A Study on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Modified 9Cr-1Mo and 9Cr-0.5Mo-2W Steels for nuclear Power Plant (원자력용 개량 9Cr-1Mo 및 9Cr-0.5Mo-2W 강의 미세조직과 기계적 특성 연구)

  • Microstructure and mechanical properties of Mod.9Cr-1Mo and W added 9Cr-0.5Mo2W steels were investigated for liquid metal reactor (LMR) heat exchange tube. The tempering temperatures at which cell structure was formed were $700^{\circ}C$ for Mod.9Cr-1Mo steel and $750^{\circ}C$ for W added 9Cr0.5Mo-2W steel. indicating the recovery of dislocation was delayed by the addition of W. 9Cr-0.5Mo-2W steel had the same kinds of precipitates with Mod.9Cr-1Mo steel, but the W was included in the precipitates in 9Cr-0.5Mo-2W steel. Micro-hardness and ultimate tensile strength of 9Cr-0.5Mo-2W steel were higher than those of Mod.9Cr-1Mo steel. The impact property of Mod.9Cr-1Mo steel was superior to that of 9Cr-0.5Mo-2W steel.

Na3PO4 Flame Retardant Treatment on Lyocell Fiber for Thermal Stability and Anti-oxidation Properties (라이오셀의 열 안정 및 내산화 특성 향상을 위한 Na3PO4 내염화 처리)

  • The improved thermal stability and anti-oxidation properties of lyocell fiber were studied based on flame retardant treatment by using $Na_3PO_4$ solution. The optimized conditions of flame retardant treatment were studied on various concentrations of $Na_3PO_4$ and the mechanism was proposed through experimental results of thermal stability and anti-oxidation. The integral procedural decomposition temperature (IPDT), limiting oxygen index (LOI) and activation energy ($E_a$) increased 30, 160% respectively via flame retardant treatment. It is noted that thermal stability and anti-oxidation improved based on char and carbon layer formation by dehydrogenation and dissociation of C-C bond resulting the hindrance of oxygen and heat energy into polymer resin. The optimized conditions for efficient flame retardant property of lyocell fiber were provided using $Na_3PO_4$ solution and the mechanism was also studied based on experimental results such as initial decomposition temperature (IDT), IPDT, LOI and $E_a$.

  • It is the Mobile Ad Hoc Networks that constituted with serveral mobile node that can communicate with other mobile nodes. Until now, there were no routing protocols considering such as Multimediadata, VOD (Video On Demand), which is required of lots of bandwidth in Mobile Ad Hoc Network, io we are in the need of QoS (Quality of Service)routing protocol to transmit the data packets faster and more accurate. Also, there are an unidirectional links due to asymmetric property of mobile terminals or current wireless environments on practical mobile ad hoc networks. However, at present, the existing mobile ad hoc routing protocols are implemented to support only bidirectional links. In this paper, we propose the Advanced Routing routing protocol in order to implement a new routing protocol, which is fit to mobile ad hoc networks containing unidirectional links and to support QoS service. For the performance evaluation, we use NS-2 simulator of U.C. Berkeley. We could get not only increased received data rate and decreased average route discovery time, but also network load decreases with compared Best effort service.

Shelf-life of Prepacked Kimbab and Sandwiches Marketed in Convenience Stores at Refrigerated Condition (편의점에서 판매되는 김밥 및 샌드위치의 냉장조건에서의 유통기한)

