  • 로봇의 메커니즘 중 가장 어렵고 필수 구성 수단인 부품으로 여겨지는 것은 관절이다. 이에 관해서 오래 전부터 많은 연구가 수행되고 있다. 본 논문은 이 로봇관절에 대한 것으로 축에 연결된 구형 또는 반구형 영구자석을 이용하여 관절의 자유도를 늘림과 동시에 응답속도를 빠르게 하기 위한 장치에 대한 연구로서 영구 자석과 고정자 사이에 공극을 두고 서로 수직으로 교차하도록 고정자 권선을 배치하고 권선에 전류를 흘려서 관절을 움직이게 하는 방법이다. 구형 또는 반구형자석이 장착된 축과 반구형 쉘(shell) 내부에 교차하는 두 개의 고정자 권선이 장착된 축으로 구성된 것을 특징으로 한다.

  • Fe nanopowders were successfully synthesized by plasma arc discharge (PAD) process using Fe rod. The influence of chamber pressure on the microstructure was investigated by means of X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FE-SEM), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) and X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS). The prepared particles had nearly spherical shapes and consisted of metallic cores (a-Fe) and oxide shells (Fe$_{3}$O$_{4}$), The powder size increased with increasing chamber pressure due to the higher dissolution and ejection rate of H$_2$ and gas density in the molten metal.

  • A nonsteady axi-symmetric ideal flow solution is obtained here. It is based on the rigid perfect-plastic constitutive law with the Tresca yield condition and its associated flow rule. The process is to deform a circular solid disk into a spherical shell of prescribed geometry. It is assumed that there are no rigid zones and friction stresses. The solution obtained provides the distribution of kinematic variables and involves one undetermined function of the time. This function can be in general found by superimposing an optimality criterion.

  • A flexible structure submerged in acoustic fluid is affected by its surrounding fluid. In transient response of a submerged structure, the coupled effect between structures and surrounding fluid emerges as damping and added mass at early and late time, respectively. Therefore, the characteristics of submerged structure such as natural frequencies and damping coefficients are changed by its surrounding fluid. In this paper, the analytic modal equation of a spherical shell surrounded by water and air is dealt with. Through the example, the damping coefficients and natural frequencies of flexible structures are studied for various external acoustic fluid and structures.

GALAXY CORRELATION IN A BUBBLY UNIVERSE

  • Recent redshift surveys suggest that most galaxies may be distributed on the surfaces of bubbles surrounding large voids. To investigate the quantitative consistency of this qualitative picture of large-scale structure, we study analytically the clustering properties of galaxies in a universe filled with spherical shells. In this paper, we report the results of the calculations for the spatial and angular two-point correlation functions of galaxies. With ${\sim}20%$ of galaxies in clusters and a power law distribution of shell sizes, $n_{sh}(R){\sim}R^{-{\alpha}}$, ${\alpha}\;{\simeq}\;4$, the observed slope and amplitude of the spatial two-point correlation function ${\xi}_{gg}(r)$ can be reproduced. (It has been shown that the same model parameters reproduce the enhanced cluster two-point correlation function, ${\xi}_{cc}(r)$). The corresponding angular two-point correlation function $w({\theta})$ is calculated using the relativistic form of Limber's equation and the Schecter-type luminosity function. The calculated w(${\theta}$) agrees with the observed one quite well on small separations (${\theta}{\lesssim}2deg$).

  • A flexible structure submerged in acoustic fluid is affected by its surrounding fluid. Therefore, the coupling effects by its surrounding fluid complicatedly change the characteristics of a submerged structure such as natural frequencies and damping coefficients. In this paper, using the analytic modal equation of a spherical shell surrounded by water and air, the complex changes of damping coefficients and natural frequencies of submerged structures are studied for various external acoustic fluid and structures.

LNG 압력용기의 설계 (A LNG Pressure Vessel Design)

  • In this paper the LNG vessel of the Moss type which is capable of lifting 15,261 tons is investigated in the view point of the pressure vessel preliminary design using the finite element method. The Pressure vessel design is based on the equivalent stress levels due to the internal pressure. The finite element model of the spherical pressure vessel is configured using 4 noded quadrilateral shell element. The finite element analysis program NASTRAN and ANSYS 5.5are implemented. The design is compared with the three kinds of the boundary condition : first, where the equator of the pressure vessel is fixed, and where the top and is fixed, and, the bottom end is fixed, respectively. A comparison is presented between the results obtained by the finite element model and by the prototype production model. Additionally just below position(case 1 & case 2) of equator ring was carried out by using ANSYS 5.5. The results show that the vessel design based on the stress is acceptable at the preliminary design.

Purification of fusion ferritin using silica powder and DEAE chromatography

  • Iron is an essential nutrient for most organisms, which supplied to them in a protein-iron complex known as ferritin. Ferritins are multimeric proteins those are consisted of spherical shell of 24 subunits defining a cavity of about 8nm in diameter. Soluble form of ferritin was separated from disrupted cells, followed by silica powder adsorption. Ferritin was recovered from silica-poweder by distiiled water, which was applied to DEAE anion exchage chromatography. Collected fractions from the DEAE column were assayed to gain the amount and the purity of ferritin by using GF-HPLC.

  • 수용성 형태로 존재하는 융합 페리틴을 정제함에 있어서 실리카 분말을 이용한 전처리 공정은 전체 정제 공정효율 증가에 기여하였다. 전처리 공정을 통해 정제된 융합 페리틴의 순도를 높이기 위해 젤 여과 크로마토그래피를 통해 보다 정제된 응합 페리틴을 얻을 수 있었다. 이렇게 정제된 융합 페리틴의 철분결합능력을 분석해본결과 320 moles $F_{H}+F_{L}$ mole로 활성이 우수함을 알 수 있었으며, 분자량 분석을 통해 융합페리틴(40 k dalton)은 trimer와 monomer형태로 존재함을 확인할 수 있었다

Polarization of Double Peaked Active Galactic Nuclei

  • A small number of active galactic nuclei are known to exhibit prominent double peak emission profiles indicating the presence of a relativistic accretion disk model. Using a Monte Carlo technique, we compute the linear polarization of a double peaked broad emission line. A Keplerian accretion disk is adopted for the double peak emission line region and the Schwarzschild geometry is assumed in the emission region. Far from the accretion disk where flat Minkowski geometry is appropriate, we place a scattering region in the shape of a spherical shell sliced. We generate a line photon in the accretion disk in an arbitraray direction in the local rest frame and follow the geodesic of the photon until it hits the scattering region. The profile of the polarized flux is mainly determined by the relative location of the scattering region with respect to the emission source. When the scattering region is in the polar direction, the linear degree of polarization also shows a double peak structure. Under a favorable condition we show that up to 1% of linear degree of polarization may be obtained.
