적출 심근의 칼륨경축에 대한 칼슘이온 효과 (Effect of $Ca^{++}$ on High K-induced Contracture of Isolated Frog Ventricular Muscle)

  • The sufficient myoplasmic $Ca^{++}$ to react with the contractile proteins is necessary to induce contraction of a cardiac muscle. These $Ca^{++}$ for the production of muscle contraction are supplied from the three recognized $Ca^{++}$ sources; internal $Ca^{++}$ release via the sarcoplasmic reticulum(SR), $Ca^{++}$ influx through a gated Ca-channel in the membrane as a Isi, and $Ca^{++}$ transport by the mechanism of Na/ca exchange. However, it is still controversial which $Ca^{++}$ sources act as a main contributor for myoplasmic $Ca^{++}$, Therefore, this study was undertaken in order to examine the $Ca^{++}$ sources for the contraction of frog ventricle. There is evidence that the SR is sparse in frog ventricular fibers, and that T-tubules are absent. Isolated ventricular strips of frog, Rana nigromaculata, were used in this experiment. Isometric tension was recorded by force transducer, and membrane potentials of ventricular muscles were measured through the intracellular glass microelectrodes, which were filled with 3M KCI and had resistance of $30{\pm}50M{\Omega}$. All experiments were performed at room temperature in a tris·buffered Ringer solution which was aerated with 100% $O_2$. Isotonic high K, low Na solution was used to induce K-contracture, K-contracture appeared at the concentration of 20 to 30mM-KCI and was potentiated in parallel with the increase in KCI concentration. The contracture had two components: an initial rapid phasic and a subsequent slow tonic contractile responses. Membrane Potentials measured at normal Ringer solution(2.5mM KCI) was -90 to -100 mV, and decreased linearly as the KCI concentration increased; -55mV at 20mM.KCI, -45mV at 30 mM.KCI, -30 mY at 50 mM.KCI, and -12 mV at 100 mM.KCI. K-contracture was evoked firstly at the membrane potential of -45 mV. The contracture was potentiated by the increase of bathing extracellular $Ca^{++}$ concentration. However, in the absence of $Ca^{++}$ the contracture was almost not induced by 50 mM.KCI solution. Caffeine(20mM) in normal Ringer solution, which is known to release $Ca^{++}$ from SR without substantial effects on the $Ca^{++}$ fluxes across the surface membrane, did not affect membrane potential and also not initiate contracture, but the caffeine in 20 mM-KCI Ringer solution produced a contracture. Above results suggest that the main $Ca^{++}$ source for the K·contracture of frog ventricle is $Ca^{++}$ influx through the voltage-dependent Ca-channel, and that in the K-contracture at the concentration of 100 mM-KCI, the mechanism of Na/ca exchange also partly contributs, in addition to the $Ca^{++}$ influx.

제미니형 비이온 반응성 계면활성제를 이용한 수성접착제의 제조 및 특성 (Preparation and Properties of Water-based Adhesive Using Gemini Type Nonionic Reactive Surfactants)

  • 수용성 접착제의 접착력을 향상시키기 위해 제미니형 비이온 반응성 계면활성제를 합성하여 수계 접착제에 적용하였다. 제미니형 비이온 반응성 계면활성제는 말레산 및 에틸렌옥사이드의 부가몰수가 다른 폴리 옥시 에틸렌 세틸 에테르를 사용하여 합성하였다. 합성된 계면활성제는 FT-IR 및 $^1H-NMR$에 의해 확인되었다. 합성된 화합물은 밝은 노란색 왁스의 형상이었고, 화합물의 운점은 $78^{\circ}C$ 이상이었다. 측정된 임계 미셀 농도(c.m.c)는 $1.0{\times}10^{-4}{\sim}7.0{\times}10^{-4}mol/L$이었고 표면장력은 25.9~32.0 mN/m이었다. 에틸렌옥사이드의 부가몰수가 증가함에 따라 유화력이 향상되었다. Ross-Miles 법에 의한 화합물의 발포 높이는 1.4~4.5 cm이었다. 본 연구에서 합성된 계면활성제는 수성 접착제의 유화 중합에서 유화제로 사용되었으며 그 물성을 평가하였다. 준비된 접착제의 고체 함량은 59%이었다. 접착제의 평균입자크기는 164~297 nm이었다. 접착제의 초기 점착성의 볼 번호는 20~32이었으며, 박리 강도는 $1.8{\sim}2.1kg_f/mm$이었다. 점도 유지율은 30 days 동안 99%로 확인되었다. 합성된 제미니형 비이온 반응성 계면활성제는 점착력을 위한 유화제로 사용될 것으로 기대된다.

