This study was performed to evaluate the mechanical properties of light-cured restorative composites by compression and indentation tests. Five commercially available light-activated composites (Heliomolar : HM, Aelitefil : AF, Amelogen : AG, Clearfil AP-X : CF, Z100 ZH) were used Disc specimens of 12mm in diameter and 1 mm in thickness and Cylindrical specimens of 3mm in diameter and 6mm in length were prepared for the indentation and compressive test, respectively. All specimens were immersed in distilled water at $37^{\circ}C$ for 30 days. An indentation test of 68-degree trigonal diamond pyramid was made under 10 g load for 15 seconds and an Knoop indentation test was made under 50 g load for 15 seconds. Hardness numbers, characteristic indentation depths and permanent deformation were measured during indentation of the 68-degree trigonal diamond pyramid compressive test was carried out at a crosshead speed of 0.5mm/min. The results obtained were summarized as follows, 1. The highest hardness value was obtained in the CF group and the lowest value was obtained in the HM group. Hardness values showed no significant, difference between AG group and HM group but other groups showed the significant differences in each group(p<0.05). 2. Hardness number by Knoop pyramid were higher than those of 68-degree trigonal diamond pyramid. 3. Plastic deformation during the indentation of 68-degree trigonal diamond pyramid was the lowest in the CF group and the largest in the HM group. Results of Tukey test showed the significant difference between CF group and others; also between ZH and AF groups and AG and HM groups(p<0.05) 4. The highest compressive strength was obtained in the CF group and the lowest compressive strength was obtained in the ZH group. Compressive strength values showed no significant difference between CF group and ZH group but other groups showed the significant differences in each group(p<0.05).

In this paper, a scheme to evaluate the response variability for functionally graded material (FGM) beam with varying sectional area is presented. The randomness is assumed to appear in a spatial domain along the beam axis in the elastic modulus. The functionally graded material categorized as composite materials, however without the drawbacks of delamination and occurrence of cracks due to abrupt change in material properties between layers in the conventional composite materials. The functionally graded material is produced by the gradual solidification through thickness direction, which endows continuous variation of material properties, which makes this material performs in a smooth way. However, due to difficulties in tailoring the gradients, to have uncertainty in material properties is unavoidable. The elastic modulus at the center section is assumed to be random in the spatial domain along the beam axis. Introducing random variables, defined in terms of stochastic integration, the first and second moments of responses are evaluated. The proposed scheme is verified by using the Monte Carlo simulation based on the random samples generated employing the spectral representation scheme. The response variability as a function of correlation distance, the effects of material and geometrical parameters on the response variability are investigated in detail. The efficiency of the proposed scheme is also addressed by comparing the analysis time of the proposed scheme and MCS.

The archival objects are tangible evidence related to the public service. They are unique and offer information representing the specific events, time or person. The archival objects as modern cultural heritage do not have the guideline to classify, manage and conserve them. Especially, it is difficult to apply general conservation process for burial artifacts, because there are few study example of conservation for metal archival objects and they have complex administrative value. We tried to find suitable material and application method for consolidation of copper alloy archival object. We choose three kinds of wax and acrylic resin for burial artifacts and had done comparative analysis of their characterizations following kinds and coating methods. As a result of evaluation by several surface analysis such as optical microscope, measuring film thickness, adhesive strength, contact angle and yellowing test, acrylic resin can use to archival objects of copper alloy, effectively but the method of heating after dip-coating with Wax B used before can get best effect of consolidation.
Parallel imaging technique can provide several advantages for a multitude of MRI applications. Especially, in SENSE technique, sensitivity maps were always required in order to determine the reconstruction matrix, therefore, a number of difference approaches using sensitivity information from coils have been demonstrated to improve of image quality. Moreover, many filtering methods were proposed such as adaptive matched filter and nonlinear diffusion technique to optimize the suppression of background noise and to improve of image quality. In this study, we performed SENSE reconstruction using computer simulations to confirm the most suitable method for the feasibility of filtering effect and according to changing order of polynomial fit that were applied on variation of spatial resolution of sensitivity map. The image was obtained at 0.32T(Magfinder II, Genpia, Korea) MRI system using spin-echo pulse sequence(TR/TE = 500/20 ms, FOV = 300 mm, matrix = $128{\times}128$, thickness = 8 mm). For the simulation, obtained image was multiplied with four linear-array coil sensitivities which were formed of 2D-gaussian distribution and the image was complex white gaussian noise was added. Image processing was separated to apply two methods which were polynomial fitting and filtering according to spatial resolution of sensitivity map and each coil image was subsampled corresponding to reduction factor(r-factor) of 2 and 4. The results were compared to mean value of geomety factor(g-factor) and artifact power(AP) according to r-factor 2 and 4. Our results were represented while changing of spatial resolution of sensitivity map and r-factor, polynomial fit methods were represented the better results compared with general filtering methods. Although our result had limitation of computer simulation study instead of applying to experiment and coil geometric array such as linear, our method may be useful for determination of optimal sensitivity map in a linear coil array.

