The purpose of the study is to certify the validity and effectiveness of the learning hierarchy and to define the effective teaching order in life continuity. To achieve this purpose, two experimental groups which were instructed varying the sequence of the instructional units. Teaching order based on the learning hierarchy was given to experimental group and descriptive order of current text was given to control group. The findings of the study are as follows: 1. Learning Hierarchy before learning had differ with order of the textbook, but hierarchy of both group has showed similar to the sequence of textbook, after learning. 2. The effect of learning hierarchy represented no significant different between control and experimental group.
In this study, a teaching unit for mathematically gifted students is designed, based on Lakatos's perspective. First, students appreciated the exceptions of Desargue theorem and introduced the point at infinity to remove the exceptions. Finally students were guided to realize that the exceptions and the general case of Desargue theorem have equal status. Exploring Desargue theorem with other viewpoints, gifted students experienced the growth of mathematical knowledge due to exceptions of the theorem.
The purpose of this study is to develop instruction sequence and teaching units for secondary school geometry using dynamic computer software like CabriII, GSP, Wingeom, Poly. For this purpose, literature was reviewed on various issues of geometry education and geometry curriculum using dynamic software. By the literature review, instructional sequence for teaching geometry in middle schools was designed. And, based on the newly developed instructional sequence, one sample teaching unit was developed. The basic principles for the development were to connect intuition geometry and formal geometry, and to emphasize students' investigative experience. Finally, experiment to check out teachers' response to the newly developed material was conducted by using questionnaire.
The importance of pedagogical content knowledge(PCK) has been recognized in learning science teaching. PCK is based partly on the essence of subject matter knowledges. Therefore, the effective teaching of science content knowledges is fundamental in preservice education of student teachers. But, particularly the science curriculum of primary teachers' colleges is composed of less lessons than needed. This research was executed to identify the content and context of earth science which were contained in questions by student teachers These questions which were written by the students about the earth science content in elementary science texts and teachers' guide books were collected and analyzed. Frequency and context concentration of questions about the themes of contents were obtained. In each unit of the text books, scatter diagrams of question frequency and context concentration of themes showed various features. The main results were as follows. first, in case of the units which contents ate composed of themes expected to be experienced in everyday life, the question frequency and context concentration showed positive correlation between them. But, other units, which everyday life experiences are not expected to influence, did not show distinct correlation.
According to the new multi-media appeared as a result of rapid growth of the information and science technique, the school library must be changed to the integration of the teach-study media resource from the existing print media. It means that the school library has to play a role of the study center with a different media from the existing teaching material, teaching instrument, facility and opportunity. The Information education must be conducted in the way of an integrated education course and able to do both information transaction and problem settlement. The education facility to solve this problem is the school library. Therefore, the school library becomes important more and more. It means that the school library is the center of entire study and education material for the teacher and student is focused on it. It is urgent to make the standard of the school library In order to cope with the new education and information environments. And especially it is very important to make a plan about the location and scale of the school library to improve the quality of the children's studying activity. The location of the school library is decided under consideration of the relationship with other room of school house and the proper scale of it is between 2.5units and 7.0units of classroom based on the number of class.

The purpose of this study was development of 'Environmental Science' of high school appropriate to Sixth Natinal Education Curriculum. In view that ultimate aim of environmental education is forming responsible environmental behaviors and the goals of values and behaviors are as important as knowledges and skills, A new environmental text of high school level was developed and it was based on analysis of seven texts and environmental education in Fifth Korean Curriculum. This text have seven units, 1.Habitates : What're the Meanings?, 2.Nuclear Energy: Can't be Avoid?, 3.Acid Rain : What're the Messages", 4.Ethanol : Is this Future Fuel?, 5.Wastes : A New War!, 6.What're the National and Global Environmental Issues? and 7.Our Water: Can Drink, Really? This text was stressed equally in goals of four environmental education and avoided from the array of knowledges. Therefore included various teaching strategies and independent actions of students. 'Open-ended value learning' and 'free behavior learning' in text were special learning parts for aquisition of values and formation of behaviors. To verify the effects of new developed environmental text, the direct learning was carried out by 286 students in total. Post test scores of experimental groups per each units were significantly higher than those of control groups about four goals, respectively. The Results of questionnaires by 50 teachers from five different schools were as follows. For validity of selecting contents for units, 74% of respondents replied positively. For classification and presentation of four goal-groups, 90% replied positively in validity and 82%, in utility. For validity of various teaching strategies, 88% and for the degree of including student-centered independent actions, 86% replied positively. For importances and expected effects of 'open-ended value learning' and 'free behavior learning', showed positive responses respectively, 88%, 92%. Therefore this text is effective to acheive four goals of environmental education equally.
