The recent development of information technology in general and consolidation of communications and multimedia technology in particular have brought enormous changes in education and training methods in many business organizations. Numerous studies in the education engineering field report that teaching using multimedia technologies will more enhance the education/training performance than the traditional instructor-teaching method. However, in the management information systems field, few studies are found which directly investigated effects of multimedia technologies on education and training. None of multimedia-related studies can be found in the top-ranked MIS journals published in Korea for the last five years, and only a few stuides are found even worldwide. The major steps of the current research are as follows. First, in order to identify important factors constituting the effectiveness of multimedia systems, previous research related to the effectiveness of multimedia systems was reviewed and analyzed. Second, individual items which can be considered as candidates to represent the effectiveness of multimedia systems were derived from this previous research review, and a survey questionnaire was developed using those derived items. Based on the developed survey questionnaire, a pretest was administered at several domestic business firms with experiences of multimedia systems. Third, survey questionnaires were distributed to and collected from the 517 employees which experienced using multimedia systems.

Most organization are using E-mail(electronic mail) currently, but we seldom see the organizational success from the E-mail utilization strategically. There are many research which are focusing on the selection and usage of E-mail as a electronic communication media based on Information Richness Theory and Critical Social Theory. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects by using E-mail through providing the model of perceived impacts. This model considers the moderate factors such as top management supports, organizational usage, and organizational pressure based on CST. Also it provides the guideline how to use E-mail strategically.

본 연구는 객체지향 기술채택에 영향을 미치는 요인을 조사했다. 한가지의 중요한 연구 의문을 제시했다: 무엇이 객체지향 기술의 채택에 중요하게 영향을 미치는가? 본 연구는 객체지향 기술의 실제 사용정도에 영향을 주는 독립변수를 연구했다. 그 독립변수는 다음과 같은 세 가지 범주로 분류된다: (1) 개인적 요인: 구조지향 방법론을 사용한 경험, 새로운 기술에 대한 개방 정도: (2) 관리적 요인: 경영층의 지원 정도, 훈련, (3) 조직적/환경 요인: 부서와 조직에 있는 정보시스템 전문가의 수, 기술 챔피언에 대한 접근 용이성, 객체지향 기술을 지원하는 소프트웨어 및 하드웨어 환경. 설문지를 이용하여 위에서 언급된 독립변수들이 하나의 독립변수, 즉 객체지향 기술의 실제 사용정도에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 그 구조화된 설문지가 미국에 있는 DPMA(Data Processing Management Association)에 소속된 정보시스템 전문가에게 돌려졌다. 본 연구는 기존의 연구 결과와 일치하는 중요한 내용을 보여 주었다. 새로운 기술에 대한 개인의 개방성, 경영층의 지원정도, 훈련, 그리고 하드웨어 및 소프트웨어 환경은 객체지향 기술의 사용과 밀접한 관련이 있었다. 본 연구는 또 조직에서의 객체지향기술의 초기 채택을 이해하는 실증적인 근거를 제시하였다.

The purpose of this paper is to study the current status of Y2K settlement in korean business firms. To accomplish the purpose of this paper effectively, first of all, theoretical background of Y2K was reviewed briefly. Second, research hypotheses and methodology were discussed with the following topics: (1) research hypotheses (2) operational definitions of variables (3) survey population (4) data collection method (5) data analysis method. Third, current status and problems of Y2K problems were investigated in detail with the following areas: (1) characteristics of samples (2) comparisons of Y2K settlement by business area (3) comparisons of Y2K settlement by firm sizes (4) comparisons of Y2K settlement by degree of information systems (5) effective ways of settling Y2K problems Finally, this paper was summarized and future research directions were suggested briefly.