A reliable detection of regions in radiography is one of the most important task before the evaluation of defects on welded joints. The extracted features is to be classified into distinctive clusters for each segmented region. But conventional segmentation techniques give unsatisfactory results for this task due to the spatial superposition of intensity and low signal-to-ratio(SNR) in radiographic images. The usage of global or local processes not only provide the necessary noise resistance but also fail in classification of regions. In this paper, we presents an appropriate approach for segmentation of region-based indications in industrial Computed Radiography(CR) images. The geometric differences between welded and non-welded area which is generated on radiography as the representative regions(background, thickness, middle and welded region in steel tube image) have constructed the hierarchical structure. Although this structure is contaminated by noise, the scheme between regions can be selected by the help of local clustering based on distinctive geometric property of each region. Because of the geometric nature of the considered region and so that the region is selected layer by layer, and that the real class represents the boundary between regions, the vertical and horizontal clustering process in each layer must be judicious. In order to show the effectiveness of this approach, a comparative experiment of various segmentation method is performed on industrial steel tube CR images.

Global solar radiation was calculated in this research using ground-base measurement data, meteorological satellite data, and GWNU (Gangneung-Wonju National University) solar radiation model. We also analyzed the accuracy of the GWNU model by comparing the observed solar radiation according to the total cloud cover. Our research was based on the global solar radiation of the GWNU radiation site in 2012, observation data such as temperature and pressure, humidity, aerosol, total ozone amount data from the Ozone Monitoring Instrument (OMI) sensor, and Skyview data used for evaluation of cloud mask and total cloud cover. On a clear day when the total cloud cover was 0 tenth, the calculated global solar radiations using the GWNU model had a high correlation coefficient of 0.98 compared with the observed solar radiation, but root mean square error (RMSE) was relatively high, i.e., $36.62Wm^{-2}$. The Skyview equipment was unable to determine the meteorological condition such as thin clouds, mist, and haze. On a cloudy day, regression equations were used for the radiation model to correct the effect of clouds. The correlation coefficient was 0.92, but the RMSE was high, i.e., $99.50Wm^{-2}$. For more accurate analysis, additional analysis of various elements including shielding of the direct radiation component and cloud optical thickness is required. The results of this study can be useful in the area where the global solar radiation is not observed by calculating the global solar radiation per minute or time.

Urethane waterproofing materials which currently being used most commonly in the Korean domestic market have high applicability and construct layers without forming any joints, but under the influence of low temperature and low humidity, as well as the thickness of the applied layer, the curing time of this material may become extended in construction sites. To resolve these issues, a proposed method of using water-hardening type of polyurethane waterproofing materials are being developed. However, there currently lacks any standards or evaluation methods on determining an optimal mixture ratio of water for the water-hardening polyurethane waterproofing materials. Therefore, workers and construction workers are relying on their hands-on-skills and experience to determine this ratio and are not able to obtain a consistent performance quality out of these materials. Therefore, for the establishment of a board applicability of the water-hardening polyurethane waterproofing methods in construction sites, this study objectively analyzes the changes in the performance of these materials depending on the changes of the water mixture ratio and attempts to procure the optimal ratio on the basis of forming a provisionary standard. The study prepares mixtures of varying ratio(no water added, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40 and 50) and conducts comparative analysis respective mixtures' performances and their changes in the physical properties in an objective manner and proposes a provisional optimal value that can serve as a data base that can be used as a reference for future studies.

