Low liquid limit silt, widely distributed in the middle and down reaches of Yellow River, has the disadvantages of poor grading, less clay content and poor colloidal activity. It is very easy to cause vehicle jumping at the bridge-embankment transition section when the low liquid limit silt used as the backfill at the abutment back. In this paper, a series of laboratory tests were carried out to study the physical and mechanical properties of the low liquid limit silt used as back filling. Ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS) was excited by active MgO and hydrated lime to solidify silt as abutment backfill. The optimum ratio of firming agent and the compaction and mechanical properties of reinforced soil were revealed through compaction test and unconfined compressive strength (UCS) test. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) test was used to study the pore characteristics and hydration products of reinforced soil. 6% hydrated lime and alkali activated slag were used to solidify silt and fill the model of subgrade respectively. The pavement settlement regulation and soil internal stress-strain regulation of subgrade with different materials under uniformly distributed load were studied by model experiment. The effect of alkali activated slag curing agent on curing silt was verified. The research results can provide technical support for highway construction in silt area of the Yellow River alluvial plain.
Cardiac hypertrophy is a form of global remodeling, although the initial step seems to be an adaptation to increased hemodynamic demands. The characteristics of cardiac hypertrophy include the functional reactivation of the arrested fetal gene program, where histone deacetylases (HDACs) are closely linked in the development of the process. To date, mammalian HDACs are divided into four classes: I, II, III, and IV. By structural similarities, class II HDACs are then subdivided into IIa and IIb. Among class I and II HDACs, HDAC2, 4, 5, and 9 have been reported to be involved in hypertrophic responses; HDAC4, 5, and 9 are negative regulators, whereas HDAC2 is a pro-hypertrophic mediator. The molecular function and regulation of class IIa HDACs depend largely on the phosphorylation-mediated cytosolic redistribution, whereas those of HDAC2 take place primarily in the nucleus. In response to stresses, posttranslational modification (PTM) processes, dynamic modifications after the translation of proteins, are involved in the regulation of the activities of those hypertrophy-related HDACs. In this article, we briefly review 1) the activation of HDAC2 in the development of cardiac hypertrophy and 2) the PTM of HDAC2 and its implications in the regulation of HDAC2 activity.
The study examined the pathways from maternal reactions to children's negative emotions to children's peer relations through children's empathy and emotional regulation. The participants in this study comprised 463 elementary school 4th-6th graders. They completed questionnaires on maternal reactions to children's negative emotions, levels of children's empathy, maladaptive emotion regulation types and skill levels of children's peer relations. Data were analyzed by means of structural equation modeling. It was found that in the case of maternal emotion coaching reactions, when done indirectly, as well as directly, had an influence on their levels of peer relations. On the other hand, in the case of over-sensitive maternal reactions, when done indirectly, but not directly, had an influence on their levels of peer relations. Therefore, these results indicate that children's empathy mediated the effects of maternal emotion coaching and over-sensitive reactions on peer relations. It also found that there are distinct pathways from maternal reaction types to children's negative emotions to peer relations through empathy and maladaptive emotion regulation types.
This study was conducted to explore the effects of novelty seeking temperament and harm avoidance temperament on school adjustment in middle school students and to investigate the mediating effects of emotional regulation on the relationship between temperament and school adjustment. A survey was conducted on a random sample of 672 middle school students. Data were analyzed using PASW ver. 18.0 and AMOS ver. 18.0 to carry out descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and the structural equation model. The main results of analysis could be summarized as follows. First, novelty seeking temperament and harm avoidance temperament had a negative influence upon school adjustment in middle school students. Second, emotional regulation had a positive influence upon school adjustment in middle school students. Third, temperament acted as a partial mediator for emotional regulation affecting school adjustment in middle school students. The study contributes to the literature by providing fundamental insights into school adjustment in middle school students.
Objectives : The purpose of the study is to investigate the relationship between the dental fear, self-esteem, and self-regulation in oral health quality of life in the adolescents. Methods : A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by the 826 adolescents from March 5 to 16, 2012 in J city. Results : Higher self-esteem(${\beta}$=0.186) was closely related to higher oral health-related quality of life(p<0.001). Dental fear had indirectly influenced on self-esteem and self-regulation, and had significant differences(p<0.05). The model showed that dental fear and oral health-related quality of life were a suitable structural model due to higher fit indices. Conclusions : Self-esteem and self-regulation were the important variables to oral health-related quality of life. There was a close relationship between the dental fear and oral health-related quality of life.
