  • In this paper, we consider the problem of robust peak-to-peak controller design of linear system. The goal is to design a controller which minimizes the maximum peak value of the measured output subjects to the peak bounded disturbance. The control is obtained by checking the feasibility of the derived matrix inequalities. Finally, we shows the usefulness of our result comparing to $H_{\infty}$ and $H_{2}$ control by an example.

  • This paper deals with an exit strip gauge controller design for a cold rolling mill process with one input and two outputs. In order to attenuate the exit strip gauge variation caused by the Back-up roll eccentricity and the entry guage variation, an H$_{\infty}$ controller design methodology is used to keep the frequency weighted mixed sensitivity function small. Effectiveness of the proposed controller is demonstrated by a computer simulation..

  • In this paper, slack is computed from a comparison of the cable pay out rate and the ship ground speed in accordance with laying conditions, and the speed controller of the cable engine based on an H(sub)$\infty$ servo control id designed for adjusting the cable engine in order to lay a desired amount of slack. The controller is designed for robust tracking of the cable engine under disturbances. The performance of the designed controller is evaluated by computer simulation, and, consequently, a feasibility study for laying the submarine cable stably is done through analyzing simulation results.

  • To enable a master-slave control independent microgrid system (MSCIMGS) to supply electricity continuously, the microgrid inverter should perform mode transfer between grid-connected and islanding operations. Transient oscillations should be reduced during transfer to effectively conduct a seamless mode transfer. This study uses a typical MSCIMGS as an example and improves the mode transfer strategy in three aspects: (1) adopts a status-tracking algorithm to improve the switching strategy of the outer loop, (2) uses the voltage magnitude and phase pre-synchronization algorithm to reduce transient shock at the time of grid connection, and (3) applies the hybrid-sensitivity $H_{\infty}$ robust controller instead of the current inner loop to improve the robustness of the controller. Simulations and experiments show that the proposed strategy is more practical than the traditional proportional-derivative control mode transfer and effective in reducing voltage and current oscillations during the transfer period.

  • We report on the design of a three-axis missile autopilot using multi-objective control synthesis via linear matrix inequality techniques. This autopilot design guarantees $H_2/H_{\infty}$ performance criteria for a set of finite linear models. These models are linearized at different aerodynamic roll angle conditions over the flight envelope to capture uncertainties that occur in the high-angle-of-attack regime. Simulation results are presented for different aerodynamic roll angle variations and show that the performance of the controller is very satisfactory.

  • 본 논문에서는 연속시간과 이산시간에서 파라미터 불확실성과 시간지연을 가지는 비선형시스템에 대한 퍼지 견실 H∞ 제어기 설계방법을 제시한다. 비선형시스템은 변형한 T-S(Takagi- Sugeno) 퍼지모델을 사용하여 나타내고, 퍼지제어는 PDC(parallel distributed compensation) 개념을 이용한다.

  • This paper presents a robust controller design approach for improving vehicle dynamic roll motion performance and guaranteeing the closed-loop system stability in spite of vehicle parameter variations resulting from aging elements, loading patterns, and driving conditions, etc. The designed controller is linear parameter-varying (LPV) in terms of the time-varying parameters; its control objective is to minimise the $H_{\infty}$ performance from the steering input to the roll angle while satisfying the closed-loop pole placement constraint such that the optimal dynamic roll motion performance is achieved and robust stability is guaranteed. The sufficient conditions for designing such a controller are given as a finite number of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Numerical simulation using the three-degree-of-freedom (3-DOF) yaw-roll vehicle model is presented. It shows that the designed controller can effectively improve the vehicle dynamic roll angle response during J-turn or fishhook maneuver when the vehicle's forward velocity and the roll stiffness are varied significantly.

  • This paper describes a state feedback controller design method of the integral type magnetic levitation servo system which satisfies the design objectives. The design objective is a $H_{\infty}$ performance, asymptotic disturbance rejection and a robust pole assignment in linear matrix inequality(LMI) region. To the end, we investigated the validity of the designed controller which considering a robust pole assignment region, through results of simulation.

  • This note considers the $H^{\infty}$ controller design problem for linear systems with time-varying delays in states. We obtain sufficient conditions for the existence of k-th order $H^{\infty}$ controllers in terms of three linear matrix ineualities(LMIs). These sufficient conditions are dependent on the maximum value of the time derivative of time-varying delay. Furthermore, we briefly explain how to construct such controllers from the positive definite solutions of their LMIs and give an example.e.