수치해석을 통한 해상 Ship-to-Ship 계류 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Offshore Ship-to-Ship Mooring Characteristics through Numerical Analysis)

  • 최근 액체화물운반선 운송량이 증가함에 따라 국내외에서 해상환적(Ship-to-ship)에 대한 필요성이 대두되고 있다. STS 계류의 경우, 일반적인 부두에서의 계류와 그 특성이 다르기 때문에 다른 기준으로 안전성 검토가 이루어져야 하지만, 국내에서는 별도의 기준이 부재한 상황이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 STS계류의 특성을 파악하기 위해 상용 수치해석프로그램인 OPTIMOOR 프로그램 이용한 STS 계류 시뮬레이션 및 민감도 분석을 시행하였다. 대상해역은 여수항의 D2 정박지를 모델링하였으며, 대상 선박의 모델링은 VLCC-VLCC의 Case로 선정하였다. 이 수치해석과 민감도 분석을 통하여 STS 계류의 특성을 파악하고자 하였으며 이를 바탕으로 STS 계류안전성 평가에 대한 기준을 확립하고자 하였다. 수치해석 시뮬레이션 결과, STS 계류는 선박 재화상태, 기상상태(파주기 및 파고영향) 및 만남각, 그리고 계류삭의 초기장력 등에 따라 변화함을 확인하였다. 또한 Risk Matrix를 작성하여 해당 해역에서의 안전외력범위를 설정하였다. 이 결과를 통해 STS의 계류 특성을 파악할 수 있으며, 계류안전성 평가 기준을 개정에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

Stress analysis of high-temperature superconducting wire under electrical/magnetic/bending loads

  • The Second-generation high-temperature superconducting (HTS) Rare-Earth Barium Copper Oxide (REBCO) wire is a composite laminate having a multi-layer structure (8 or more layers). HTS wires will undergo multiple loads including the bending-tension loads during winding, high current density, and high magnetic fields. In particular, the wires are subjected to bending stress and magnetic field stress because HTS wires are wound around a circular bobbin when making a high-field magnetic. Each of the different laminated wires inevitably exhibits damage and fracture behavior of wire due to stress deformation, mismatches in thermal, physical, electrical, and magnetic properties. Therefore, when manufacturing high-field magnets and other applications, it is necessary to calculate the stress-strain experienced by high-temperature superconducting wire to present stable operating conditions in the product's use environment. In this study, the finite element model (FEM) was used to simulate the strain-stress characteristics of the HTS wire under high current density and magnetic field, and bending loads. In addition, the result of obtaining the neutral axis of the wire and the simulation result was compared with the theoretical calculation value and reviewed. As a result of the simulation using COMSOL Multiphysics, when a current of 100 A was applied to the wire, the current value showed the difference of 10-9. The stress received by the wire was 501.9 MPa, which showed a theoretically calculated value of 500 MPa and difference of 0.38% between simulation and theoretical method. In addition, the displacement resulted is 30.0012 ㎛, which is very similar to the theoretically calculated value of 30 ㎛. Later, the amount of bending stress by the circular mandrel was received for each layer and the difference with the theoretically obtained the neutral axis result was compared and reviewed. This result will be used as basic data for manufacturing high-field magnets because it can be expanded and analyzed even in the case of wire with magnetic flux pinning.

실험적 전치 정출시 원숭이 하악 치주 조직의 변화 (HISTOLOGIC CHANGES IN MANDIBULAR PERIODONTIUM OF THE MONKEY FOLLOWING EXPERIMENTAL EXTRUSION OF ANTERIOR TEETH)

