Objectives Our purpose of this study was to evaluate the association between depression, stress, and obesity indexes. Methods This study was performed in 110 healthy overweight and obese(BMI${\geq}23\;kg/m^2$) women in Korea. Subjects underwent abdominal CT(computed tomography) scanning and were asked to complete Beck depression inventory(BDI), social readjustment rating scale(SRRS), and stress response inventory(SRI) questionnaires. Weight, body-mass index(BMI), waist circumference(WC), and waist-hip ratio(WHR) were evaluated. Subjects were given written consent and this study was performed under permission of institutional review board of KyunHee University Hospital at Gangdong. Results 1. BDI and SRI were significantly correlated with VFA(visceral fat area)(p<0.05). However, other obesity indexes were not significantly correlated with BDI and SRI(p>0.05). 2. SRRS was not significantly correlated with all obesity indexes(p>0.05). Conclusions This study suggests that depression and stress might be correlated with visceral fat, and this result would be helpful for planning a treatment schedule of obese patients with depression or stress in the clinic.
It is not stipulated concretely in the Food Sanitation Act what the standardized school food service dieticians indices and the dietician's duties and task elements should be. Therefore, this study was required. The specific purposes of this study were : a) to define the school food service dietician's duties and task elements, b) to estimate the performance frequency and work hours of the dietician's duties and task elements c) to investigate the job specification of the dietician over school food services, d) to develop the standardized indices of the dietician needed in school food service operation. For this study, school food service dietician's work functions were defined in 10 duties and 60 task elements based on the studies precedented and literature review and pilot test process. This study was conducted in school food service systems nationwide using written questionnaire and interview with the official in charge and delphi technique. The questionnaires were mailed to the dieticians of three types of school food service systems. Of the 660 schools that participated in this study, the 624 responses were selected for analysis. Statistical analyses were performed with SAS/Win 6.12 program so as to provide a descriptive statistics, T-test, ANOVA. The main results of this study could be summarized as follows: A characteristic common to all the school food service systems was that 'cooking and distribution management' took the longest hours of work, while 'nutrition education' took the shortest hours of work. The standardized index of dietician over school food service was one person in conventional system independently of the number of meals per day. In the commissary system, according to the numbers of meals served per day, it was 0.95-1.38 persons and 1.27-1.55 persons and 1.40-1.91 persons. In joint management system, the standardized index was 1.03-1.42 persons in case of serving less than 700 meals per day.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the operation and management systems of the school food services in Korea and to provide useful data for improving the quality of the school food services. This study was conducted in school food service operations nationwide using a written questionnaire. The questionnaires were mailed to the dieticians of three types of school food service systems-conventional, commissary, and joint-management. Of the 660 schools that participated in this study, the responses from 212 conventional system, 212 commissary system and 200 joint-management system services were selected for analysis. Statistical analysis was performed utilizing the SAS/Win 6.12 program so as the provide a descriptive statistics. The main results of this study can be summarized as follows: The average number of meals served per day was 1014, 738 and 695 in the conventional food service, the commissary food service and the joint-management flood service systems, respectively. Over half (58.9%) of food service facilities were utilizing computer programs for their operations. Most of the commissary flood service systems (52.4%) had a satellite school and served a maximum of 2000 meals per day. In most of the joint-management food service systems (87.1%), the number of food service schools managed was two and a maximum of 3330 meals were sewed. Only one dietician was posted irrespective of the school food service system. The mean hours of work by the dietician per day was 8.9, 8.6 and 8.6 in the conventional food service, the commissary flood service and the joint-management food service systems, respectively. The principal work functions of cook personnel were cooking and cleaning.
A purpose of this study is degree of recognition and consciousness investigation about a satisfaction duty before admission about a school subject of some academic dental hygiene students. From responses to individual written survey questionnaires answered by 608 students who are studying Dental Hygiene at colleges in Mokpo, Iksan, Gangneung. The following are the results regarding their satisfaction levels with their majors and their interest in working abroad: 1. Regarding the motivating factors to major in Dental Hygiene, most students(51.3%), particularly most freshmen(57.3%), have chosen this major because of more job opportunities than students with other majors. The most common source of information in choosing majors is the Internet(30.8%). 2. Most students do not want to change their majors even if they are provided with the chance to do so(65.5%). They are in general satisfied with their studies. The result shows that the Dental Hygiene majors are positive toward their major. 3. Most students will choose their jobs by their own choices(40.6%), and the most important factor in their choices is the opportunity of self-growth and development(33.1%). The survey results show that the Dental Hygiene students value their own decisions and self-realization. 4. Showed the difference that as a result of having seen a knowledge degree advance a school subject of major in Dental Hygiene by a school year and ash students, an admission motive, relevance of an information acquisition path, all noted. 5. And were able to see the difference that noted in an adviser, work selection bases in case of work selection whether or not there was a dissatisfaction reason about a major and a criminal record.
This paper investigates the influence of social networks on the satisfaction and loyalty of online game users. We gather the resulting questionnaires written by all respondents and compare social networks of users in the online game world. Social networks of online game users influence a sense of community. In consequence, the community sense influences the satisfaction and loyalty of online game users, respectively. Therefore, the companies which produce an online game and provide various services to users should consider the social networks and communities of their game users. Especially they have to try to manage the users who are the opinion leaders of the online game. If the companies make good relationships with users who are the opinion leaders of the online game, they would easily improve the loyalty of ordinary users by performing word-of-moth marketing of the users' opinions concerning about the online game.

