Purpose: Factors related to the major satisfaction of nursing students were systematically searched and quantitatively synthesized. Methods: Meta-analysis was conducted upon 47 articles in Korean master and doctorate degree dissertations and academic journals. Meta-analysis of major satisfaction-related variables was conducted using Comprehensive Meta-Analysis (CMA) 2.0 program. The effect size of the related variables was analyzed by converting the statistic r value to Fisher's Z. Results: The overall average effect size of major satisfaction was the largest effect size (ES=.49), followed by cognitive factors (ES=.58), affective factors (ES=.45), and psychomotor factors (ES=.31). The cognitive factors were in the order nursing professionalism(ES=.70), nurse's image (ES=.65), and critical thinking disposition (ES=.36). The affective factors were self-esteem (ES=.59), emotional intelligence (ES=.55), career identity (ES=.49), self-efficacy (ES=.48), college adjustment (ES=.45), practice satisfaction (ES=.45), resilience (ES=.42), (ES=.40), grit (ES=.34), and stress (ES=.26). The psychomotor factors were clinical performance ability (ES=.38) and career search behavior (ES=.31). Conclusion: The results of this study are valuable when giving consideration to the variables related to nursing students' major satisfaction, for developing a strategic model to enhance the satisfaction of nursing students.
This study aimed to identify the impact of major variables such as self-esteem, empathy, and depression on major satisfaction among nursing students, construct a hypothesis model, and identify direct and indirect effects through path analysis. Data were collected from 200 nursing students between 2 March and 30 March, 2023 from two universities in C-Do, data were analyzed with SPSS 26.0 and AMOS 23.0. In the final model, self-esteem (𝛽=.29, p=.001), empathy (𝛽=.49, p=.001), and depression (𝛽=-.21, p=.032) had a direct effect on major satisfaction. Additionally, self-esteem (𝛽=.12, p=.031) had an indirect effect on major satisfaction through depression. The explanatory power of empathy, self-esteem, and depression for major satisfaction was confirmed to be 36%. Increasing self-esteem and empathy will not only directly increase major satisfaction, but indirectly lowering depression and increasing self-esteem will also increase major satisfaction. Therefore, when developing a nursing education program that increases nursing students satisfaction with their major, it is necessary to develop cognitive behavioral strategies that can increase self-esteem and empathy and reduce depression.

A questionnaire was distributed to 260 students enrolled in the bakery and confectionery institute at Gyeongju in the Pohang and Ulsan area, and 242 were used in the final analysis. Collected data were statistically analyzed using SPSS 12.0 Windows. Results of this study can be summarized as follows. The students were mostly satisfied with the learning environment and teaching methods of the institute. A significant difference was observed between male and female students for recognizing teaching methods and major recognition. Furthermore, the educational environment and major recognition of students were positively related with learning satisfaction. Therefore, the staff at the bakery and confectionary institute should provide the proper curriculum and facilities for the students.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the degree of optimism, academic resilience, and major satisfaction of nursing students, and identify influencing factors of major satisfaction. The study was a cross-sectional descriptive correlational design. A convenience sample of 286 nursing students was conducted from a university in Busan. Data were analyzed through descriptive statistics, t-test, one way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and hierachical multiple regression analysis using IBM SPSS version 23.0. The average score of optimism, academic resilience and major satisfaction in nursing students were 3.85±0.54, 3.87±0.52 and 3.75±0.63 respectively. The degree of major satisfaction was positively correlated with optimism and academic resilience. The significant predictors of major satisfaction were optimism(β=.385, p<.001) and academic resilience(β=.356, p<.001), explaining 49.2% of the independent variables. Accordingly, in order to increase the major satisfaction level of nursing college students, it is necessary to develop a program that can improve optimism and academic resilience, and apply it in the nursing curriculum.

As for the analysis methods, the study used the frequency analysis, percentage, mean, t-test, analysis of variance, multiple regression analysis. Results: The results of multiple regression analysis between the satisfaction level and the related factors indicated that the satisfaction of major and place of clinical training in the clinical training are the major component in the male students and the satisfaction of major and a school record and clinical training experience are the major component that contribute the satisfaction level in the female students. The questionnaire consisted of 44 questions including extroversion factors(18 questions) and neurotic tendency(26 questions). The questionnaire was score by Likert 5 scale. Cronbach alpha was 0.835 in the study. The neurotic tendency consisted of 26 questions and the higher score showed the higher neurotic tendency. Cronbach alpha was 0.927 in the study. The instrument for satisfaction of education was adapted from Kim and Go and partly modified. The instrument was categorized into dental hygiene department satisfaction(6 questions), major satisfaction(6 questions), facilities satisfaction(4 questions), lecture satisfaction(7 questions), and faculty satisfaction(4 questions). The instrument was scored by Likert 5 scale. Cronbach alpha of education satisfaction was 0.928 in the study. This study aimed to investigate major satisfaction and career maturity according to the values of college students majoring in food management and culinary arts. To do this, frequency analysis, factor analysis, correlation analysis, and multiple regression were conducted and analyzed using SPSS18.0 program. Analysis results indicate that the values of the college students majoring in dining and culinary education have effects on major satisfaction and career maturity. In particular, pragmatic value is a very important factor in increasing major satisfaction and career maturity, and social recognition and curriculum factors are very significant for students to make career decisions. Therefore, in order to enhance college students' major satisfaction and career maturity, it's necessary to teach sound values so that they can build self-esteem value. Also, it's essential to organize subject contents and curriculums in which theory and practice are allocated properly so that students can be interested in their majors and have new experience as well as the community's right recognition for college students majoring in dinning and culinary education and their active interest as the study suggests.