  • 본 연구는 영구치열이 완성된 원숭이 2마리를 실험 동물로 선정하여 전치간 수직 고무와 연속 호선에 의한 개교 치료 기전으로 수직피개도가 증가하였을 때, 하악 치주 조직의 조직학적 변화를 고찰하였다. 상악에 구치부 교합거상판을 장착시켜 일시적인 전치부 개교 상태를 유발하면서 상악을 고정원으로 안정화하였고, 하악에는 양측 제2대구치를 발거한 후 나머지 모든 치아에 주조금관을 제작하였다. 각 주조금관에 018inch 표준 브라켓을 납착하여 구내 고정하고, 대조동물에는 $016{\times}022$inch의 ideal archwire를, 실험동물에는 같은 크기의 MEAW(multiloop edgewise archwire)를 삽입하였다. 2주 동안 전치간 수직 고무를 적용하고 희생하였으며, 하악 치주 조직 표본을 관찰한 결과, 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 2주간의 실험 기간 동안 수직피개도는 대조동물에서 0.3mm, 실험동물에서 1.3mm 증가되었다. 2. 대조동물과 실험동물 모두 중절치로부터 제1소구치까지는 정출력을 받고, 제2소구치와 제1대구치는 압하력을 받은 것으로 나타났다. 3. 실험동물의 정출된 하악 절치부 치주인대는 대조군에 비하여 견인 방향에 따른 섬유 구조의 재배열이 두드러지고, 치근단과 치조정부 및 치근 측면 치조골에서 신생골 형성이 현저하였다. 4. 실험동물의 정출된 하악 절치부 치주인대의 견인력이 분포한 영역에서 과도한 치근 흡수나 초자양 변성은 관찰되지 않았다. 5. 전치부와 구치부의 치조골면에서의 골개조 현상이 대조동물에 비해서 실험동물에서 더 뚜렷하였다.

인삼정천탕(人蔘定喘湯)이 호흡기계(呼吸器系)에 미치는 영향(影響) (Effects of Insamjungchuntang on the Respiratory System in Experimental Animals)

  • Insamjungchuntang has been used in Korea for many centuries as a treatment for respiratory disease. The effect of Insamjungchuntang on tracheal smooth muscle is not known. The purpose of the present study is to determine the effect of Insamjungchuntang on histamine and acetylcholine induced tracheal smooth muscle contraction in rats and guinea pigs. Guinea pig (500 g, male) and Sprague Dawley rats (200 g, male) were killed by $CO_2$ exposure and a segment (8-10 mm) of the thoracic trachea from each rat and guinea pig was cut into equal segments and mounted 'in pairs' in a tissue bath. Contractile force was measured with force displacement transducers under 0.5 g loading tension. The dose of histamine (His) and acetylcholine (Ach) which evoked 50% of maximal response $(ED_{50})$ was obtained from cumulative dose response curves for histamine and acetylcholine$(10^{-7}{\sim}10^{-4}\;M)$. Contractions evoked by His ($ED_{50}$) and Ach $(ED_{50})$ were inhibited significantly by Insamjungchuntang. In guinea pig tracheal smooth muscle, the mean percent inhibition of acetylcholine induced contraction was $38.58\(p<0.05)\;after\;10{\mu}l/ml$ Insamjungchuntang, $90.75\(p<0.01)\;after\;30{\mu}l/ml$. Insamjungchuntang and $133.17\(p<0.01)\;after\;100{\mu}l/ml$ Insamjungchuntang. In rat tracheal smooth muscle, the mean percent inhibition of acetylcholine induced contraction was $10.0\(p<0.05)\;after\;10{\mu}l/ml$ Insamjungchuntang, $80.71\(p<0.01)\;after\;30{\mu}/ml$ Insamjungchuntang and $118.29\(p<0.01)\;after\;100{\mu}l/ml$ Insamjungchuntang. Also, in guinea pig tracheal smooth muscle, the mean percent inhibition of histamine induced contraction was $45.5\(p<0.01)\;after\;10{\mu}l/ml$ lnsamjungchuntang, and $93.17\(p<0.01)\;after\;30{\mu}l/ml$. lnsamjungchuntang $134.50\(p<0.01)\;after\;100{\mu}l/ml$ Insamjungchuntang. In rat tracheal smooth muscle, the mean percent inhibition of histamine induced contraction was $37.83\(p<0.01)\;after\;10{\mu}l/ml$ lnsamjungchuntang, $90.5\(p<0.01)\;after\;30{\mu}l/ml$ Insamjungchuntang and $135.17\(p<0.01)\;after\;100{\mu}l/ml$ Insamjungchuntang. Propranolol $(10^{-7}\;M)$ slightly but significantly attenuated the inhibitory effects of Insamjungchuntang. Following treatment with propranolol, the mean percent inhibition caused by $100{\mu}l/ml$. Insamjungchuntang fell to 46.42% in guinea pig induced by acetylcholine contraction and by $100{\mu}l/ml$ Insamjungchuntang fell to 5.43% (p<0.05) in rat induced by acetylcholine contraction and the mean percent inhibition caused by $100{\mu}l/ml$ Insamjungchuntang fell to 49.0% in guinea pig induced by histamine contraction and by $100{\mu}l/ml$ Insamjungchuntang fell to 48.6% (p<0.05) in rat induced by histamine contraction. Indomethacin and methylene blue $(10^{-7}\;M)$ did not significantly alter the inhibitory effect of lnsamjungchuntang. Also, I could find the effects of lnsamjungchuntang and Insamjungchuntanggamorphine on the tracheal smooth muscle in guinea pig and rat did not change significantly. These results indicate that Insamjungchuntang can relax histamine and acetylcholine-induced contraction of guinea pig and rat tracheal smooth muscle, and that this inhibition involves sympathetic effects.

