The purpose of this study is to understand and analyze characteristics of using pattern on the physical facilities and fundamental demands about improving factors associated with management of variation type. The teachers of four middle schools are participated through questionnaires with this survey. According to the results, supplemental factors of learning activities, convenient facilities for students, factors with space utilization, moving class and arrangement of similar subject blocks are influential in order on the awareness of teachers for correspondence of variation type. In the analysis of variance based on the sampling factors, significant differences were shown in the factors of attached group, gender, age and managemental experience of variation type. Especially, the factors with moving class and convenient facilities for students are analytically more differential than the other factors, therefore, these factors must be considered in detail.

The idea of the school networks for joint venture and use of school facilities is forming and using an organic network of schools that will communally share a group of facilities that are uniquely appropriate for each schools. Focused on two prominent cities of Northern Choongnam province, Cheonan and Asan city, the objective of this study is to present and exhibit the plans for joint venture and use of school facilities, and to use them as an example for other provincial cities within the nation where such renovation may be possible. The school networks is proposed based on units of 1 km radius around each site, that is named as small school network, in order to ease the communal use of the sidewalks by the residents and the facilities by the nearby schools. In Cheonan city, six small school networks were proposed, which will supply three to four elementary schools for an average of 50,000 people. On the other hand, Asan city, which showed shortages of elementary schools, three small school networks including the middle and high schools in addition to the elementary schools were proposed, that will provide three to six schools for an average of 30,000 people.

This paper is to propose a design possibility that incorporates participatory process and also to emphasize the participatory process applied to the planning of outdoor playground space open to the neighboring community. Community design based on the participation method can be understood as an attitude about a force for change in the creation and management of environments for people who are the major users of them. Planning for outdoor space is an integral part of school education and a vital component of child development. For the design of outdoor space of Samyang Elementary School it first needs to examine the current and emerging needs of students, teachers and parents as community residents through the participatory design method. A series of workshops and interviews are taken to identify dreams and ideal spaces of each group. An assessment of existing school spaces and design possibility of reprogrammed outdoor spaces are proposed to match the major demands of participants. Selected outdoor places are chosen and designed to accommodate options for various play settings and to make the school pleasant places where members of the neighborhood can gather for relaxation in restful surroundings.
