  • As integrated management of scattered knowledge in the organization contributes to organizational performance, organizations are increasing their investment in knowledge management(KM) policies and technologies. For KM to be operated efficiently, the participation of employees performing knowledge-sharing activities is important. This study suggests how shared goal, value congruence, and task interdependence reduce the negative effects of relation and role conflict on the intention to share knowledge. We surveyed workers in organizations that have more than 50 employees and have KM policies, and 381 samples were used for hypothesis testing. As a result of hypothesis testing, we confirmed that a shared goal affects the intention to share knowledge through each of the factors of value congruence, relation conflict, and role conflict. In addition, we confirmed that value congruence and task interdependence moderated conflicts that negatively affected the intention to share knowledge. We identified the conditions that affect the knowledge-sharing activities of employees in terms of individual, organizational, and work structure. Therefore, the results contribute to the establishment of strategies for achieving the performance of the organization's KM.

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient single-resource task scheduling algorithm for the Communication, Ocean, and Meteorological Satellite. Among general satellite planning functions such as constraint check, priority check, and task scheduling, this paper focuses on the task scheduling algorithm, which resolves conflict among tasks which have an exclusion relation and the same priority. The goal of the proposed task scheduling algorithm is to maximize the number of tasks that can be scheduled. The rationale of the algorithm is that a discarded task can be scheduled instead of a previously selected one depending on the expected benefit acquired by doing so. The evaluation results show that the proposed algorithm enhances the number of tasks that can be scheduled considerably.

  • When an organization adopts new technology, performance through the technology is expected to be decided depending on attitudes of the members, in that technology produces performance only if the members zealously use it. Therefore, the members need to devote themselves to acquire and use the new technology. This attitude of members is called "IT acceptance will" (Ranarajan et al., 2005), and this research is to examine the effect of an individual's "IT acceptance will" on performance. Thus, this research analyzes what increases IT acceptance will and what effect IT acceptance will has on stress due to uncertainty of an organization-job complexity and role conflict- through new IT adoption. This research conducted a survey from July to September in 2009, targeting employees of government offices and public institutions in Kyunggi and Kyungnam provinces. Then, a total of 370 was collected and the final 344 was selected for our research analysis. As a result, this research found out that personal innovation and client orientation improved an individual's IT acceptance will, which improved performance through new IT adoption. However, the new IT adoption also increased job complexity and role conflict, but negative effects of stress on performance was not found as IT adoption will diminished the stress. Based on this result, this research discussed practical and academic implications and the limitations.

  • As information is recognized as an important asset of an organization, organizations are increasing their resource input for knowledge management. In particular, the enterprise content management system(ECMS) is a solution for organization-oriented content management, and it has high utility by helping to achieve business performance through systematic utilization of content and improve the level of internal information security. The purpose of this study is to suggest a plan to improve the intention to use organizational employee's ECMS and to suggest the effect of the relationships between information system quality characteristics and work environment characteristics on intention to use. In this study, a research hypothesis was presented based on previous studies, a questionnaire was conducted on workers of organizations that adopted an ECMS, and the hypothesis was verified by applying structural equation modeling. As a result of the analysis, information and service quality of the ECMS and task interdependence increased the intention to use, but task conflict decreased the intention to use. In addition, task interdependence and task conflict moderated the positive relationship between the quality factors of the ECMS and the intention to use it. This study has implications in terms of suggesting the direction of the organization's behavior through factors that increase the use of ECMS.

  • In spite of the importance of cognitive conflict in conceptual change, there has been little research on the characteristics of cognitive conflict in students enrolled at vocational high schools. The purpose of this study was to expose these students' cognitive conflict types and investigate characteristics of cognitive conflict according to the type of cognitive conflict. This paper examined how vocational students' motivational beliefs and epistemological beliefs affect the process of cognitive conflict when students are confronted with an anomalous situation related to the action and reaction concept. Results indicated that many vocational students experienced low levels of cognitive conflict and remained passive during the explanation of anomalous phenomenon or easily desisted any attempt to resolve the conflict situation because of their epistemological belief to depend on the external absolute knowledge of teachers, an extrinsic motivation to choose easier tasks, or reliance on the teachers' reputations. Therefore, Instructors need to recognize these characteristics in order to facilitate vocational students' conceptual change when presenting cognitive conflict tasks.

  • The aim of this study is to examine the effects of the story sharing activity on-conflicting situations by the use of children's story on the theory of mind and peer competences of preschoolers so that appropriate teaching materials can be allocated for the actual preschool education site. The subjects of this study were 46 preschoolers under the age 4 at the attached kindergarten of P University in Pohang City, Gyeongbuk and in which 23 children among them were assigned to a test group and the other 23 to a control group. The collected data was analyzed by SPSS ver. 15.0 program and Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ coefficient was yielded to verify the reliability for each scale. The multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA) was conducted. The analysis results are as follows. First, the story sharing activity on conflict situations by using children's story had a significant effect on the preschoolers' general appearance and actual task as sub-factors of the theory of mind, whereas no significant effects were found regarding the content change task and position change task. Second, the story sharing activity on conflict situations by using children's story had significant effect on the preschoolers' overall sensitivity, insecurity and pro-sociability as sub-factors of the peer competences, whereas no significant effects were found regarding the aggression, exclusivity and anti-sociability.

  • We consider the problem of assigning tasks to homogeneous nodes in the distributed system, so as to minimize the amount of communication, while balancing the processors' loads. This issue can be posed as the graph partitioning problem. Given an undirected graph G=(nodes, edges), where nodes represent task modules and edges represent communication, the goal is to divide n, the number of processors, as to balance the processors' loads, while minimizing the capacity of edges cut. Since these two optimization criteria conflict each other, one has to make a compromise between them according to the given task type. We propose a new cost function to evaluate static task assignments and a heuristic algorithm to solve the transformed problem, explicitly describing the tradeoff between the two goals. Simulation results show that our approach outperforms an existing representative approach for a variety of task and processing systems.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate work/family conflicts and its relationships with antecedent and outcome variables. 421 employed homemakers living in Seoul. Kyunggi-do , Chungju, and Daegu provided data using questionnaires. The results of path analysis showed that the level of work/family conflict was weakly correlated with demographic and managerial antecedents( age of respondent and standards for household task performance) but strongly correlated with work wetting characteristics, physical/psychological symptoms, and life satisfaction. A research model received considerable empirical support. this presumed that work/family conflict leads to negative outcomes, and was caused by the stress resulting form work setting and non-work conditions.

  • This paper describes the Autonomous Vehicles (AV) which are operated for their own tasks. There are chances of conflict resolution such as sharing the same path which can lead to the risk of a collision. This research represents some ways of negotiating the conflict resolution by generating cooperative actions. Negotiation while traveling the path is accomplished by using priority and by announcing the start time of the task. When there is a risk of collision, the AV tries to dissolve the situation of conflict resolution by concurrently adjusting mutual speed and by performing the algorithm of passing. If the speed of the AV cannot be adjusted, it measures the distance between the counterpart of the AV and an obstacle along the path. Then it judges either to proceed by passing the counterpart of the AV or to turn back after observing the current circumstances. The performance of the algorithm described above was proven by a simulator.