In this paper, we analyze the influence of mathematics teaching-learning for high level math problems of A-type of mathematics section on the College Scholastic Ability Test(CSAT). To analyze the influence, we compare and analyze units and field of questions set at examinations based on the rate of wrong answers in A-type mathematics test of the CSAT from 2012 to 2016. Also, we study the recognition of academic high school students and teachers about units and fields on math which need to allow more time to improve grade for A-type of mathematics section on the CSAT. We found following facts. First, high level math problems determining rank of high rank students on the CSAT was taken mostly from the unit related a exponential function and a logarithmic function. Second, these problems need more time for a calculation rather than an ability for students to deepen their understanding of the concept and quality of education. Third, high rank students spend a lot of time to study more important units and fields of mathematics on the CSAT such as a exponential function and a logarithmic function, and teachers spend a lot of time to teach them.
The purposes of this study are to study out competencies of teacher for organizing and operating of NCS based curriculum in vocational high schools, and to analyze the relative importance of the competencies. The results of the study are as follows. Firstly, the competencies of teacher for organizing and operating of NCS based curriculum are composed of the following 4 areas, 11 competencies and 35 sub-competencies. 'Needs and learning environment analysis(area 1)' is composed of 2 competencies of 'analyzing needs', 'analyzing learning environment', and their 7 sub-competencies. 'Curriculum organization(area 2)' is composed of 4 competencies of 'organizing and operating curriculum committee', 'setting educational goals and workforce type', 'analyzing and selecting NCS competency units learning modules', 'developing subjects', and their 10 sub-competencies. 'Curriculum operation(area 3)' is composed of 3 competencies of 'preparing teaching-learning activities', 'implementing teaching-learning activities', 'evaluating teaching-learning activities', and their 15 sub-competencies. 'Curriculum evaluation and feedback(area 4)' is composed of 2 competencies of 'evaluating curriculum', 'giving feedback on the curriculum', and their 3 sub-competencies. Secondly, the relative importance of the competencies is as follows; 'implementing teaching-learning activities' has the highest relative importance of 19.6%, followed by 'evaluating teaching-learning activities'(14.2%), 'evaluating curriculum'(12.5%), 'giving feedback on the curriculum'(11.2%), 'preparing teaching-learning activities'(9.2%), 'developing subjects'(8.6%), 'analyzing and selecting NCS competency units learning modules'(7.5%), 'setting educational goals and workforce type'(6.6%), 'analyzing learning environment'(5.4%), 'analyzing needs'(3.9%), 'organizing and operating curriculum committee'(1.5%).

This study is aiming to determine the effect of learning dimensions oriented elementary science lecture on scientific attitude, academic achievement, and logical thinking based on 'Earth' section in the 2nd semester of the 5th grade. Analyzing sub-categories of dimension in each lecture before teaching, a teaching and a learning plans based on dimension 3 and 4 were devised and applied. The result of this study is as follows: Firstly, when sub-categories of Earth section in the 2nd semester of the 5th grade in elementary schools were examined, the unit '5-2-4. Volcanoes and Rocks' was missing 8 of total 28 sub-units, while '5-2-7. Solar families' unit was covering all sub-units of every learning dimension. Secondly, learning dimensions 3 and 4 centered elementary school teaching caused significant difference in scientific attitude. Especially, among other sub-categories of scientific attitudes, 'Social meaning of Science', 'Attitude toward Science lessons' were better improved. Thirdly, learning dimensions 3 and 4 based elementary school lectures didn't bring significant difference to academic achievement. Fourthly, learning dimensions 3 and 4 oriented elementary lessons didn't imply significant difference in sub-logics of logical thinking, however proved to be helpful for students of transitional age.
This study aims to analyze and compare Korean mathematics textbooks on time and to induce its educational implications. Concretely, the mathematics textbooks from the 1st to the 2009 national revised curriculum were selected for the longitudinal analysis. In each textbook, the contents such as clock reading, units of time, and calculation of elapsed time among various contents about time were chosen. The learning elements and their teaching sequence, the teaching method (the introducing ways of each concept and principle), and the didactical representations are set as an analysis framework. The results of analysis revealed many characteristics and differences in ways of dealing contents about time. Based on these results, we suggested several implications for writing the unit of time in elementary mathematics textbooks and teaching about time in classrooms.
