  • In [2], [8], the author studied the characteristic connection as a good substitute for the Levi-Civita connection. In this paper, we consider the space $U(3)=(U(1){\times}U(1){\times}U(1))$ with an almost Hermitian structure which admits a characteristic connection and compute the characteristic connection concretely.

  • The main purpose of the present paper is to generalize the results obtained by A. Hindmarsh in [7] to the holomorphic functions with non-negative real part defined on a complete circular domain D in certain class D in the complex euclidean space $C^{n}$. As described in .cint.2, D includes the bounded symmetric domains.s.

  • When analyzing field or optimizing the shape of electrode in three dimensional space by using the surface charge method, we need to divide finely the surface of electrode into surface element like triangle or rectangle. In this case, there exist any variables in field analysis or field optimization. In particular, smoothness on the surface of optimized shape is not good. Recently, A paper is published where introducing NURB curve to field analysis and field optimization about two dimensional space model and axial symmetric three dimensional space model results in reduced variables, enhenced accuracy and improved smoothness. NURB curve has some useful properties like continuity, controllability and locality. Therefore in this paper, in order to improve the demerits of the established optimization method for three dimensional space models, the NURB surface that has same properties in common with NURB curve is used to analyze and optimize simple model.

  • In this paper we obtain the condition for the existence of Ricci solitons in nonflat quaternion space form by using Eisenhart problem. Also it is proved that if (g, V, ${\lambda}$) is Ricci soliton then V is solenoidal if and only if it is shrinking, steady and expanding depending upon the sign of scalar curvature. Further it is shown that Ricci soliton in semi-symmetric quaternion space form depends on quaternion sectional curvature c if V is solenoidal.

  • Our aim is to study the properties of Fischer-Marsden conjecture and Ricci-Bourguignon solitons within the framework of generalized Sasakian-space-forms with 𝛽-Kenmotsu structure. It is proven that a (2n + 1)-dimensional generalized Sasakian-space-form with 𝛽-Kenmotsu structure satisfying the Fischer-Marsden equation is a conformal gradient soliton. Also, it is shown that a generalized Sasakian-space-form with 𝛽-Kenmotsu structure admitting a gradient Ricci-Bourguignon soliton is either ψ∖Tk × M2n+1-k or gradient 𝜂-Yamabe soliton.

  • In this study, the transition Reynolds number of compressible axi-symmetric sharp cone boundary layer is predicted by using a linear stability theory and the -method. The compressible linear stability equation for sharp cone boundary layer was derived from the governing equations on the body-intrinsic axi-symmetric coordinate system. The numerical analysis code for the stability equation was developed based on a second-order accurate finite-difference method. Stability characteristics and amplification rate of two-dimensional second mode disturbance for the sharp cone boundary layer were calculated from the analysis code and the numerical code was validated by comparing the results with experimental data. Transition prediction was performed by application of the -method with N=10. From comparison with wind tunnel experiments and flight tests data, capability of the transition prediction of this study is confirmed for the sharp cone boundary layers which have an edge Mach number between 4 and 8. In addition, effect of wall cooling on the stability of disturbance in the boundary layer and transition position is investigated.

  • Evolution of tip vortex generated by a model rotor blade which has a symmetric blade section has been investigated by use of the laser doppler anemometry. Swirl and axial velocity components of tip vortex were measured by the phase averaging technique within one revolution of a rotor blade. It was found that tip vortex becomes matured until 27 degrees and diffuses afterwards with diffusing rate becoming slower compared to the case of the asymmetric blade section, but the tip loss was expected to become more substantial. Swirl velocity components were well fit to n=2 model of Vatistas within measured wake ages, showing the self-similarity exists for the swirl velocity components. The axial components were followed with Gaussian profiles, but had much higher peak values than those of the symmetric blade section.
