Derivation of Design Low Flows by Transformation Method

  • It is shown that two step power transformation is more efficient for the normalization of frequency distribution with the coefficient of skewness of zero in comparison with others including SMEMAX and power transformations. It is confirmed that the design low flows calculated using power and two step power transformations used in this study are generally nearer to the observed data as compared with those of SMEMAX transformation at all return periods in the applied watersheds of the Kum, Naktong and Yongsan rivers in Korea.

  • A Fermat-type equation deals with representing a nonzero constant as a sum of kth powers of nonconstant functions. Suppose that $k{\geq}2$. Consider $\sum_{i=1}^{p}\;f_i(z)^k=1$. Let p be the smallest number of functions that give the above identity. We consider the Fermat-type equation for MAobius transformations and obtain $k{\leq}p{\leq}k+1$.

  • The aim of this paper is to present the classical sets of sequences and related matrix transformations with respect to the b-metric. Also, we introduce the relationships between these sets and their classical forms with corresponding properties including convergence and completeness. Further we determine the duals of the new spaces and characterize matrix transformations on them into the sets of b-bounded, b-convergent and b-null sequences.

  • This note Presents sufficient conditions for Lyapunov's stability and instability of a class of nonlinear nonautonomous second-order ordinary differential equations. Such a class includes as particular cases a remarkably large number of differential equations with specific physical applications. Two successive nonlinear transformations are applied to the original differential equation in order to convert it into a more convenient form for stability analysis purposes. The obtained stability / instability conditions depend closely on the parameterization of the original differential equation.

  • Quasigroups are algebraic structures closely related to Latin squares which have many different applications. There are several classifications of quasigroups based on their algebraic properties. In this paper we propose another classification based on the properties of strings obtained by specific quasigroup transformations. More precisely, in our research we identified some quasigroup transformations which can be applied to arbitrary strings to produce pseudo random sequences. We performed tests for randomness of the obtained pseudo-random sequences by random walks on torus. The randomness tests provided an empirical classification of quasigroups.

  • In this paper we will consider the weighted composition operator $W=uC_{\varphi}$ between two different $L^p(X,\;\Sigma,\;\mu)$ spaces, generated by measurable and non-singular transformations $\varphi$ from X into itself and measurable functions u on X. We characterize the functions u and transformations $\varphi$ that induce weighted composition operators between $L^p-spaces$ by using some properties of conditional expectation operator, pair $(u,\;\varphi)$ and the measure space $(X,\;\Sigma,\;\mu)$. Also, Fredholmness of these type operators will be investigated.

  • In this paper, we investigate the similarity transformations in the Minkowski n-space. We study the geometric invariants of non-null curves under the similarity transformations. Besides, we extend the fundamental theorem for a non-null curve according to a similarity motion of ${\mathbb{E}}_1^n$. We determine the parametrizations of non-null self-similar curves in ${\mathbb{E}}_1^n$.

  • The paper shows that certain hierachical Bayes (HB) predictors for small domain data in repeated surveys "universally" or "stochastically" dominate all linear unbiased predictors. Also, the HB predictors are "best" within the class of all equivariant predictors under a certain group of transformations.tain group of transformations.

  • In this paper, we investigate the vectorial moments of Bäcklund transformations of a space curve in 𝔼3. Firstly, it is obtained the vectorial moments which named α𝓖 dual curve, β𝓖 dual curve, and γ𝓖 dual curve of Bäcklund transformations. Then we give the Euler elastic bending energies of these curves. Finally, we provide some examples of α𝓖 dual, β𝓖 dual, and γ𝓖 dual, and their Euler elastic bending energies.