거제도 동부에 분포하는 고제3기 암맥군: 절대연대와 지구조적 의미 (Paleogene dyke swarms in the eastern Geoje Island, Korea: their absolute ages and tectonic implications)

  • 거제도 동부 일운면 일대에는 백악기 말의 화강섬록암을 관입하고 있는 고제3기 암맥들이 발달한다. 이 암맥들은 북서 방향의 산성 암맥군과 서북서(A그룹)와 남북 내지 북북동 방향(B그룹)의 염기성 암맥군들로 구분된다. 야외 횡절관계를 근거하면 산성 암맥군이 가장 먼저 관입하였으며 다음으로 A그룹과 B그룹이 관입하였다. 산성 암맥군은 백악기 말${\sim}$신생대 초 양산단층계의 좌수향 주향이동 단층운동에 수반되어 만들어진 인장 틈을 따라 관입한 것으로 판단된다. A그룹과 B그룹 염기성 암맥군들은 야외 암상과 관입 방향성에서 경주-감포 지역의 암맥군들 중 중성과 염기성 암맥군에 각각 대비된다. 또한 대비되는 두 지역 암맥군들은 전체 희토류 원소 함량과 콘드라이트에 표준화한 거미 성분도 및 미량원소와 희토류 원소 함량 패턴에서 유사한 양상이다. 이는 두 지역의 대비되는 암맥군들이 성인적으로 밀접히 관련되어 있음을 의미한다. K-Ar과 Ar-Ar 연대측정 결과를 종합하면, A그룹 암맥군은 $64{\sim}52\;Ma$ 사이에, B그룹 암맥군은 $51{\sim}44;Ma$에 관입한 것으로 판단된다. 이는 약 51 Ma를 전후로 한반도 남동부의 인장 응력장이 북북동-남남서에서 동서 내지 서북서-남남동으로 급격히 변화되었음을 의미한다. 고제3기 아시아 일원에서 발생한 주요 지구조 사건들을 고려하면, $64{\sim}52;Ma$에는 북상하던 태평양판의 사교 섭입으로 동아시아 대륙연변에 북북서 방향의 광역적인 좌수향 전단 응력장이 작동하였으며, A그룹 암맥군은 이와 수반된 인장 단열들을 따라 관입한 것으로 해석된다. 한편, 약 55 Ma의 인도와 유라시아 대륙의 충돌에 의한 응력은 약 51 Ma 경에는 한반도 일원까지 전파된 것으로 보인다. 이로 인해 한반도를 포함한 동아시아 대륙이 태평양판 쪽으로 밀려감으로써 섭입하던 태평양판의 각도가 급해져 동아시아 연변에 강력한 흡입력이 발생하였으며, 이 때문에 태평양판의 운동 방향이 북북서에서 서북서방향으로 회전되었을 가능성이 있다. 따라서 약 51 Ma부터 한반도 동남부에는 지판 경계의 강력한 흡입력으로 동서 내지 서북서-동남동의 인장력이 작동되어 B그룹 암맥군이 관입한 것으로 해석된다.

