In order to calculate the quality management cost of construction work, the process must conform to relevant laws and regulations. In details, the cost of the various items such as quality test fee and quality control activity cost are required to be calculated. Regarding the quality management costs, the labor cost is applied to the quality examination fee and the calculation unit quantity in the construction quality management duties. The application of the unit price of the labor cost stipulates that Construction Association of Korea and Korea Engineering & Consulting Association apply the unit price which is surveyed and published. However, in the related laws and regulations, the standard of the quality manager and quality tester is not clear. This accounts for the confusion in the cost of construction management and the cost of labor. In the current law, the allocation standard of quality control personnel is specified according to the size of the construction, but the standard of placement of quality testers is not specified. At the construction site, there is no assignment criteria manpower for quality testers except quality managers, or very little work is being done. The quality control personnel conducts the quality test work to be carried out by the quality tester, and this carrying out heavy work. Therefore, it is difficult to maintain quality control activities. In this study, the labor cost of quality management expenses and the allocation criteria of quality managers and quality testers are established and presented for the purpose of securing the quality of the construction work and preventing the construction work. It is stipulated that the standards of the relevant laws and regulations, which are not clear, should be classified into quality control personnel and quality testers according to the size of the construction. Based on the unit price of Korea Engineering & Consulting Association, the personnel expenses of quality managers and quality testers are proposed to apply the unit price of engineer (professional engineer, specialist, advanced, intermediate, beginner) and skilled technicians (advanced, intermediate, beginner).

The purpose in this study was to develope the concept maps of sub-units included in 'resource management and environment' area of Home Economics(HE) as an advance organizer after analyzing the overlapped and connected contents between HE textbooks and those of other subject matters(Ethics, Social Studies, Sciences, and Physical Education) taught in the middle schools. The results of this study were as follows. First, the unit of 'resource facilitation and environment' of HE is dealt in Ethics. Specifically the overlapped content in this unit between HE and Ethics is the content of the savings of resources, recycling, and environment conservation. The unit of 'work and time of youth' is dealt in Ethics and Science. The overlapped content of this unit is that of the concept of 'work'. While Ethics focuses on the general concept of work, Science focuses on the scientific concept of work. Home Economics doesn't focus on the concept of work but on how to manage the work. In the unit of the 'adolescents and their consumption', there are many overlapped contents among three subject matters, HE, Ethics and Social Studies. Second, the 7 concept maps were developed by following the steps: (1) confirming the learning objectives presented in the 'resource management and environment' area of HE; (2) identifying the overlapped and connected contents between HE and other subject matters(Eethics, Social Studies, Sciences, and Physical Education); (3) organizing the overlapped and connected contents between HE textbooks and those of other subject matters.
Background: The present study aims at investigating whether and how (1) job demands and job resources are associated with work-to-private-life interference (WLI) and (2) job resources moderate the relationship between job demands and WLI. Methods: Data were collected by a self-report questionnaire from three hospitals in Italy. The sample consisted of 889 health-care workers. Results: All job demands (i.e., quantitative demands, disproportionate patient expectations, and verbal aggression) and job resources (i.e., job autonomy, support from superiors and colleagues, fairness, and organizational support), with the exception of skill discretion, were related to WLI. The effects of quantitative demands on WLI were moderated by support from superiors; fairness and organizational support moderate the effects of all job demands considered. Support from colleagues moderated only verbal aggression. Job autonomy did not buffer any job demands. Conclusion: The present study suggests that the work context has a central importance in relation to the experience of WLI among health-care workers. The results indicated that intervention in the work context may help to contain WLI. Such interventions would especially be aimed at improving the social climate within the unit and quality of the organizational process.

The purpose of this welding process of the exclusive welding-machine using welding torch-rotation type is to develop a mechanism which can solve the problem of twisting of welding wires and cables. The technique was developed by revising the torch position and smooth controlling of both the normal and reverse rotation. Some of the advantages of using the torch-rotation type apply to the work-rotation technique are the practical uses of increased work space and link work with the factory automation system. Do apply the welding process, I designed and made a special unit so called torch part in order to solve the problems of kinematical. And I made a control panel which can manipulate the progress of the entire process at the work shop. Even if it will be applied to another kind of axle casing's welding work, this process can be utilized if other sizes of the fixed pin and work part is produced and changed. The development of this exclusive welding-machine could reduce the manpower of skilled welding labor and increase productivity and better quality product in comparison to the handmade product.

Purpose: This study is a descriptive research study to identify the relationship between the experience of verbal abuse, compassion fatigue, and work engagement among nurses in the emergency unit. Methods: Study subjects were 107 nurses working in a university hospital in Gyeonggi-Do. The instruments used were a verbal abuse checklist, a subscale of the Professional Quality of Life Scale used to measure compassion fatigue, and the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale. The data were analyzed using the IBM SPSS version 22.0 program for independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation coefficients. Results: Emergency nurses experienced more verbal abuse and compassion fatigue than nurses in other departments, and the level of work engagement was low. There was a positive correlation between experience of verbal abuse and compassion fatigue and a negative correlation between both of these variables and work engagement. Particularly, verbal abuse appeared in the order of nurses, patients & caregivers, and doctors. This means there were serious problems with communication with nurses. Conclusion: In order to reduce verbal abuse, it is necessary to establish a communication culture of mutual respect between nurses, medical staff, patients & caregivers. Moreover, a compassion fatigue management program is needed to reduce emotional fatigue.