Control systems are used to limit structural lateral deflections during large external loads such as winds and earthquakes. Most recently, the semi-active control approach has grown in popularity due to inexpensive control devices that consume little power. As a result, recently designed control systems have employed many semi-active control devices for the control of a structure. In the future, it is envisioned that structural control systems will be large-scale systems defined by high actuation and sensor densities. Decentralized control approaches have been used to control large-scale systems that are too complex for a traditional centralized approach, such as linear quadratic regulation (LQR). This paper describes the derivation of energy market-based control (EMBC), a decentralized approach that models the structural control system as a competitive marketplace. The interaction of free-market buyers and sellers result in an optimal allocation of limited control system resources such as control energy. The Kajima-Shizuoka Building and a 20-story benchmark structure are selected as illustrative examples to be used for comparison of the EMBC and centralized LQR approaches.
Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the influence of post-traumatic stress on professional quality of life as mediated by cognitive emotion regulation among nurses working in small and medium hospitals who have experienced violence and to develop and test a structural equation model of that professional quality of life. Methods: Participants were 215 nurses who had experienced violence working in medium and small hospitals. They were surveyed using a structured questionnaire. Results: The final model was shown to have good fit with χ2 (2.83), GFI (.90), TLI (.90), and CIF (.90). Therefore, the model was selected as the final model, supporting 7 of the 11 hypotheses. Post-traumatic stress, adaptive emotional regulation, and maladaptive emotional regulation had significant impacts on empathy satisfaction (professional quality of life subscale) and empathy fatigue (subscale of professional life quality) among nurses who had experienced violence, and the explanatory power of these variables was 28.7% and 38.6%, respectively. Conclusion: In the development of nursing intervention programs to improve the professional quality of life of nurses who have experienced violence, factors such as post-traumatic stress and cognitive emotion regulation (adaptive and maladaptive) should be considered as they were identified in this study as influencing the professional quality of life of such nurses in medium and small hospitals.

Overload vehicles operate damage to road, bridge, and then increasing in maintenance and repair cost because structures are reduced durability. The existing regulation systems have many problems and need coping measure. Therefore, this paper organized Ubiquitous sensor network system for development of intelligent auto overload vehicle regulation system about high speed vehicles, also axial load WIM sensor was selected by indoor experiment through wireless protocol. And we examined possibility U-load auto overload vehicle regulation system through experiment of the transmission and reception distance. If this system will apply to road and bridge, might be effective for economy and convenience through establishment of U-IT system. And high speed vehicle that was amalgamate IT technology and existing overload regulation problems, also tested wireless sensor for USN organization. This experiment aim to organize system interface for user through perfection man-less, wireless system of Internal/External Network from high speed WIN sensor with USN organization. Accordingly, it is necessary experimentation through Test Bed for constitution External network and application of actually regulations using WCDMA/HSDPA.
Many a number of policies have been tried to reduce auto accidents so far, but it is obvious that further studies are still needed to find a more fundamental and multi-dimensional preventive measure with effect. The National Mental Health Statistics shows that the most profound forms of negative emotions, that is, depression and anxiety, have been increasing, but studies on such a topic are scarce to find. Therefore, we conducted a structural analysis between the negative emotions, including depression and anxiety, of drivers and their driving behaviors using a Structural Equation Modeling(SEM) technique. The review of past literature and studies indicated that not all of human emotions manifest themselves as the ultimate behaviors because they go through emotion regulation Strategies. For this reason, the purpose of this study was set to analyze the structural model developed in this study reflecting the emotion regulation strategies. The result of our analysis showed that the driver's negative emotion had a more significant influence on dangerous driving behaviors than safe ones, and especially, the expressive suppression strategy was found to be the highest factor. Also, the total effect analysis with the negative emotional factors showed that expressive suppression had more significant influence compared to that of cognitive reappraisal. The implication of this study might provide a better understanding on driving behaviors of the drivers and could be used as a fundamental study for future policy development to reduce traffic accidents.
The purpose of this study was to analyze that mother's daily hassles, children's cognitive regulation and children's emotive regulation are prospectively related on children's school readiness and to investigated the mediating role of children's cognitive regulation and children's emotive regulation between mother's daily hassles and children's school readiness. Also in particular children's sex. This study used data from 273 preschooler and their mothers from kindergartens and child care centers located in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. The data was processed by SPSS 24.0 and Mplus 6.0. Pearson's correlation, confirmatory factor analysis(CFA), structural equation modeling(SEM), multi group analysis were used to find out the relationships and mediating effect. The results of this study were as follows: First, mother's hassles had a direct effect on children's cognitive regulation and children's emotive regulation. However, mother's hassles didn't have a direct effect on physical health and motor development, cognition development and general knowledge, social-emotional development, and life habit and attitude. Second, children's cognitive regulation had a direct effect on physical health and motor development, cognition development and general knowledge. And children's emotive regulation had a direct effect on social-emotional development. Third, children's cognitive regulation fully mediated the relation between mother's hassles and physical health and motor development, cognition development and general knowledge of school readiness. Also, children's emotive regulation fully mediated the relation between mother's hassles and social-emotional development of school readiness. Forth, mother's hassles had a little effect on boy's cognitive regulation, but boy's cognitive regulation had effect on physical health and motor development of school readiness stronger than girls.