위대망동맥의 혈관 수축제 및 이완제에 대한 반응 (Reactivity of Human Isolated Gastroepiploic Artery to Constrictor and Relaxant Agents)

  • 우측 위대망동맥이 관상동맥 우회로 이식술에 사용되는 이식혈관으로서 관심을 끌게 된 것은 1980년대 중반 관동맥 우회로 이식술후 내유동맥의 장기 개통성이 복재정맥에 비하여 우수하다는 것이 알려진 다음부터였다. 처음에는 재수술을 하는 경우 등에서 사용 가능한 다른 이식혈관이 없을 때만 선택되었고 이식장소도 심장 후면에 위치하고 있는 후하행지 등에 제한되었으나, 최근에는 좌전하행지에도 이식되고 있고 위대망동맥의 중단기 개통성이 내유동맥의 것과 비슷한 것으로 보고된바 있으며, 일차 수술에서도 선택되는 경우가 늘어 나서 내유동맥과 복재정맥 다음으로 중요한 이식혈관이 되었다. 아직 장기 개통성이 알려 있지 않은 위대 망동맥에 대하여 이식도관으로서의 기능과 개통성 등을 연구하기 위해서 이 혈관의 수축성 및 이완성이 조사된 바 있으나 결과들이 일치하지 않고 있다. 본 실험에서는 위절제술을 받는 환자들에서 수술 중에 위대망동맥을 채취하여 고리절편으로 만든 후 organ bath내에 장치하여 혈관 수축제 및 이완제에 대한 반응을 측정함으로써 도관으로서의 가치 평가를 함과 동시에 이식된 도관의 경련발생 및 이의 치료를 위한 이완제 투여 등에 관해 연구하였다. 수축제들 중 epinephrine, noprepinephrine 및 KCl은 강한 수축력을 보였고 5-HT의 수축력이 가장 약했으며 전자들의 것과 비교했을 때 유의한 차이를 보였다. Nitroprusside과 histamine은 norepinephrine으로 유도된 수축의 거의 전부를 이완시켰으며 acetylcholine의 이완력은 이들의 것에 비해 유의하게 약했다. 이완제들중 isoproterenol의 이완력이 가장 약했으며 나머지 이완제들의 것과 비교했을 때 유의한 차이를 보였다. 이상에서 위대망동맥의 강한 내피세포 의존성 이완력은 본 혈관이 관상동맥우회로이식술에 도관으로 사용되었 을 때 개통성 유지에 중요한 역할을 할 것이고, 위대망동맥은 catecholamine에 대한 반응이 커서 관상동맥우회 로이식술후 혈중 catecholamine치료가 상승하는 경우에는 이식된 위대망동맥에 경련이 발생할 가능성이 있으며, 이의 치료에는 nitroprusside가 효과적일 것으로 추정된다. 또한 내피세포가 보존된 위대망동맥의 beta-adrenoceptor 촉진제 및 5-HT에 대한 반응은 약할 것으로 생각된다.

청금탕(淸金湯)의 효능(效能)에 관(關)한 실험적(實驗的) 연구(硏究) (Experimental Studies on the Effects of Chunggeumtang)

Contractile force was measured with force diplacement transducers under 0.5g loading tension. The dose of histamine (His) and acetylcholine (Ach) which evoked 50% of maximal response ($ED_{50}$) was obtained from cumulative dose response curves for histamine and acetylcholine($10^{-7}{\sim}10^{-4}M$). Contractions evoked by His ($ED_{50}$) and Ach ($ED_{50}$) were inhibited significantly by Chunggeumtang. In guinea pig tracheal smooth muscle, the mean percent inhibition of acetylcholine induced contraction was $6.1%after\;30{\mu}l/ml$ Chunggeumtang, and 49.4% (p<0.01) after $100{\mu}l/ml$ Chunggeumtang. In rat tracheal smooth muscle, the mean percent inhibition of acetylcholine induced contraction was $6.7%\;after\;30{\mu}l/ml$ Chunggeumtang, and $54.2%\;(p<0.01)\;after\;100{\mu}l/ml$ Chunggeumtang. Also, in guinea pig tracheal smooth muscle, the mean percent inhibition of histamine induced contraction was $30.6%\;(p<0.05)\;after\;30{\mu}l/ml$ Chunggeumtang, and $53.0%\;(p<0.01)\;after\;100{\mu}l/ml$ Chunggeumtang. In rat tracheal smooth muscle, the mean percent inhibition of histamine induced contraction was $24.1%\;(p<0.05)\;after\;30{\mu}l/ml$ Chunggeumtang, and $55.3%\;(p<0.01)\;after\;100{\mu}l/ml$ Chunggeumtang. Propranolol and indomethacin($10^{-7}M$) slightly but significantly attenuated the inhibitory effects of Chunggeumtang. Following treatment with propranolol, the mean percent inhibition caused by $100{\mu}l/ml$ Chunggeumtang fell to 27.6% in guinea pig induced by acetylcholine contraction and by $100{\mu}l/ml$ Chunggeumtang fell to 28.7% (p<0.05) in rat induced by acetylcholine contraction and the mean percent inhibition caused by $100{\mu}l/ml$ Chunggeumtang fell to 16.2% in guinea pig induced by histamine contraction and by $100{\mu}l/ml$ Chunggeumtang fell to 28.7% (p<0.05) in rat induced by histamine contraction. Indomethacin, the mean percent inhibition caused by $100{\mu}l/ml$ Chunggeumtang fell to 20.0% in guinea pig induced by acetylcholine contraction and by $100{\mu}l/ml$ Chunggeumtang fell to 16.9% (p<0.05) in rat induced by acetylcholine contraction and the mean percent inhibition caused by $100{\mu}l/ml$ Chunggeumtang fell to 16.4% in guinea pig induced by histamine contraction and by $100{\mu}l/ml$ Chunggeumtang fell to 23.1% (p<0.05) in rat induced by histamine contraction. Methylene blue($10^{-7}M$) did not significantly alter the inhibitory effect of Chunggeumtang. Also, I could find the effects of Chunggeumtang and Chunggeumtanggamorphine on the tracheal smooth muscle in guinea pig and rat did not change significantly. These results indicate that Chunggeumtang can relax histamine and acetylcholine-induced contraction of guinea pig and rat tracheal smooth muscle, and that this inhibition involves sympathetic effects and the release of cyclooxygenase products.

