We implemented a system being able to suggest example sentences for multiple choice tests, considering the level of students. To build the system, we designed an automatic method for sentence generation, which made it possible to control the difficulty degree of questions. For the proper evaluation in the multiple choice tests, proper size of question pools is required. To satisfy this requirement, a system which can generate various and numerous questions and their example sentences in a fast way should be used. In this paper, we designed an automatic generation method using a linguistic resource called WordNet. For the automatic generation, firstly, we extracted keywords from the existing sentences with the morphological analysis and candidate terms with similar meaning to the keywords in Korean WordNet space are suggested. When suggesting candidate terms, we transformed the existing Korean WordNet scheme into a new scheme to construct the concept similarity matrix. The similarity degree between concepts can be ranged from 0, representing synonyms relationships, to 9, representing non-connected relationships. By using the degree, we can control the difficulty degree of newly generated questions. We used two methods for evaluating semantic similarity between two concepts. The first one is considering only the distance between two concepts and the second one additionally considers positions of two concepts in the Korean Wordnet space. With these methods, we can build a system which can help the instructors generate new questions and their example sentences with various contents and difficulty degree from existing sentences more easily.

Group-based learning is known to be an effective means to improve scholastic achievement in online learning. Therefore, there are some previous researches for the group-based learning. A lot of previous researches define factors for grouping from the characteristics of classes, teacher's decision and students' preferences and then generate a group based on the defined factors. However, many algorithms proposed by previous researches depend on a specific class and is not a general approach since there exist several differences in terms of the need of courses, learners, and teachers. Moreover it is hard to find a automatic system for group generation. This paper proposes a grouping system which automatically generate a learner group according to characteristics of various classes. the proposed system automatically generates a learner group by using basic information for a class or additional factors inputted from a user. The proposed system defines a set of rules for learner grouping which enables automatic selection of a learner grouping algorithm tailored to the characteristics of a given class. This rule based approach allows the proposed system to accommodate various learner grouping algorithms for a later use. Also we show the usability of our system by serviceability evaluation.
The main purpose of this study was to develope a reflective journal and examine its effects on student's academic achievement and self-regulated learning strategies. For this study, 'a structured reflective journal' was designed through the steps of systems approach with the purpose of enhancing student's academic achievement and self-regulated learning strategies, especially meta-cognition and critical thinking. The reflective journal used in this study contained the constructive elements of (1) self-evaluation with 5 likert scale, (2) learning essay, (3) dialogue with peers, and (4) dialogue with professor. A total of 94 freshmen enrolled in one of two sections of the engineering courses(theory-based class and experiment and practice-based class) participated in the study for 8 weeks. A pre-test-post-test design was used to examine the effects of the application of reflective journal on student's achievement and self-regulated learning strategies. For the result, analysis of covariance was conducted to determine whether there were any academic achievement differences and self-regulated learning strategy differences. The results suggested that students were taking advantages of the reflective journal, and there were statistically significant differences in academic achievement in the experiment and practice-based class and self-regulated learning strategies in both classes.

The objective of the present prospective trial was to compare the efficacy of chlorhexidine(Cervitec), Fluoride (Fluorprotector) and combination of chlorhexdine and fluoride varnishes in decreasing the level of salivary mutans streptococci. Forty healthy students of school of dentistry, Chonbuk national university were investigated to evaluate mutans streptococci(MS) counts and randomized into four groups to treat with the experimental varnishes; A) untreated group(n=10), B) chlorhexidine group(n=10), C) fluoride group(n=10), D) chlorhexidine and fluoride group(n=10). Dentocult $SM^{(R)}$ (Orion Diagnostica) strip method was used for measurement of the level of mutans streptococci in saliva. Stimulated saliva were collected at baseline for mutans streptococci counts evaluation (ms1), 12 weeks later the completion of each varnish treatment, mutans streptococci counts were re-evaluated. In varnish group with chlorhexidine, fluoride and combination of chlorhexidine and fluoride, the level of mutans streptococci was lower after 12 weeks than at baseline, but there were no significant differences in saliva(p>0.05), when compared with baseline. After 12 weeks, a remarkable reduction was still found in the subjects with high level of mutans streptococci at baseline, but not different in the low and moderate level of mutans streptococci(p>0.05).