  • This study was designed to estimate self-life of Kimbab and sandwiches marketed in convenience store. While the 12 different type of Kimbab (n=6) and sandwiches (n=6) were kept at $10^{\circ}C$ for 72 hours, quality changes including volatile basic nitrogen, aerobic plate count, pathogens detection and sensorial property was monitored, and effective quality indicators were selected. Volatile basic nitrogen, indicator for protein deterioration was slightly increased during storage periods in all samples. E. coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella spp. and Vibrio parahaemolyticus were not detected from any of samples. Change of aerobic plate count of Kimbab and sandwiches were increased moderately but increased dramatically after 48 hours of storage. Overall acceptability were maintained over 5, purchasing power limit, for 40 hours in 4 general Kimbab, 48 hours in 2 samgak Kimbab and 42 hours in 2 sandwiches. Shelf-life of each item was calculated from regression equation between reference limit from effective quality indicators, aerobic plate count and sensory property, and storage period. Estimated shelf-lives of general Kimbab were $15{\sim}33$ hours, samgak Kimbab were 32 hours and sandwiches were $27{\sim}30$ hours at $10^{\circ}C$ refrigerated condition.

pH, Titratable Acidity, Glucose Content, Viable Cell Counting and Sensory Evaluation of Bifidobacterium longum ATCC 15707 Containing Milk and Soymilk During Cold Storage (냉장 유통시 Bifidobacterium longum ATCC 15707을 함유한 우유와 두유에서 pH, 적정산도, glucose 함량, 생균수 변화 및 관능검사)

  • The chemical and microbial properties and acceptability of milk and soymilk inoculated with Bifidobacterium were studied at each storage time (0, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 days). Soymilk, milk, low-heat milk, low-fat milk, non-fat dry milk with Bifidobacterium longum ATCC 15707 were incubated in a nitrogen-carbon dioxide atmosphere at $4^{\circ}C$ for 30 days. pH and acidity of all the samples were in the range of $pH\;6.6{\sim}pH\;6.9$ and $0.4%{\sim}0.55%$ for 30 days, respectively. The viable cell numbers in non-fat dry milk reached above $8.4{\times}10^9\;CFU/mL$ after 15 days. The glucose content in soymilk was $4.5{\times}10^{-2}{\sim}5.5{\times}10^{-2}\;mM$ at 10 days of storage. Milk and soymilk containing B. longum at $4^{\circ}C$ were found to be different in taste, odor, off-flavor at each storage time (0, 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 days). Sensory scores indicated that milk containing bifidobacteria was poorly affected by the storage time, but milk at 4 days of storage was quite close in odor and off-flavor to milk with storage time 0. Soymilk containing bifidobacteria at 2 and 4 days of storage had significantly higher acceptability of taste than soymilk with storage time 0.

  • In the present study, disc-type LSCF/GDC (20 : 80 vol%) dual-phase membranes having porous LSC/GDC (50 : 50 vol%) active layers were prepared and effect of active layers on oxygen ion transport behavior was investigated. Introduction of active layers improved drastically oxygen flux due to enhanced electron conductivity and oxygen surface exchange activity. As firing temperature of active layer increased from $900^{\circ}C$ to $1000^{\circ}C$, oxygen flux increased due to improved contact between membrane and active layer or between grains of active layer. The enhanced contact would improve oxygen ion and electron transports from active layer to membrane. Also, as thickness of active layer increased from 10 to $20{\mu}m$, oxygen flux decreased since thick active layer rather prevented oxygen molecules diffusing through the pores. And, STF infiltration improved oxygen flux due to enhanced oxygen reduction reaction rate. The experimental data announces that coating and property control of active layer is an effective method to improve oxygen flux of dual-phase oxygen transport membrane.

Effects of Organic Acids on Textural Properties and Storage Stabilities of Long Life Noodles (유기산의 첨가에 따른 Long Life 면의 조직감과 저장 안정성)

  • The influence of organic acid dips on the quality properties, color, cooking quality, textural and sensory properties, and reducing microbial population of LL(Long Life) noodles was studied. The contents of organic acid used were 0.2% based on flour weight and LL noodles were treated by dipping in pH $2.5{\pm}0.1$ for $60{\sim}90sec$. The whiteness of LL noodles treated with dl-malic acid was higher than that of others. The shear extrusion force and hardness of LL noodles treated with dl-malic acid were shown much higher value than those of others except treated with dl-malic acid. acetic acid(=1:1). At cooking quality examination of LL noodles treated with organic acids, weight of cooked LL noodles treated with dl-malic acid was decrease but volume was appeared in vice versa. Extraction amounts of LL noodles treated with dl-malic acid, dl-malic acid : acetic acid(=1:1) during cooking were much smaller than those of others. Total counts of microorganism of LL noodles treated with dl-malic acid,dl-malic acid. acetic acid(=1:1) were disappeared during storage at $30^{\circ}C$ but treated with latic acid, acetic acid were increase during storage. Sensory properties of cooked LL noodles which was treated with dl-malic acid showed quite acceptable.