관상동맥질환 여성의 성기능에 관한 연구 (A Study on Sexual Function of Women with Coronary Artery Disease)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify risk factors related to sexual function of women with coronary artery disease, and to determine the predictors of sexual function. The study design, a descriptive correlational study, was done through structural questionnaire and interview. A total of 50 subjects from C University Hospital at Kwang-ju city who have undergone coronary angiography at department of cardiology were observed and interviewed from Feb. 22, 1999 to March. 23, 1999. The number of affected vessels, the level of total serum cholesterol, and the ejection fraction of 2-D echo cardiography were analyzed to evaluate the severity of coronary artery disease. And also type A behavior pattern, health behavior, Brief Index of Sexual Functioning for Women (BISF-W) were measured. The data obtained were analyzed using percentage, mean and standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression analysis via SPSS PC+. The results of this study were as follows: 1. The mean age of the subjects were 58.1 and 72.0% of those have been married over 30 years. Seventy two percentage were unemployed and monthly family income of 56.6% was less than 1,000,000 won (approximately $ 840). Eighty percent were in their postmenopausal state, and the frequency of sexual intercourse of 84.0% were two to three times per month. 2. The scores of type A behavior pattern were from 16 to 38(mean 24.94) and health behavior ranged from 21 to 43(mean 31.2). Abstinence from smoking, alcohol, and caffeine were best compliant factors and weight control and exercise were least abided ones. The result of 2D-ECHO EF showed that the half of the subjects were abnormal, and 24% had more than 240mg/dl of total serum cholesterol. The coronary angiography showed that 64% of the subjects had more than one affected vessels. 3. The predictors to explain the factor score of 'orgasm' were number of health examination, the pre- or post-menopausal state, protestant, number of coronary vessel affected, level of serum total cholesterol, and comorbid group of hypertension and diabetes, and it's total variance accounted for 52.4%. The predictors to explain the factor score of 'sexual activity' were comorbid group of hypertension and diabetes and type A behavior pattern, which accounted for 22.4% of total variance. The predictors to explain the factor score of 'sexual satisfaction' were type A behavior pattern, no religion, exercise, level of serum total cholesterol, and pre or post menopausal state, which accounted for 52.1%. The predictors to explain the factor score of 'sexual desire' were the period of marriage, type A behavior, employment or unemployment, and weight control, which accounted for 43.2%. The predictors to explain the factor score of 'external force of sexual functioning' were physical overload and exercise, which accounted for 41.1%. The predictors to explain the factor score of 'sexual activity' were family monthly income, catholics, and exercise, and which accounted for 35.4%. Above results lead us to some consensus that sexual function of women with coronary artery disease is related to various factors including vasogenic factors such as total serum cholesterol level, number of coronary vessel affected, an endocrinal factor such as menopausal state, and type A behavior pattern as a sociopshychological factor. And also health behaviors such as fitness care, overwork, weight control, and emotional tension are contributed to sexual function.
