경기 및 인천지역 영양(교)사의 당류 저감화 인식과 첨가당 사용실태 (Perception of Sugar Reduction and Added Sugar Use among Dietitians or Nutrition Teachers in Gyeonggi and Incheon)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate dietitians or nutrition teachers' perception of sugar reduction and usage of sugars in school meal service. A survey was conducted for dietitians or nutrition teachers at elementary, middle, and high schools in Gyeonggi and Incheon. Survey data were analyzed according to the experience period and school types of dietitians or nutrition teachers. The numbers of subjects according to work experience period were 134 (44.2%) for <5 years, 68 (22.4%) for ${\geq}5$ and <10 years, and 101 (33.3%) for ${\geq}10years$. Among the subjects, 168 (55.4%) were nutrition teachers at kindergarten/elementary schools, and 135 (44.6%) were at middle/high/special schools. Perceptions of sugar reduction programs were higher in kindergarten/elementary schools than in middle/high/special schools. The perception of added sugar use increased with more work experience, and interest in sugar reduction was higher in kindergarten/elementary schools than in middle/high/special schools. Practice for added sugar reduction increased with more work experience, and the most common method for reducing sugar was use of natural sugars. The main reason for not reducing added sugars in school meals was due to preference. Nutritional education for students increased with more work experience and was higher in kindergarten/elementary schools than in middle/high/special schools. The major nutritional education methods were using school homepage (37.4%), sending family letters (37.4%), and using principle's discretion time (18.4%). Organic sugar and rice taffy were used more at kindergarten/elementary schools, and white sugar, brown sugar, and white syrup were used more at middle/high/special schools. The most common menu using added sugars was stir-fried dishes (stir-fried pork, chicken, and vegetables).

미국의 교원 질 관리체제에 관한 사례분석 및 시사점 (The Case Analysis and It's Implications of Teacher Quality Management System in America)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 미국의 교원 질 관리체제에 관한 사례를 분석하고 그 시사점을 제공하는 것이다. 이를 위해 미국 교원정책의 주요 특징, 펜실베이니아주립대학교의 교원양성체제, 펜실베이니아주의 교원자격, 선발 및 임용체제, 뉴저지주 및 뉴욕주의 수석교사제를 분석하였다. 주요결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 미국의 교원정책은 다양성과 자율성을 기반으로 주정부 및 학교구에 따라 다양하게 운영되고 있어 일률적으로 제시하기가 어렵다. 둘째, 미국의 교원정책에서 교원양성의 경우 교원양성기관(주로 대학)의 교원양성 프로그램에 대한 평가를 엄격히 시행하고 있다. 셋째, 교원자격의 경우 교원자격증 취득을 위한 다양한 시험제도를 운영하고 있으며, 시험은 별도로 시행하는 것이 아니라 모두 표준화된 시험을 사용하고 있다. 넷째, 교원 선발 및 임용(채용)의 경우 선발을 위한 별도의 시험제도는 없으며, 임용(채용)은 계약직으로 이루어진다. 다섯째, 우수교원을 활용한 질 관리의 경우 미국은 수석교사제를 운영하고 있으며, 이는 우리나라에서 현재 운영 중인 수석교사제와 비슷하다고 할 수 있다. 마지막으로, 최근 "모든 학생의 성공법"의 도입으로 교원양성기관의 개혁이 예상된다. 이러한 주요결과를 토대로 한국 교원정책을 위한 시사점을 제시하였다.

