We performed this study to determine the effect of Bu-Zhong-Yi-Qi-Tang, as a prescription of traditional Oriental medicine, and its major ingredients on jejunal crypt survival, endogenous spleen colony formation, and apoptosis in jejunal crypt cells of mice irradiated with high and low dose of r-radiation. Bu-Zhong-Yi-Qi-Tang administration before irradiation protected the jejunal crypts (p<0.0001), increased the formation of endogenous spleen colony (p<0.05) and reduced the frequency of radiation-induced apoptosis (p<0.05). In 1189's ZhongXiuZhengHuoJingShiZhengLeiBeiYongBenCao(重修政和經史證類備用本草), we took a look at the medicinal herbs that mentioned JoSeon(朝 鮮), GoRyeo(高麗), BaekJe(百濟), SinRa(新羅), DongIn(東人), DongHae(東海), YoDong(遼東), and BalHae(渤海). In the face of Korea's Oriental medicine's reality of having medical texts only after the 2nd half of the GoRyeo(高麗) Dynasty, this study will provide the basis of finding the origin of Indigenous Herbal Medical Science that was founded in the late-GoRyeo(高麗), early-JoSeon(朝鮮) period.

The purpose of this study is an evaluation of the performance of a detector under radiographic irradiation condition by fabricating the polycrystalline $HgI_2$ film detector. The polycrystalline $HgI_2$ film detectors with thickness of 210 and $320\;{\mu}m$ were fabricated by screen print technology. Measurements of X-ray sensitivity and dark current were performed for two detectors. And measurements of the linearity of X-ray response and reproducibility were performed for the detector of thickness $320\;{\mu}m$. For applied electric field strengths from 0.05 to $2\;V/{\mu}m$ to the detector of thickness $320\;{\mu}m$, the X-ray sensitivities were measured from 233 to $1,408{\times}106\;electrons/mR{\cdot}mm^2$. And the dark currents were measured from 3.2 to $118\;pA/mm^2$. Compared with values reported by Zhong Su et al., the X-ray sensitivities exhibit about two times larger than the X-ray sensitivities measured by Zhong Su et al. And the dark currents exhibit about nine times larger than the dark currents measured by Zhong Su et al. The linearity of X-ray response acquired 0.988 as a coefficient of correlation (r). Reproducibility acquired 0.002 as a coefficient of variation. This study provides the performance data of fabricated polycrystalline $HgI_2$ film detector available for an active matrix flat panel imager under radiographic irradiation condition.

We have investigated the effects of Bu-Zhong-Yi-Qi- ang on the differentiation of murine bone marrow cells in methylcellulose culture. GM-CSF and IL-3 supported primarily the formation of granulocyte/mac-rophage colony formation. However, the addition of Bu-Zhong-Yi-Qi-Tang extract yielded a significant increase in the numbers of colonies and differentiated cells in the presence of GM-CSF and IL-3. We have analyzed CD11b (Mac-1) expression of differentiated cells from bone marrow by staining with monoclonal anti-CD11b antibody. The majority of colony-forming cells were in CD11b/sup +/ population. Also Bu-Zhong-Yi-Qi-Tang extract promoted the production of IL-6 and nitric oxide by macrophages. These results demonstrate that extract of Bu-Zhong-Yi-Qi-Tang, a prescription of traditional oriental medicine, is effective in supporting macrophage potential of the primary colonies.

The article, focusing on the theory of Zhong-He, sheds a new light on the philosophy of Daizhen. The theory of Zhong-He, according to the philosophical system of Zhuxi, serves as the theoretical foundation in erecting the apriori moral nature and guiding mental cultivation of subjects. Daizhen, on the contrary, criticizes the doctrine of Zhonghe in Zhuxi's philosophy as it produces negative side-effects of moral dogmatism. Zhuxi's doctrine, according to Daizhen, as it reduce the origin of morality to apriori condition of consciousness and delimit the range of cultivation to psychological realm of subjects, restricts moral subjects in the fortress of their own subjectivity. In this vein of his criticism, Daizhen attempts new interpretation on Zhonghe. The character Zhong (中), according to him, does not refer to apriori moral state or metaphysical moral substance as it does in the doctrine of Zhuxi. On the contrary, it denotes the state in which diverse existent beings are placed in their own position by their own dispositions. Similarly, the other character He (和) does not refer to the condition where an individual's consciousness is in equilibrium, but to the process of achieving the harmony of entire society in which diverse existent beings are communicating to each other. With his novel interpretation of the theory of Zhong-He, Daizhen could dissolve the tradition of Weifa (未發) and moral subjectivism in Zhuxi's philosophy and provide a way of establishing reciprocal communication and harmony between various individuals. It is in his ethics of rational mutual understanding where the significance of Daizhen's philosophy should be found.

This study examines the God, Jiutian Yingyuan Leisheng Puhua Tianzun (九天應元雷聲普化天尊, 'The Supreme God of the Ninth Heaven, Celestial Worthy of Universal Creation through His Thunderbolt, the Originator with Whom All Beings Resonate' in Daesoon Jinrihoe), in terms of narrative imagination, by investigating the narrative of Wen Zhong (聞仲) in Investiture of the Gods (Fengshenyanyi 封神演義) and the narrative of Kang Jeungsan (姜甑山) in The Canonical Scripture (Jeongyeong 典經). This examination occurs along three dimensions: Firstly, I look into the cultural contexts of the image of the Thunder God (雷神) in Gojoseon (古朝鮮) mythology and the Korean seondo (仙道) tradition both of which are reflected in the narrative of Wen Zhong. At the same time, I also argue that the cultural contexts examined above are able to be found in the narrative of Kang Jeungsan. Secondly, I consider the essential meaning of the concept of "deifying" (封神) in the narrative of Wen Zhong and its connection to "the resolution of grievances" (haewon 解冤) in the narrative of Kang Jeungsan. Thirdly, I consider the traits of embracing heterogeneous things (異類) in the religious group "Jiejiao" (截敎) that Wen Zhong belonged to in relation to the values of "mutual beneficence" (sangsaeng 相生) that Kang Jeungsan pursued. In this study's conclusion, I posit that the "mentalité" of Dong-yi (東夷) culture and tales including Yin (殷) is identifiable in narrative imagination applied to the God, Jiutian Yingyuan Leisheng Puhua Tianzun. This means that the nature of Jiutian Yingyuan Leisheng Puhua Tianzun is closely related to the tradition of Korean seondo and Korean Daoism.

By generalizing the definition of fuzzy weakly semicontinuous mappings by B. S. Zhong, we introduce the concept of fuzzy weakly r-semicontinuous mappings in fuzzy topology of Chattopadhyay. Then the concept introduced by B. S. Zhong becomes a special case of our definition. Also, we show that fuzzy weakly r-semicontinuity and fuzzy weakly r-continuity are independent notions.
