Multiple target tracking mainly focuses on tracking unknown number of targets in the complex environment of clutter and missed detection. The generalized labeled multi-Bernoulli (GLMB) filter has been shown to be an effective approach and attracted extensive attention. However, in the scenarios where the clutter rate is high or measurement-outliers often occur, the performance of the GLMB filter will significantly decline due to the Gaussian-based likelihood function is sensitive to clutter. To solve this problem, this paper presents a robust GLMB filter and smoother to improve the tracking performance in the scenarios with high clutter rate, low detection probability, and measurement-outliers. Firstly, a Student-T distribution variational Bayesian (TDVB) filtering technology is employed to update targets' states. Then, The likelihood weight in the tracking process is deduced again. Finally, a trajectory smoothing method is proposed to improve the integrative tracking performance. The proposed method are compared with recent multiple target tracking filters, and the simulation results show that the proposed method can effectively improve tracking accuracy in the scenarios with high clutter rate, low detection rate and measurement-outliers. We present a method for generating 3D structures and rendering objects by combining VAE (Variational Autoencoder) and GAN (Generative Adversarial Network). This approach focuses on generating and rendering 3D models with improved quality using residual learning as the learning method for the encoder. We deep stack the encoder layers to accurately reflect the features of the image and apply residual blocks to solve the problems of deep layers to improve the encoder performance. This solves the problems of gradient vanishing and exploding, which are problems when constructing a deep neural network, and creates a 3D model of improved quality. To accurately extract image features, we construct deep layers of the encoder model and apply the residual function to learning to model with more detailed information. The generated model has more detailed voxels for more accurate representation, is rendered by adding materials and lighting, and is finally converted into a mesh model. 3D models have excellent visual quality and accuracy, making them useful in various fields such as virtual reality, game development, and metaverse.
To study the vibration characteristics of a high-speed railway continuous girder bridge-track coupling system (HSRCBT), a coupling vibration analysis model of an m-span continuous girder bridge-subgrade-track system with n-span approach bridge was established. The model was based on the energy and its variational method, where both the interlaminar slip and shear deformation effects were considered. In addition, the free vibration equations and natural boundary conditions of the HSRCBT were derived. Further, according to the coordination principle of deformation and mechanics, an analytical method for calculating the natural vibration frequencies of the HSRCBT was obtained. Three typical bridge-subgrade-track coupling systems of high-speed railway were taken and the results of finite element analysis were compared to those of the analytical method. The errors between the simulation results and calculated values of the analytical method were less than 3%, thus verifying the analytical method proposed in this paper. Finally, the analytical method was used to investigate the influence of the number of the approach bridge spans and the interlaminar stiffness on the natural vibration characteristics of the HSRCBT based on the degree of sensitivity. The results suggest the approach bridges have a critical number of spans and in general, the precision requirements of the analysis could be met by using 6-span approach bridges. The interlaminar vertical compressive stiffness has very little influence on the low-order natural vibration frequency of HSRCBT, but does have a significant influence on higher-order natural vibration frequency. As the interlaminar vertical compressive stiffness increases, the degree of sensitivity to interlaminar stiffness of each of the HSRCBT natural vibration characteristics decrease and gradually approach zero.
A new hybrid ON/OFF method is presented for the fast solution of electromagnetic inverse problems in high frequency domains. The proposed method utilizes both topological sensitivity (TS) and material sensitivity (MS) to update material properties in unit design cells. MS provides smooth design space and stable convergence, while TS enables sudden changes of material distribution when MS slows down. This combination of two sensitivities enables a reduction in total computation time. The TS and MS analyses are based on a variational approach and an adjoint variable method (AVM), which permits direct calculation of both sensitivity values from field solutions of the primary and adjoint systems. Investigation of the formulations of TS and MS reveals that they have similar forms, and implementation of the hybrid ON/OFF method that uses both sensitivities can be achieved by one optimization module. The proposed method is applied to dielectric material reconstruction problems, and the results show the feasibility and effectiveness of the method.
A method employing infinite elements is described for the magnetic field computations of the magnetic circuits with permanent magnet. The system stiffness matrix is derived by a variational approach, while the interfacial boundary conditions between the finite element regions and the infinite element regions are dealt with using collocation method. The proposed method is applied to a simple linear problems, and the numerical results are compared with those of the standard finite element method and the analytic solutions. It is observed that the proposed method gives more accurate results than those of the standard finite element method under the same computing efforts.
A multiscale method is presented for analysis of thin slab structures in which the microstructures can not be reduced to two-dimensional plane stress models and thus three dimensional treatment of microstructures is necessary. This method is based on the classical asymptotic expansion multiscale approach but with consideration of the special geometric characteristics of the slab structures. This is achieved via a special form of multiscale asymptotic expansion of displacement field. The expanded three dimensional displacement field only exhibits in-plane periodicity and the thickness dimension is in the global scale. Consequently by employing the multiscale asymptotic expansion approach the global macroscopic structural problem and the local microscopic unit cell problem are rationally set up. It is noted that the unit cell is subjected to the in-plane periodic boundary conditions as well as the traction free conditions on the out of plane surfaces of the unit cell. The variational formulation and finite element implementation of the unit cell problem are discussed in details. Thereafter the in-plane material response is systematically characterized via homogenization analysis of the proposed special unit cell problem for different microstructures and the reasoning of the present method is justified. Moreover the present multiscale analysis procedure is illustrated through a plane stress beam example.
Based on the Reissner mixed variational theorem (RMVT), the authors present a nonlocal Timoshenko beam theory (TBT) for the nonlinear free vibration analysis of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) embedded in an elastic medium. In this formulation, four different edge conditions of the embedded MWCNT are considered, two different models with regard to the van der Waals interaction between each pair of walls constituting the MWCNT are considered, and the interaction between the MWCNT and its surrounding medium is simulated using the Pasternak-type foundation. The motion equations of an individual wall and the associated boundary conditions are derived using Hamilton's principle, in which the von $K{\acute{a}}rm{\acute{a}}n$ geometrical nonlinearity is considered. Eringen's nonlocal elasticity theory is used to account for the effects of the small length scale. Variations of the lowest frequency parameters with the maximum modal deflection of the embedded MWCNT are obtained using the differential quadrature method in conjunction with a direct iterative approach.
A simple numerical modeling technique is proposed for the analysis of framed tube structures with multiple internal tubes. The structures are analysed using a continuum approach in which each tube is individually modelled by a tube beam that accounts for the flexural and shear deformations, as well as the shear lag effects. By simplifying assumptions regarding the form of strain distributions in external and internal tubes, the structural behaviours is reduced to the solution of a single second order linear differential equation. The numerical analysis uses the variational approach on the basis of the minimum potential energy priniciple. Three framed-tube sructures with single, two and three internal tubes are analysed to verify the applicability and reliability of the proposed method.
In order to overcome the key shortcoming of Hamilton's principle, recently, the extended framework of Hamilton's principle was developed. To investigate its potential in further applications especially for material non-linearity problems, the focus is initially on a classical single-degree-of-freedom elasto-viscoplastic model. More specifically, the extended framework is applied to the single-degree-of-freedom elasto-viscoplastic model, and a corresponding weak form is numerically implemented through a temporal finite element approach. The method provides a non-iterative algorithm along with unconditional stability with respect to the time step, while yielding whole information to investigate the further dynamics of the considered system.
