}4.59$) and service requirements($89.88{\pm}9.38$) were relatively high. There were positive correlations between dementia knowledge and dementia attitude(r=.11, p=.008) and service requirements(r=.21, p<.001) and between dementia attitude and service requirements(r=.34, p<.001). Therefore, accurate knowledge of dementia was closely related to positive attitudes. In conclusion, this studyis expected to provide the basic data for the development, application and evaluation of dementia education programs for nursing students.

Their posttraumatic growth was scored 2.63 out of 5 on average. The contents of traumatic experiences were 'Violence experienced by medical staff','Negative perception of nursing care','Non-Educational Practical Environment' Clinical practice in a harsh environment, Witness of a serious patient, et al. The findings can be used as important basic data for the development of nursing practice education program for encouraging the posttraumatic growth of nursing students.

Using the data collected, descriptive statistics, T-test and one-way ANOVA were implemented. As a result, the student nurses, who had heard about the Personal Information Protection Act showed a significantly higher awareness score of patient's personal information protection behavior than those who did not. The respondents educated in personal information protection were reported to have a higher score of awareness about the patient's personal information protection behavior. In this regard, it is vital for university organizers to develop education associated with ethics and information security, which could enhance the perceptions of personal information protection for student nurses before their working career begins.

  • The purpose of this study is to find out the impact of classes using a game-based student response system on learning engagement. It is an experimental study that compares learning engagement in classes (experimental groups) and lecture-style classes (comparative groups) that utilize GSRS in nursing education. A total of 211 nursing students participated from October 2019 to December 2019. The differences in learning engagement between the two groups were analyzed as t-test and correlation analysis was conducted on related factors. There was a difference between the comparison group and the experimental group in overall learning engagement(p=.013) and emotional engagement(p=.002). This is meaningful in that it has verified the learning engagement effect of the GSRS for the first time in Korea.
