  • The study uses a qualitative research method for an in-depth study on child care practice for preliminary child care teachers. The study shows firstly that prior to practice, a preliminary child care teacher expects to perform a dual role. The preliminary child care teacher conceives an unequal, vertical relationship with a practice guidance teacher and serves as someone between a teacher and a friend to children, while perceiving the facility head as a mediator and practice colleagues as companions. Secondly, the preliminary child care teacher performed a triple role, while the practice guidance teacher played the role of a preliminary child care teacher. A preliminary child care teacher has mutually supportive interaction with a practice guidance teacher and serves as someone between a teacher and a friend, while acting as an important supporter to the facility head and as an uncomfortable competitor to a practice colleague. Thirdly, when a practice is completed, a preliminary child care teacher feels satisfied and sorry, while emphasizing a balance between theory and practice in a curriculum. The purpose of the current study lies in figuring out the needs for child care practice for a preliminary child care teacher who is the subject in child care practice to suggest improvements for a qualitative enhancement of child care practice.

Third, because 49.2% of the respondents chose 'important' on the question of 'how important the field education and the experience education are', it looked like most of them agreed with the importance of the field education and the experience education. Fourth, because 61.1% of the responded teachers chose 'need' on the question of 'if it needs relationship with other studies', it looked like most of them agreed with the necessity of relationship with other studies. Fifth, 62.5% of the respondents chose 'no' on the question of 'if they conduct the education for sustainable development Even if some wanted the education for sustainable development, most of them would not do it in the regular curriculum, but in the special activity class or teacher's discretional time. Sixth, most respondents indicated the teacher's class burden and the teacher's lack of knowledge as the problem if the education for sustainable development would be conducted. This result implied that in order to vitalize the education for sustainable development, the teacher's class burden should be reduced and the teacher train program is necessary. Finally, urgent requested studies could improve the education for sustainable development in communities and schools, because the result of the survey showed education, natural observation learning, and visiting ecological parks as important elements.

  • The purpose of this research is to analyze characteristics of the method of education or learning reflected in the teacher-student relationship in On Haeng Lok By Toe-gye and explore their relevance to modern education. By writing various works and conversing with his students, Toe-gye devoted himself in the education of the traditional Confucian principles. Specially, he taught his students based on two Confucian educative principles, namely Shim Deuk(心得) and Goong Haeng(躬行). Judging from this, Toe-gye can be seen as someone who tries to fulfill the role of teacher as dictated in the educative principles of the Confucianism. In Confucianism, teacher is responsible for forming a well-rounded view on life in student, rather than simply transmitting knowledge. As such, the teacher was supposed to find a harmonious way to create something new based on what was inherited from the past generation and try to do his best in learning new things himself and teaching his students. These Toe-gye managed to do successfully, earning his students' trust and respect. Being moved and inspired by their teacher, the students continued their intellectual pursuit. This relationship between Toe-gye and his students can be analyzed from the perspective of education method and discussed in terms of cognitive learning and adult learning. In terms of cognitive learning, the education method reflected in the relationship is similar to potential learning, insight learning, and imitation learning. In terms of adult learning, it is similar to self-directed learning and communicative learning.!