This study investigated several cases of interactive learning mediated by exhibits in a natural history hall during visits by middle school students. Five visiting cases were selected, in which visitors engaged actively in the interactions between them. Each visiting case was analyzed in terms of visiting discourse register and the modes of interaction in order to understand both visitors' meaning-making processes through the discourse flow and the characteristics of visiting discourse according to the features of exhibits. Results were as follows. The information provided in the exhibits was used as THEMEs in visitors' discourse and the visitors presented their information on the THEMEs as RHEMEs. The visitors made their own meaning for the exhibits by exchanging their information with each other. Interrogative sentences on the exhibit panels allowed visitors to make arguments. Similar exhibits displayed together helped visitors to compare those exhibits. These two features of the exhibits facilitated visitors' meaning-making processes in the natural history hall. The modes of interaction between visitors mediated by the exhibits showed that the information itself from the exhibits as well as visitors' opinion on the exhibits were frequently used as the elements for in-depth cognitive social interactions that allowed the visitors to construct meaning. Based on these results, we discussed that understanding in detail how visitors choose information from exhibits and construct visiting discourse is very important to improve visitors' collaborative science learning at a natural history hall.
The major goals of this study are to find the factors that enhance self-directed math learning in college math classes and to provide the students with the opportunities to check and develop their self-directed math learning attitude. For these research goals, we prepared the questionnaires that asked about their learning motivations, basic learning ability, self-discipline strategies, and self-directed learning strategies. Another purpose of the questionnaires was to give them the chances to check and improve their attitude toward those learning strategies, motivation and ability. From the research results, we find that the important factors for self-directed learning are internal & external motivations, concentration ability, and the goal-setting and plan-making abilities. In addition, concentration ability, good habit, stress-control, recognition of math value, and self-directing ability are found to be necessary for the desirable learning environment. On the other hand, we find that the ability to perform note-taking, class preparation and review, time-control, and test-control is required for the selection and practice of self-fitting learning strategies. Finally, we provided our own self-directed math learning model. Our model, containing the necessary factors for self-directed math learning, is the revised and modified one of Knowles(1975)'s 5 stage self-directed learning model that comprises diagnosis of learning desire, setting learning goals, grasping human&material resources, selection and practice of proper learning strategies, and evaluation of learning results.

The purpose of this study is to develop the clothing safety teaching/learning plan in Home Economics based on the health belief model and to examine the effects of the course using the developed teaching/learning plan on the health belief. Based on ADDIE model, 6 clothing safety teaching/learning plans were developed by applying the health belief model. They consisted of three learning factors of 'harmful substances that can be exposed during the production, wear, wash, and storage of clothes and textile products', 'environment friendly fibers' and 'natural detergents'. Then they were implemented on 7 classes in middle school located in Gyeonggi-do Province from August 20 to September 7 in 2018. The health beliefs data collected before and after the course were analyzed with paired t-test with SPSS/win. As a result, the perceived threat(combination of perceived severity and perceived susceptibility), the perceived benefit, and the self-efficacy were significantly improved. And the perceived barrier was significantly reduced. In conclusion, the home economics clothing safety education course using the health belief model was meaningful as the safety education to enable middle school students to practice safe clothing life from harmful substances. The results of this study are expected to be helpful for activating safety education in home economics.
Recently, as the number of Internet users are growing explosively, e-learning has been applied spread, as well as remote evaluation of intellectual capacity However, only the multiple choice and/or the objective tests have been applied to the e-learning, because of difficulty of natural language processing. For the intelligent marking of short-essay typed answer papers with rapidness and fairness, this work utilize heterogenous linguistic knowledges. Firstly, we construct the semantic kernel from un tagged corpus. Then the answer papers of students and instructors are transformed into the vector form. Finally, we evaluate the similarity between the papers by using the semantic kernel and decide whether the answer paper is correct or not, based on the similarity values. For the construction of the semantic kernel, we used latent semantic analysis based on the vector space model. Further we try to reduce the problem of information shortage, by integrating Korean Word Net. For the construction of the semantic kernel we collected 38,727 newspaper articles and extracted 75,175 indexed terms. In the experiment, about 0.894 correlation coefficient value, between the marking results from this system and the human instructors, was acquired.

The purpose of this research is to plan the activation of university health business through the appraisal of the function and role of university health centers. To be more specific: Firstly, analyze the facility, personnel, health service of the health centers, Secondly, appraise the role and function of the health centers, and Thirdly, consider the activation plans of health centers. The research method taken was the study of surveys conducted and written research materials on 5 women's universities in Seoul. These materials where descriptively analyzed by converting the surveys, facility and usage of health center and current personnel status in to percentage. The major results of the research are as follows: Unlike as stated in each university's additional clause on the number of personnel were working. This lack of specialized personnel resulted into lack of specialized and various services. Medicine for external application were stocked well whereas only simple medicine for internal application were on shelf and were issued only with a doctor's prescription. Universities with a full-time doctor had various available equipments. One university conducting dental treatment was equipped with indirect chest camera, dental X-ray, unit, chair(dental treatment chair) and even supersonic, electrocardiogram were available. In the case of D women's university, the number of beds compared to the number of students was lower than that of the other 3 universities, to the total size of the university was smaller than that of the other 3 universities. Among health prevention and care matters, health consultation was the only matter practised by all universities. Uniquely, there was one university that hosted epidemic prevention business. There are various tests given by each university, with each showing many differences, but some universities did not even conduct these tests. Vaccinations were usually being conducted through commission. All universities provided basic treatment, therefore matters concerning treatment at health centers were being conducted well. Concerning the management of equipment and documents, all the matters were being conducted except one university where instead of a student medical record, they were using a daily record. Because these were women's universities, most of the educations were on women's health. The subjects of these educations included: sex, contraception, prevention and control of tuberculosis, obesity, mouth hygiene, alcohol, geriatric disease, mental health and first-aid. The rate of health center usage is growing. Being women's universities, the service and treatment practised were mostly concerning sex education.