중·고등학교 교사의 정신건강 관심군 학생 지도 경험 (Experiences with Guiding Students with Mental Health Support Needs among Middle and High School Teachers)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to clarify the social stigma phenomenon in teachers' perceptions and attitudes toward students who are classified as mental health support needs students in middle and high schools. Methods: Qualitative research was conducted through in-depth interviews and observations of 17 teachers and 2 consultants from 2 middle and high schools in Green City, which were evaluated as successful among the six pilot project schools designated by the Ministry of Education in 2013. The study's analysis is based on Hatch's hermeneutical method. Common categories were developed from the interviews and observations. Then, inferences were made per category and given importance to draw conclusions and lessons. Results: Teachers had a strong stigma in their perceptions of and attitudes to special needs students. Their perception was that those students are bound to go wrong due to family problems, even some having difficulty breathing, and that it's beyond their limit to help them. In addition, their attitudes included stereotypes, favoritism, punishment, and referral to experts. As a result, teachers did not expect those students would be cured or change and showed passive attitudes while shifting the responsibility to families and experts. Conclusion: This study is meaningful in that it showed the limitations of the role of teachers regarding mental health support needs students from the perspective of the teachers themselves. Today, when students' mental health problems are emerging as a serious issue, it is necessary to provide support to improve teacher's awareness and capabilities regarding adolescent mental health problems. In addition, we suggest the current selective policy that sorts out special needs students and provides care for them to evolve into a universal policy that improves public awareness and focus on prevention.

초등교육 (Elementary Education in Korea : A Look to the Future)

  • Elementary education in Korea has variously changed and developed during the last thirty years. Among all the progressive changes, the improvement of teaching conditions is considered to be the most fundamental one. The number of students assigned to a class or a teacher has decreased to a considerable extent. Cyber teaching-learning has been peformed at school and home, and English education has been emerged as a significant part of the Korean public education. The research issues constantly considered essential over the past three decades starting in the 1980's are those related to curricula, teaching-learning methods, training of teachers in-service, and education for upright characters. The practical and political issues should be dealt with to revise the three integrated subjects and text books into a sole integrated subject and text book, to double the credential of teachers in terms of professionalism and to decrease the number of students per teacher in Korea to the OECD level.

과학 실험 교육의 현황과 실험 시약 사용의 주의사항 (The Present Status of Science Experimental Education and the Cautions on Using Toxic Chemicals)

  • This research aims to perceive the present state of science experimental education practiced in middle school and also to improve the laboratorial environment. Accordingly, this study surveyed 297 middle school science teachers in Seoul to examine the risks and accidents occurred during lab sessions, the conditions of chemical waste disposal, and whether or not teacher's manual clearly states cautions on toxic chemicals. About 70%(69.6%) of science teachers were highly concerned about risks and toxicity of chemicals used in classes, 59.9% experienced actual accidents, and 83.2% were anxiety of incidents caused by chemicals. Besides, 55.2% of science teachers answered that they have little knowledge about caring noxious chemicals used in lab sessions. So it turns out that they need more specific education on handling toxic chemicals. More than one third(36.7%) answered that they disposed of chemical waste water without any special care or kept it in the lab after experiments. The number of chemicals as well used in middle school curriculum is increasing as grades gets higher toxic chemicals. However, there are few teachers' manual covering how to handle noxious chemicals. Therefore, in middle school curriculum the number of poisonous chemicals should be minimized as much as possible, and in case the toxic chemicals have to be used, teacher's guide book should state precautions on handling chemicals in detail. Also government should make it obligatory on schools to instate ventilator for chemical waste, or to transport the waste to proper disposal systems.

  • 로봇 교육이 갖는 교육적 효과에 대한 인식의 확산에 따라 교육용 로봇을 이용한 교육을 실시하는 곳이 점진적으로 증가하고 있다. 그러나 현재 실시되고 있는 대다수의 교육현장은 일반 학생들에게 초점이 맞추어져 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 장애 학생들에게도 로봇활용 교육의 장점을 살려서 교육이 이뤄지기를 기대할 수 있도록 그들을 가르칠 예비 특수교사들을 위한 로봇활용교육 프로그램을 개발하였다. 본 논문을 통하여 로봇활용교육이 특수교육에서 필요한 분야라는 결과를 도출하였고, 이를 위한 제언을 통하여 특수교육현장 에서 로봇활용교육을 할 수 있도록 강조하였다.

  • This study was conducted from reviews of school health and sample surveys of school nurses, physical special education teachers and principals for the development of school health education with specia, regard to health promotion. The results are as follows : First the school health program should be reorganized to develop a school health education curriculum and to promote health in general. Second, We must develop a health education textbook for primary and secondary schools. Third, this health education textbook must be taught by school nurses in regular courses. Fourth, a teacher's health promotion program must be developed and operated by school nurses and teachers for the support of this school health education curriculum.