This study aimed to investigate resource transfer for baby boomers' adult children and related factors pertaining to baby boomers' later-life preparation. This study was conducted in 2016 using written questionnaires completed by 405 baby boomers residing in Seoul and metropolitan cities in South Korea. The data were analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics 23.0 and the following statistical methods: frequency, percentiles, the mean, standard deviation, a t-test, one-way ANOVA, Cronbach's alpha, and hierarchical multiple linear regression analysis. Baby boomers' average level of later-life preparation was found to be 3.45/5, a relatively rational score. Baby boomers tended to transfer more resource from their adult children when they had many adult children, were more satisfied with their romantic relationship. Baby boomers' level of later-life preparation was higher when there was lesser resource transfer of their adult children. The greatest influential variables pertaining to the respondents' later-life preparation were their family's income, children's marital status, satisfaction with their romantic relationship, and level of transfer from their adult children. It was concluded that baby boomers have insufficient later-life preparation in terms of finances due to their need to support their adult children; thus, nation-wide practical programs are needed to prepare baby boomers for a happy life.
This study was conducted in order to promote students' interest in overseas employment and to present methods of improving education that suits globalization and internalization. From responses to individual written survey questionnaires answered by 439 students who are studying Dental technology at colleges in Kyung-ki and Chung-cheong. The following are the results regarding their satisfaction levels with their majors and their interest in working abroad: 1. Regarding the motivating factors to major in Dental technology, students(37.7%), particularly most juniors(43.5%), have chosen this major to get a this professional job. The most common source of information in choosing majors is the Internet(44.4%). There was a slight difference in their knowledge about the major before college among freshmen, sophomores, and juniors. 2. Most students do not want to change their majors even if they are provided with the chance to do so(69.2%). They are in general satisfied with their studies. The result shows that the Dental technology majors are positive toward their major. 3. Many students have heard about overseas employment, particularly in case of juniors(98.5%), and there was a difference among different years of studies. They want to work abroad if they are given the chances(79.3%), which indicates that the Dental Technology majors have much interest and positive attitude in overseas employment. 4. The most significant barrier to their overseas employment is the language, and thus the Dental technology majors should improve their language abilities to be more involved in working abroad.
Purpose: In this study, we aim to provide primary source of data for developing a learning program that enhances the students' learning by critically analyzing and adopting the effective class participation factors of the students. Methods: A questionnaire survey has been conducted from the beginning of May to the end of October, 2017. Subjects of the survey was the dental technology students living in W-city et al by random sampling method along with written informed consent. Out of 630 distributed questionnaires, 584 results were used for our analysis. Results: Firstly, the average score of the class participation of all the subjects was 3.08 points out of 5.0, which was broken down into class activity (3.53 points), passion about class (3.51 points), communication factors (2.88 points), class preparation (2.77 points), class extension (2.76 points). Secondly, statistically significant correlations were found between class participation and class satisfaction as shown in (p<.01). Class participation factors that affect the class satisfaction were class preparation(p<.001), class activities(p<.001), passion about class(p<.001), which reveals positive and meaningful results. Explanatory power of the model turned out 50.3%. Conclusion : Considering that class preparation, class activities, and passion about class played a key role in class satisfaction of the student, teachers need to be open minded to reflect the learners' personalized demands and needs in preparing and managing their class. Additionally should be in tandem that provides the students with various routes of class participation.

Objectives: This study was for analysis the educational needs of personnels who works for hypertension and diabetes centers in community in order to serve as the basis for the development of the future educational programs. Methods: To analyze the educational needs of personnels who wokrs for hypertension and diabetes centers in community, a survey based on CompHP core competencies framework for health promotion was conducted in September 2016. 102 personnels were answered to the online questionnaires and collected data were analyzed through SPSS. Results: The highest point of educational needs was 'how to use verbal and non-verbal effective communication skills' among 46 core competencies for health promotion and 'self-management practical skills for hypertension and diabetes patients'. There were some differences of educational needs between leaders and general staff members of centers. Most wanted educational subjects of leaders are 'contribute to the development and dissemination of health promotion evaluation and research process', and 'use evaluation findings to refine and improve health promotion action'. On the other hand, most general staff members of centers wanted 'use effective communication skills including written, verbal, non-verbal, and listening skills' and 'facilitate the development of personal skills that will maintain and improve health. Conclusions: Evidence-based and long-term educational programs should be developed for personnels who works for hypertension and diabetes centers in community.
The purpose of this study was to apply Keller's ARCS motivational model to the business major English class and to investigate the effects of ARCS model on learning motivation and academic achievement. The subject for this study was 27 junior students majoring in business administration who took the business major English class. As a means of measurement, questionnaires and the results of written tests were used. The analysis on the results of the two groups, the experimental group applying ARCS model and the comparison group using the traditional lecture method, showed that the teaching-learning method applying ARCS model for the business major English class was effective in improving all elements of learning motivation such as attention, relevance, confidence and satisfaction, and in improving academic achievement in business English and business-related content.
