  • The minimum rank mr(G) of a simple graph G is defined to be the smallest possible rank over all symmetric real matrices whose (i, j)-th entry (for $i{\neq}j$) is nonzero whenever {i, j} is an edge in G and is zero otherwise. The corona $C_n{\circ}K_t$ is obtained by joining all the vertices of the complete graph $K_t$ to each n vertex of the cycle $C_n$. For any t, we obtain an upper bound of zero forcing number of $L(C_n{\circ}K_t)$, the line graph of $C_n{\circ}K_t$, and get some bounds of $mr(L(C_n{\circ}K_t))$. Specially for t = 1, 2, we have calculated $mr(L(C_n{\circ}K_t))$ by the cut-vertex reduction method.

  • The SLF(Short Line Fault) breaking capability test for high voltage class $SF_6$ GCB(Gas Circuit Breaker) was conducted. Simplified LC resonant circuit test facility was used for SLF breaking test. During test, Test current was measured by Rogwski coil and arc voltage was measured by voltage divider. Arc conductance was calculated by using these test results before 200ns at current zero. Critical arc conductance value at rated voltage 145kV class is about 2.3mS regardless of breaking current magnitude and arc conductance value at rated voltage 170kV class is about 2.6mS.

  • The derivative of a polynomial p(z) of degree n, with respect to point α is defined by Dαp(z) = np(z) + (α - z)p'(z). Let p(z) be a polynomial having all its zeros in the unit disk |z| ≤ 1. The Sendov conjecture asserts that if all the zeros of a polynomial p(z) lie in the closed unit disk, then there must be a zero of p'(z) within unit distance of each zero. In this paper, we obtain certain results concerning the location of the zeros of Dαp(z) with respect to a specific zero of p(z) and a stronger result than Sendov conjecture is obtained. Further, a result is obtained for zeros of higher derivatives of polynomials having multiple roots.

  • In this paper, the performance of precoding-aided differential spatial modulation (PDSM) systems with optimal transmit antenna subset (TAS) selection is examined analytically. The average bit error rate (ABER) performance of the optimal TAS selection-based PDSM systems using a zero-forcing (ZF) precoder is evaluated using theoretical upper bound and Monte Carlo simulations. Simulation results validate the analysis and demonstrate a performance penalty < 2.6 dB compared with precoding-aided spatial modulation (PSM) with optimal TAS selection. The performance analysis reveals a transmit diversity gain of (NT-NR+1) for the ZF-based PDSM (ZF-PDSM) systems that employ TAS selection with NT transmit antennas, NS selected transmit antennas, and NR receive antennas. It is also shown that reducing the number of activated transmit antennas via optimal TAS selection in the ZF-PDSM systems degrades ABER performance. In addition, the impacts of channel estimation errors on the performance of the ZF-PDSM system with TAS selection are evaluated, and the performance of this system is compared with that of ZF-based PSM with TAS selection.

  • This study examined the market efficiency of korea stock market by comparing variance ratios(VR) of stock groups which is sorted by market capitalization. We compute variance ratios of KOSPI large capitalization, midium capitalization, and small capitalization for 546 trading days from 2006/01/02 to 2008/04/15. For our study, we also use high frequency data that is; intra-day 1 minute data. The characteristics of variance ratios of stock groups by market capitalization as follows: From 1 to 5 minute interval, variance ratios of three stock group increase far from zero(0). The longer time interval, the more variance ratios decrease, but only large capitalization converge on around zero. This means that the market of large capitalization is more efficient compare to other stock groups. The entire sample period can be divided two sub-period because the impact of sub prime crisis arised from U.S.A. influences Korea stock market. Before sub prime crisis, the VRs of mid cap and small cap do not converge on around zero except large cap although the time interval is longer. After sub prime crisis, the VRs of three stock groups decrease when time interval is longer, but only large cap converge on around zero. We conclude that large cap is more efficient than other stock groups in Korea Stock Market.

  • In this paper, we consider the problem of determining the confidence level in zero-failure reliability sampling plans when the life distribution is Weibull distribution with a shape parameter m and a scale parameter ${\eta}$. We introduce zero-failure reliability sampling plans for Weibull distribution and investigate some characteristics of zero-failure reliability sampling plans. Finally, We propose new guideline for determining the confidence level in zero-failure reliability sampling plans for assuring $B_x-life$.

  • Super duplex stainless steels (sDSS) are excellent for use under severely corrosive conditions such as offshore and marine applications like pipelines and flanges. sDSS has better mechanical properties and corrosion resistance than the standard duplex stainless steel (DSS) but it is easier for a sigma phase to appear, which depresses the mechanical property and corrosion resistance, compared to DSS, because sDSS has a higher alloy element than DSS. In addition, sDSS has a feeble ductile-brittle transition temperature (DBTT) because it has a 50% ferrite microstructure. In the actual operating environment, sDSS would be thermally affected by welding and a sub-zero temperature environment. This study analyzed how precipitated sDSS behaves at a sub-zero temperature through annealing heat treatment and a sub-zero tensile test. Six types of specimens with annealing times of up to 60 min were tested in a sub-zero chamber. According to the experimental results, an increase in the annealing time reduced the elongation of sDSS, and a decrease in the tensile test temperature raises the flow stress and tensile stress. In particular, the elongation of specimens annealed for 15 min and 30 min was clearly lowered with a decrease in the tensile test temperature because of the increasing sigma phase fraction ratio.

  • Martensitic stainless steel is commonly used in the medical implant instrument. The alloy has drawbacks in terms of strength and wear properties when applied to instruments with sharp parts. 440C STS alloy, with improved durability, is an alternative to replace 420 J2 STS. In the present study, the carbide precipitation, and mechanical and corrosion properties of STS 440C alloy are studied as a function of different heat treatments. The STS 440C alloy is first austenitized at different temperatures; this is immediately followed by oil quenching and sub-zero treatment. After sub-zero treatment, the alloy is tempered at low temperatures. The microstructures of the heat treated STS 440C alloy consist of martensite and retained austenite and carbides. Using EDX and SADP with a TEM, the precipitated carbides are identified as a Cr23C6 carbide with a size of 1 to 2 ㎛. The hardness of STS 440C alloy is improved by austenitization at 1,100 ℃ with sub-zero treatment and tempering at 200 ℃. The values of Ecorr and Icorr for STS 440C increase with austenitization temperature. Results can be explained by the dissolution of Cr-carbide and the increase in the retained austenite. Sub-zero treatment followed by tempering shows a little difference in the properties of potentiodynamic polarizations.

  • Using STD11 and STS3 as a mold set, accuracy of a mold product could be improved by heat treatment. Results of Charpy impact test and measurement of retained austenite in STS3 and STD11, STD11 was superior than STS3 in effect of sub-zero treatment and stability of working and measure. Decrease of retain austenite by sub-zero treatment in STS3 did not occured.