대구교육대학교와 뉴질랜드 오클랜드교육대학의 수학과 교육과정 및 강의평가에 대한 소고 (A Study on Curriculum and Lecture Assessment between Daegu National University of Education and Auckland College of Education in the New Zealand)

  • 지금까지 우리나라의 교육대학은 오로지 국가사회가 기대하는 유능한 초등교사의 양성이라는 특수목적 대학으로서의 공통적인 사명감을 가지고 오늘에 이르렀다. 어느 대학을 막론하고 그 대학의 교육과정을 들여다보면 학생들이 무엇을 공부하고 있고 어떤 방향에 교육의 초점이 맞추어져 있는지를 짐작할 수 있다. 그런데 현재 우리나라의 10개 교육대학교에서 운영되고 있는 수학과 교육과정의 내용은 구성원의 전공(순수수학, 교과교육, 기타 등)이나 그 학교 나름대로의 상황에 따라서 약간씩 차별적으로 운영되고 있는 것이 사실이다. 본 연구에서는 비록 단편적이기는 하나 현재 대구 교대 수학교육과 에서 운영되고 있는 교육과정과 뉴질랜드 오클랜드 교육대학 수학센터에서 개설되고 있는 교육과정을 알아보고 동시에 양 교육대학에서 이루어지고 있는 강의평가 시스템을 살펴봄으로서 특수목적대학으로서의 미래지향적 초등교사 양성에 적합한 수학프로그램 및 강의평가 시스템 개발을 위한 약간의 시사점을 얻는데 있다.

전국 초등학교 영양교육 실태 및 영양교사의 영양교육 실시를 위한 학교에서의 인식도 조사 (A Survey on Practice of Nutrition Education and Perception for Implementing Nutrition Education by Nutrition Teacher in Elementary Schools)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the practice of nutrition education and perceptions for implementing nutrition education in elementary schools. In this survey, 833 dietitians, 808 principals and 3,141 teachers across the country were asked about the present status and problems as well as necessity, methods, education time, education subjects and the proper nutrition educator ratio. The results of the survey showed that only 4.2% of dietitians implemented nutrition education during regular school hours or through special activities. Many subjects responded that the reasons for not practicing nutrition education were systematic problems of lack of time due to too much food service work. Especially, many rural area dietitians responded that the reason was lack of time due to joint management and cooking. Many dietitians, principals and teachers responded that the placement of one nutrition teacher in every school is needed to resolve these problems. Other solutions suggested were the introduction of a dietitian internship, and the modernization of foodservice facilities for principals and teachers. Of those surveyed 98.4 percent of principals and 95.5 percent of teachers responded that nutrition education is urgently needed. Many subjects also responded that the first three years of elementary school are the most proper time for nutrition education and it is best that these lessons are reinforced at least once a month through discretional or special activities. Survey participants responded that the proper ratio for nutrition educators is 400-800 persons for dietitians compared to less than 400 persons for principals. In conclusion, it is hoped that this study will be able to provide a foundation of data for implementing a systematic nutrition education program by nutrition teachers in elementary school.

유치원에서의 특별활동 실시 현황 및 교사의 인식 (Extracurricular Activities in Kindergarten : A survey with Analysis of Teacher's Perceptions)

  • In response to a growing trend toward downward escalation of public school curriculum, the present study surveyed so-called extracurricular activities in kindergartens and analyzed teacher's perception of these activities. Questionnaires were mailed to 1300 private kindergartens and 1116 responses were received. Major findings were that over 89% of the respondents reported doing extracurricular activities in their kindergartens, mostly using 3-4 different kinds of special activities. The 3 most highly ranked lessons in order of frequency were English, art and physical activity. Whole group time was most often used for extracurricular activities. Kindergarten teachers were concerned with the qualifications of teachers for these activities. Teachers of these extra activities usually have no specialized training or supervised experience working with 3-through 5-year-old children.