The diagnostic multi-leaf collimator preventing unnecessary dose from entering into patients during the diagnostic examination was made in this study. The movement of the entire 50 leaves was embodied with the group of 25 ones thereof configured in a pair facing each other on the left and right of the median line. Dimensions of the length, width, and height of each shielding leaf were $5{\times}0.5{\times}0.5cm^3$ resulting in the maximum boost field of $10{\times}10cm^2$. The material of multi-leaf collimator had the excellence on the machinability with the use of the SKD-11 alloy tool steel having the high wear resistance against frequent movement, and it was devised to control both-side's shielding leaves by moving 2 motors unlike existing remedial multi-leaf collimator that use as many motors as the number of 50 shielding leaves. Thereafter, the transmission dose of leaves, cross-leaf leakage dose, and inter-leaf leakage dose were measured by the developed multi-leaf collimator attached to X-ray equipment. An ionization chamber was used to detect doses there from, and the comparative analysis was carried out by means of the radiographic film that was easy to detect the dose leakage in between each leaf. Results obtained from the test conducted in comparative analysis yielded approximately 98%, 96%, and 94% of shielding efficiency realized at each level of energy of 80kV, 100kV, and 120kV it was confirmed there was no dose leakage resulted from the varied level of irradiation energy. Thus the multi-leaf collimator to be developed based on this study is thought that it could fully reduce the unnecessary dose to patients in the diagnostic test and the shielding efficiency thereof is expected to be increasing if it is made in a miniaturized form with a way of increasing the thickness of each leaf later for an extended application to general diagnostic purposes.

We have manufactured and evaluated reference samples for the use of low magnetic moment measurements. Before the measurements, SQUID magnetometers were magnetically shielded from external magnetic noise. We considered the purity including magnetic impurities, the optimum thickness, the modification method, and the shape in the preparation of the samples. Three paramagnetic polycrystaline metal plates of Ti, W, and Al with the area of $4mm{\times}6mm$ were prepared finally. The magnetic moments of these three samples are measured very linear up to the field of 5 T without magnetic hysteresis. The temperature deviated ratios of the magnetic moments for Ti, Al, and W from 290 K to 310 K are 0.7, 1.5, and 0.1 %, respectively. The measured magnetic moments for Ti and W samples by our research team are very well agreeable with those by two SQUID magnetometers and a VSM at Quantum Design via international round robin test. The results suggest that the prepared reference samples are well suited for the use in the low magnetic moment measurement with SQUID based magnetometers.
Objective: There are limited data regarding the significance of elevated serum CA-125 level during IUI cycles, even though it is used widely during the initial evaluation of infertile patients. The aim of this study was to investigate the prognostic value of serum CA-125 levels during IUI cycles. Methods: Among the patients with controlled ovarian stimulation and IUI cycles at Seoul National University Hospital from Jan 2005 through Dec 2009, 92 cases with no identified endometriotic lesion, ovarian tumor, salpingeal lesion, or uterine myoma were selected. To compare the clinical characteristics between the pregnancy group and the non-pregnancy group, the Mann-Whitney U test and Fisher's exact test were used. Results: The overall pregnancy rate was 18.5% (17/92). The pregnancy group showed a higher number of follicles 16 mm in diameter ($p$=0.036), endometrial thickness ($p$ <0.001), ampules of gonadotropin ($p$=0.009), and higher body mass index ($p$=0.022) than the non-pregnancy group. No significant difference was observed in the serum CA-125 level or the proportion of patients with CA-125 exceeding 17 IU/mL between the two groups. Conclusion: The prognostic value of serum CA-125 level among infertile patients with IUI cycles is considered limited.