Recently, searching agent systems to help purchase of products between business and customer have been actively studied in Electronic Commerce(EC). However, the most of comparative searching agent systems are only provided customers with searching results by the keyword-based search, and is not support the efficient decision models to be selected products considering the customer's requirements. This paper proposes the decision agent system applied decision model as well as searching functions based on the keyword-input to be selected useful products in EC. The proposed decision agent system is consist of the user interface, provider interface, decision model. Especially, as the example of the decision model, this paper is designed and implemented the prototype of decision agent system which is normalized the searching data and value of customer's preference weight as to each attribute, and orderly provided customers with computed results. This agent system is also carried out sensitive analysis according to the reflection ratio of the each attribute.

본 연구는 글로벌하고 분산된 환경하에서 다중 에이전트에 기반한 공급업자선정과 이를 통한 글로벌 제조를 위한 프레임웍을 구축하고자 하였다. 에이전트 시스템을 위해서는 KQML에 기반을 둔 메시지 전달 시스템에 근거하여 에이전트 통신 계층, 메시지 계층 및 내용서술계층으로 구분하였다. 또한 분산된 객체간에 클라이언트간의 통신을 위해서는 고정된 인터넷 프로토콜의 주소를 없어도 통신이 가능하도록 OLE automation 서버와 ORB 를 이용하여 시스템을 구축하였다. 시스템 구현을 위해서는 스포츠용 신발을 주로 수출하는 중소기업의 업무를 대상으로 하여 정해진 생산계획에 대하여 관련 부품을 생산 납품할 수 있는 외부 공급자를 선정하는 업무에 대하여 프로토 타입을 만들어서 시험하였다. 네트웍 시설이 열악한 동남아 등지에 협력업체를 많이 보유하고 있는 한국의 섬유분야나 신발산업 같은 분야에 있어서 본 시스템의 활용 가능성이 기대된다.

A great number of companies are currently examining the opportunities made available through the internet. This research aims to identify the factors that influence the adoption of the internet market. The innovation-IT-diffusion theory provide the theoretical foundation for this study. Seven factors were found to influence the adoption level of the internet market. They are top management support, cost efficiency, inclination toward new technology, absorptive capacity, institutional support, competitors move and customer pressure. Nonparametric test was used to test hypotheses. The results shows that top management support is the most important factor, and institutional support is not related to the adoption of the internet market.

There are still occurring aviation accidents in spite of great preventing efforts all over the world. This paper contains some methods to prevent aircrafts deficiencies and accidents. First part of this paper refers to the background of those aviation deficiencies on mechanical, human and environment structures which influence directly to the air accidents and general survey on various theories of the aircraft's systems. On the way we discussed the general situations of the air tool's deficiencies which cause tragic accidents to the human lives and assets. After analysis on the situations we suggest the new systems which would forecast more detail accuracies concerned air elements for the safety flying. Then we introduce the following new systems resulting from the forecasting which can solve problems on aircraft deficiencies and complex interrelationships among air accidental factors. To simplify the complex systems, we needed to build the mechanical and organizational database for maintaining the procedures of the past troubleshooting on the major parts preventing deficiencies of those mechanical units. These suggested systems will contribute a great deal of aids, the maintenance credibility and air safety for the air operations and all customers in the world. Avoiding the past troubleshooting from just by using simple systems which can forecast main causes of the units and parts of the crafts, this system will be able to provide excellent management tools for the promoting aviational industries. The comfortable and convenient air operations are very valuable works, and the scientific method and detail maintenance will improve our daily air life by minimizing accidents. Adapting these developing systems, for the forecasting aircraft deficiencies and accidents can be integrated with the other aircraft management systems to promote more air safety in the world. This study is focused to eliminating aircraft accidents through forecasting deficiency symptom procedures by relational coordinations among all of the systems. Futhermore we need continuously detailed analysis and study for eliminating air accidents all together those who work in those fields.

The overall objective of this study is to empirically investigate organizational/managerial factors affecting system development team operation. The contributions of this research project are two-fold. First, this study examined various organizational/managerial factors that made team operation successful. Second, we presented the key success factors among the identified success factors of team operation. A field investigation of 68 system development teams located around YoungNam area indicates that motivation, leadership and egalitarian team culture are success factors of team operation. Especially, key success factors are leadership and egalitarian team culture.
