The AVT under traffic-induced vibrations was carried out on Namhae suspension bridge in Korea. Mode shapes as well as natural frequencies up to the 15th mode were acquired exactly, and the effect of traffic mass and temperature on measured natural frequencies was investigated. The results from the AVT are compared with those from forced vibration test(FVT) and FE analysis. In the case of long span suspension bridges such as Namhae bridge which has relatively large mass, the results shows that the measured natural frequencies are not affected by vehicle mass. From the results of long-term variation of natural frequencies due to temperature change, it can be said that temperature effect may be predominant to structural demage effect. Therefore, if damage detection methods based on dynamic characteristics of bridges are to be used, the variation should be taken into consideration.

This paper describes the methodology for environmental assessments of traffic noise sources. An attempt is made to establish evaluation scale relationships between noise quality Parameters and subjective degrees annoyance. Subjective experimental was conducted to determine the subjective degrees annoyance that scaling score compare with reference and varieties noise source about modified traffic noises with $40{\sim}85dB$. Also a correlation analysis between noise rating index and satisfactory percentage of the noise dose response curves varied with response was conducted. As a result of study, subjective annoyance degree has not correlation of proportional linearity to the A weight noise level, but has correlation of proportional linearity to the index composed to loudness and tonality. It is suggested to be resonable level 4.9 (equivalence about 53dB) index on the out door noise limits for traffic noise and to be 6 step scale base on the linearity for evaluation traffic noise.

This study examine the annoyance of transportation noise exposure and found the survey method about which noise induces more disturbance or annoyance when more than two kinds of noise exist. This study describes the noise annoyance survey performed in the vicinity of Sin-wol interchange. This residential area was exposed to aircraft noise and traffic noise simultaneously and aircraft noise exposure of this area is about 81 WECPNL, traffic noise exposure is about 81.2 dB(A) nearby road. Noise sources are grouped into three part, traffic noise, aircraft noise and community noise. The questionnaire includes how often, how loud each noise is heard. Also this deals with comparative annoyance reaction from specific noise sources such as aircraft or traffic and its disturbance of daily activities. Facade noise mapping are executed by using a commercial noise mapping software.

The road traffic noise becomes aggravated due to the rapid increase of vehicles. It has a great effect on the dwelling environment. Therefore we investigate the characteristics and sources of the road traffic noise through grasping the status of the road traffic noise. This report is concerned with the description of the various factors affecting the generation and propagation of outdoor traffic noise. It is particularly concerned with the mathematical interpretation of these processes and the resulting development of prediction techniques which are now broadly used for both the environment impact assessment of road traffic noise and the planning and design of roads and adjoining land use.

In this study, the vibration screening effectiveness of barriers which can isolate structures from ground-transmitted vibration generated by harmonic forces is performed. For high frequencies, the vibration screening effectiveness of barriers is analyzed from field tests, and compared with the results from numerical analyses using a commercial program, ANSYS. Using these numerical analysis procedures, the effectiveness for vibration with various low frequencies is predicted. The frequency analysis tests of surface waves are performed in order to estimate the dynamic material properties of soil for 100 Hz, 150 Hz, 200 Hz, and 250 Hz. Three-dimensional solid elements are used in order to consider the diffraction of waves in all directions. Spring-damper combination elements are used in order to avoid the reflection of waves on the boundary. The results of numerical analysis agree with those of field tests. From the results of this numerical analyses, the reduction of vibration for low frequencies induced by the traffic loads can be predicted.

Recently, reduction of road traffic noise in residential buildings has become one of the most important subjects. To reduce the road traffic noise, noise impact assessment by the road traffic prediction model is required before building construction. For reasonable road traffic noise prediction, it is required to analysis of various factors in road traffic prediction models. This paper was studied the road traffic noise propagation factors such as distance from road to building, receiver height, alignment angle of building and reflection coefficient of the building facade by two calculation models, RLS-90 and CRTN. The result showed that noise reduction was generally higher at bottom stories by ground absorption effect. The reflection coefficient of the building facade was affect of additional sound pressure level by facade reflecting. And alignment angle of building at $90^{\circ}$ was performed effective noise reduction better than $0^{\circ}$.
A recent work by the authors has demonstrated the feasibility of scour evaluation for Kao-Ping-Hsi Cable-Stayed Bridge simply based on ambient vibration measurements. To further attain the goal of scour monitoring, a key challenge comes from the interference of several environmental factors that may also significantly alter the pier frequencies without the change of scour depth. Consequently, this study attempts to investigate the variation in certain modal frequencies of this bridge induced by several environmental factors. Four sets of pier vibration measurements were taken either during the season of plum rains, under regular summer days without rain, or in a period of typhoon. These signals are analyzed with the stochastic subspace identification and empirical mode decomposition techniques. The variations of the identified modal frequencies are then compared with those of the corresponding traffic load, air temperature, and water level. Comparison of the analyzed results elucidates that both the traffic load and the environmental temperature are negatively correlated with the bridge frequencies. However, the traffic load is clearly a more dominant factor to alternate the identified bridge deck frequency than the environmental temperature. The pier modes are also influenced by the passing traffic on the bridge deck, even though with a weaker correlation. In addition, the variation of air temperature follows a similar tendency as that of the passing traffic, but its effect on changing the bridge frequencies is obviously not as significant. As for the effect from the alternation of water level, it is observed that the frequency baselines of the pier modes may positively correlate with the water level during the seasons of plum rains and typhoon.

This study was performed for make the plan of large residential zone considering reduction of the traffic noise and landscape, to meet the demand of resident who pursuit the amenity. For the first time, suitable traffic noise prediction model was selected and modified. Also, quantitative analysis of the traffic noise reductor was performed. These results are utilized plan of large residential zone efficiently.

It is needed to assess the impact of the road traffic noise for city planning. In Korea, the current noise impact assessment h3s not yet considered the impacts of the multiple reflection, the deflection and the ground attenuation caused by buildings and other obstacles. A noise map is useful tool to solve this problems. But before everything else, suitability of noise map must be assessed for variety of geometry conditions. In this study, we assessed suitability of road traffic noise map by compared measured noise levels with predicted noise levels from each road traffic noise map for Site A, B and C.

In this study, the influences of environmentally friendly visual and auditory information on traffic noise perception were surveyed by the using electroencephalogram Green rural region image and CBD image in urban city were used as visual informations. And traffic noise, signal and environmental music were used to detect the impact on electroencephalogram variance. It was revealed that green rural region image caused a-wave ratio increase about 10% and environmental music increased $\alpha$-wave ratio approximately $40{\sim}50%$. The results of this study improved that environmentally friendly visual and auditory information had an effect on decreasing traffic noise loudness to some extents.