Purpose: Shift work disrupts the synchronization between the human biological clock and the environment. Sleep disturbances are common for shift work nurses, and may threaten patient safety. This study was done to investigate the sleep characteristics and medication errors (ME) of intensive care unit (ICU) nurses who work shifts, and ascertain if there is an association between these factors. Methods: Data were collected using a self-report questionnaire from 126 ICU nurses on three shifts. Collected data included their sleep characteristics including sleep patterns and sleep disturbances, and ME for the past 2 weeks. Results: There were significant differences in sleep duration and sleep latency according to shift. Day shift nurses had the shortest sleep duration, and their sleep latency was the longest (about 49 minutes) compared to nurses on evening and night shifts; 54% reported sleep disturbances, 16% experienced ME, and among these nurses 50% were on the night shift. Logistic regression analysis revealed significant associations between nurses' sleep duration and ME (adjusted OR 0.52 [95% CI 0.32-0.85]). Conclusions: The results confirmed that shift work nurses in the ICUs experience sleep disturbance, and that less sleep is associated with ME.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify factors affecting professional burnout in intensive care unit (ICU) nurses. Method: Data were obtained through questionnaires from 240 ICU nurses working in hospitals of 500 beds or more in two cities in South Korea. Data analysis was done with t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test, Pearson correlation coefficients and multiple stepwise regression with SPSS WIN 14.0. Result: Work stress was positively correlated with level of professional burnout and there was a negative correlation between hardiness and professional burnout. Social support was negatively correlated with level of professional burnout. Hardiness had a positive correlation with social support and a negative correlation with work stress. The explained variances for burnout was 44.7% and factors affecting professional burnout in the ICU nurses' were work satisfaction, work stress, social support, and hardiness. Conclusion: The findings indicate that high levels of stress coupled with low levels of hardiness and social support in ICU nurses result in high levels of professional burnout. Reducing work stress and the level of professional burnout in ICU nurses and increasing work satisfaction can be done by enhancing the mediating factors of hardiness and social support through educational efforts and nursing and administrative support.

In the construction of high-rise residential buildings in which the finishing works are done repetitively in each housing unit, the construction period and cost can be reduced, while maintaining the quality, if the work process is properly managed in order for the resources to be input continuously. Time management methods such as the Bar Chart, CPM and LOB are not appropriate, due to the difficulties involved in the diagraming of repetitive works and applying them to the project. The Tact method also has difficulties in maintaining a constant work flow and needs significant effort and cooperation from the subcontractors to allocate the resources consistently. Partitioning, base works for finishing, floor mortar plastering and the final finishing work are done sequentially in residential buildings projects, and there are many repetitive activities which differ in terms of the work method, work area and productivity. If these repetitive activities are synchronized or converged toward the last work area, the goal of process management can be achieved effectively. Therefore, a process planning method for the finishing works of residential building projects is proposed, which takes into consideration elements, such as the sequential relation between the activities in each housing unit and classification of repetitive works in terms of their management method, work area and production rate, for the continuous input of resources into the housing units.
Purpose & Design/methodology/approach Amidst the COVID-19 spread, interest in telework has been increasing as a way to respond to environmental changes and improve organizational performance. In this study, causal loop diagram, thinking process, and four principles of TRIZ were used to find various ways to achieve work-life balance for workers and firms in teleworking environment. Findings The result of the causal loop diagram shows that keeping work-life balance is needed to provide free extra time for workers and achieve the firm's performance through efficient coordination between departments in teleworking environment. Using thinking process of TOC, we proposed a evaporating cloud for work-life balance and reviewed assumptions and premises to maintain extra free time for workers and achieve firm's performance paradoxically, and suggested solutions through the breakdown of the assumptions and premises. Resolving the contradiction(RC) by spatial separation is to divide working spaces into home, smart center, and mobile work types, to find both ways to achieve the organizational performance, and to provide extra time for workers. RC by temporal separation is to divide working time into various unit time, and to find ways to achieve organizational performance through doing work at office or home periodically or shiftly according to a predetermined schedule and time setting. RC by situational separation is to give options of flexible methods of performing work according to the conditions of the company or the worker. RC by separation between part and a whole is to find ways to organize and do the work so that the entire work can be completed efficiently even if each work is performed separately in teleworking way. This study is meaningful in that it provides basic thinking framework for achieving work-life balance in teleworking environment and proposes ways to resolve conflict from various perspectives, but it is limited in that it has not been tested empirically.
Until a recent day, degradation of PEMFC (Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells) has been mainly studied in unit cell. But operation and degradation of real PEMFC going along in stack instead of unit cell. Therefore in this work, ADT (Accelerated Degradation Test) of PEMFC was done in stack and the result from stack's test was compared with that of unit cell. The polymer electrolyte membrane was degraded by repeated electrochemical and mechanical degradation method among several ADT methods. Current densities of MEA at 0.6V decreased in stack and unit cell, 28.4% and 27.8% respectively after ADT for 312 hours. Hydrogen crossover current densities of membrane increased in stack and unit cell, 16.8% and 15.2% respectively after ADT for 312 hours. The result of ADT in stack was similar that of ADT in unit cell, which showed that ADT method of unit cell was available to the stack.