  • A system-on-a-chip (SoC) design uses pre-verified IP hardware blocks in order to reduce design time. We need interface circuits to connect IPs with different protocols. In SoC design we should design interface circuits frequently and these tasks are somewhat time-consuming and error-prone. So it is necessary to generate the interface circuits automatically. Several studies have been made on generating interface circuits only from the communication protocols of IPs. With existing approaches, it is not easy to generate interface circuits connecting two IPs only from communication protocols: connection between IP with address and W without address, connection between IP with only one port to transfer address/data and IP with different ports for address and data connection between IP that transfer address and data together and IP that transfer only one address with a number of data in a burst. No consideration of various characteristics of IPs and no changed algorithm are responsible for it. In order to solve this problem, the proposed approach categorizes communication protocols of IPs, and takes characteristics matching of IPs into account during the interface synthesis. In experiments, we show that we could correctly generate and verify interface circuits for IPs with different characteristics.

Soft Magnetic Properties of CoFeHfO Thin Films (CoFeHfO 박막의 자기적 특성)

  • Amorphous alloys of Co-rich magnetic amorphous films are well known as thpical soft magnetic alloys. They are used for many kinds of electric and electronic parts such as magnetic recording heads, transformers and inductors. CoFeHfO thin films were prepared by RF magnetron reactive sputtering. The films were deposited onto Si(100) substrates with a power of 300 W at room temperature. The reactive gas was introduced up to 10% ($O_2$/(Ar + $O_2$)) during deposition, and the $Co_{39}Fe_{34}Hf_{9.5}O_{17.5}$ thin film exhibit excellent soft magnetic properties : saturation magnetization ($4{\pi}M_s$) of 19kG, magnetic coercivity ($H_c$) of 0.37 Oe, anisotropy field ($H_k$) of 48.62 Oe, and an electrical property is also shown to be as high as 300 ${\mu}{\Omega}cm$. It is assumed that the good soft magnetic properties of $Co_{39}Fe_{34}Hf_{9.5}O_{17.5}$ thin film results from high electrical resistivity and large anisotropy field.

Cell Cycle Arrest by Treatment of D-Ala2-Leu5-enkephalin in Human Leukemia Cancer U937 Cell. (인체혈구암세포 U937의 D-Ala2-Leu5-enkephalin처리에 의한 세포 주기 억제 효과)

  • D-Ala2-Leu5-enkephalin (DADLE), a hibernation inducer, can induce hibernation-like state in vivo and in vitro. We treated U937 human leukemia cancer cells with DADLE and investigated its possible effect on transcription and proliferation. Treatment of U937 cells with DADLE resulted in growth inhibition and induction of apoptotic cell death on high-dose as measured by MTT assay and DNA flow cytometer analysis. Bcl-XL, c-IAP-2 and survivin genes especially showed decreases in mRNA levels. DADLE treatment also inhibited the levels of cyclooxygenase (COX)-2 mRNA without alteration of COX-1 expression. DNA flow cytometer analysis revealed that DADLE caused arrest of the cell cycle on low-dose, which was associated with a down-regulation of cyclin E at the transcriptional level. DADLE treatment induced a marked down-regulation of cyclin-dependent kinase (Cdk)-2, -4 and -6. In addition, treatment with DADLE decreased telomere associated genes such as, c-myc and TERT, and increased TEP-1 in U937 cells. These results suggest that DADLE can be an inhibition agent in the cell cycle of the human leukemia cancer U937 cell.
