The purpose of this study is to suggest a model plan for a mini school using the lower part of the apartment. In order to reach this model, firstly, the existing condition of over populated schools is analyzed, secondly, the Proper size and planning module for a mini school are suggested through the analysis of 7th national curriculum for the education, and thirdly, the model plan for a mini school is suggested using the apartment under construction. Mini school will be expected to solve the problems from over populated schools, and enhance the educational effect for the primary students.

The purpose of this study is to establish the objective deterioration grades and evaluation criteria of building equipment system of educational facilities available for reasonable maintenance and remodeling of them. For the purpose of it, the actual conditions of building equipment systems of the 148 buildings of 84 middle and high schools in Seoul 20 years after construction are investigated and surveyed through one-on-one interviews and questionnaires. And, deterioration grades of them are estimated by the evaluation criteria which is proposed in this study. As a result of this study, the 10 deterioration grades and the 4 evaluation criteria of the 6 performances of building equipment system, which are heating and cooling, water supply and drainage, hot water supply and electrical power performance, are suggested. And, as a result of the survey, it showed that 24% of the investigated school buildings were estimated C grade which needs partial remodelling, and 51% of the school buildings were estimated D grade which needs extensive remodelling. And, 25% of the school buildings were estimated E grade which needs overall remodelling or alteration of building equipment system.

There is a new demand for functional sharing between existing schools and neighbouring community facilities. This study is to find out the priority of the existing schools at Nowon District for functional sharing development. Most schools are located geographically near the highly populated residential district. The development will be a form of multi-use school complex. The process starts with selecting the schools located in the center of local community. Since the school facilities occupies the relatively enough space, it is possible to expand other functions for the neighbouring communities. Accordingly many citizens can utilize them because of their greater activities. This study is based on the investigation and the analysis of actual situations related to the complex development of school facilities. As a result the suitable candidate schools for the multi-use development are listed under the searched conditions.

This study is about an analysis of the relation between the degree of cognition of student's acts within limits when coping with several types of disaster and the degree of cognition of damage by disasters in the method of multiple regression analysis. The dependent variable is the degree of cognition of student's acts within limits and the independent variable is the degree of cognition of damage by disasters such as heavy snow, typhoon, heavy rain, heat, and yellow sand. A survey of graduates of metropolitan area high-schools has found that there are no difference between girls and boys of the degree of cognition of student's acts within limits when coping with disasters. This study finds that the independent variable, which are playgrounds, animals and plants, streets and roads, altitude and incline, gives positive effect to the degree of cognition of student's acts within limits when coping with typhoon or heavy rain in order. The study also finds that the degree of cognition of student's acts within limits when coping with heavy snow is affected positively by streets and roads, playgrounds, altitude and incline in order. It also shows that there are factors that has an effect to the degree of cognition of student's acts within limits when coping with yellow sand and heat. This study proposes suggestions to facility plans based on these facts discovered.
