Permitted Limit Setting Method for Data Transmission in Wireless Sensor Network (무선 센서 네트워크에서 데이터 전송 허용범위의 설정 방법)

  • The generation of redundant data according to the spatial-temporal correlation in a wireless sensor network that reduces the network lifetime by consuming unnecessary energy. In this paper, data collection experiment through the particulate matter sensor is carried out to confirm the spatial-temporal data redundancy and we propose permitted limit setting method for data transmission to solve this problem. In the proposed method, the data transmission permitted limit is set by using the integrated average value in the cluster. The set permitted limit reduces the redundant data of the member node and it is shows that redundant data reduction is possible even in a variable environment of collected data by resetting the permitted limit in the cluster head.

An Adaptive Rate Control Algorithm for RCBR Transmission of Streaming Video

  • This paper presents an adaptive H.263+ rate control algorithm for streaming video applications under the networks supporting bandwidth renegotiation, which can communicate with end-users to accommodate their time-varying bandwidth requests during the data transmission. That is, the requests of end-users can be supported adaptively according to the availability of the network resources, and thus the overall network utilization can be improved simultaneously. They are especially suitable for the transmission of non-stationary video traffics. The proposed rate control algorithm communicates with the network to renegotiate the required bandwidth fort the underlying video which are measured based on the motion change information, and choose their control strategies according to the renegotiation results. Unlike most conventional algorithms that control only the spatial quality by adjusting quantization parameters, the proposed algorithm treats both the spatial and temporal qualities at the same time to enhance human visual perceptual quality. Experimental results are provided to demonstrate that the proposed rate control algorithm can achieve superior performance to the conventional ones with low computational complexity under the networks supporting bandwidth renegotiation.

FT-Indoornavi: A Flexible Navigation Method Based on Topology Analysis and Room Internal Path Networks for Indoor Navigation (FT-IndoorNavi: 토폴로지 분석 및 실내 경로 네트워크 분석에 기반한 실내 네비게이션을 위한 유연한 네비게이션 알고리즘)

  • Recently many researches have focused on indoor navigation system. An optimal indoor navigation method can help people to find a path in large and complex buildings easily. However, some indoor navigation algorithms only calculate approximate routes based on spatial topology analysis, while others only use indoor road networks. However, both of them use only one of the spatial topology or network information. In this paper, we present a navigation method based on topology analysis and room internal networks for indoor navigation path. FT-Indoornavi (Flexible Topology Analysis Indoornavi) calculate internal routes based on spatial topology and internal path networks to support length-dependent and running-time optimal routing, which adapt to complex indoor environment and can achieve a better performance in comparison of Elastic algorithm and iNav.

Web Services Framework for Geo-spatial Data on Wireless Network (무선 네트워크 환경을 고려한 공간정보 웹 서비스 프레임워크)

  • This paper proposes a Web Service framework on both wired and wireless network environment that can be interoperable and extensible among geo-spatial servers. Mostly, OGC has studied and announced international standards which are related to web services on various kinds of geo-spatial data. Therefore, the proposed framework satisfies interoperability and extensibility for geo-spatial servers by adapting WMS, WFS, WCS, and WRS standards of OGC and web services standards of W3C. This framework, also, satisfies requirements of huge volumed data service, GML service, geo-spatial function service, and wireless network service. This framework consists of geo-spatial servers group, geo-spatial broker, and web-based client. The geo-spatial servers group includes GIS, SIIS, ITS, GNSS, and Telematics server for the purpose of providing various kinds of geo-spatial services. Especially, this paper proposes main memory based GIS server(MMG server) that can efficiently serve huge volumed GML data on wireless network environment. Finally, experimental results about the MMG server and prototype implementations of the framework show the effectiveness of this study.

  • Recently, component-based software has become main trends in designing and developing computer software products. This component-based software has advantage of the interoperability on distributed computing environment and the reusability of pre-developed components. Also, GIS is designed and implemented with this component-based methodology, called Open GIS Component. OGC(OpenGIS Consortium) have announced various implementation and design specification and topic in GIS. In GIS, Spatial analysis functions like network analysis, TIN analysis are very important function and basically, estimate system functionality and performance using this analysis methods. The simple feature geometry specification is announced by OGC to increase the full interoperability of various spatial data. This specification includes just geometry spatial data model. However, in GIS which manages spatial data, not only geometric data but also topological data and various analysis functions have been used. The performance of GIS depends on how this geometric and topological data is managed well and how various spatial analyses are executed efficiently. So it requires integrated spatial data model between geometry and topology and extended data model of topology for spatial analysis, in case network analysis and TIN analysis in open GIS component. In this paper, we design analysis component like network analysis component and TIN analysis component. To manage topological information for spatial analysis in open GIS component, we design extended data model of simple feature geometry for spatial analysis. In addition to, we design the overall system architecture of open GIS component contained this topology model for spatial analysis.

  • I construct a chaotically driven contraction system having some analogy with the information transfer mechanism in the brain system especially from CA1 cell to CA3 cell known from the empirical result. And I consider the properties of the response system on a state space according to the external input into the drive neuron by observing the fractal hierarchical structure. Then I induce the relation between the information about state transition of the chaotic time series and the spatial information on a fractal attractor to confirm the possibility of encoding of time series data to spatial information.

  • Although there have been many researches to construct a database of water distribution networks using GIS, most of them were not linked with an model for the analysis of pipe networks because it is difficult to make spatial data about complex water distribution networks for building a detail model. Therefore, it is necessary to develop the method based on GIS to build geographical data for design of water distribution pipeline systems. In this study, an innovated design support technique using GIS is proposed for a hydraulic analysis model of water distribution networks. With the function of spatial analysis in GIS system, the results from a pipe network model are used to analyze the suitability of the location of pipeline network, the spatial suitability comprised the analysis of the degree of pipe age, the altitude distribution of water pressure, and the water supply system for the customer.

  • W ith the recent advancement of IoT (Internet of Things) technology, there has been much interest in the spatial query processing which energy-efficiently acquires sensor readings from sensor nodes inside specified geographical area of interests. Therefore, various kinds of spatial query processing algorithms and distributed spatial indexing methods have been proposed. They can minimize energy consumption of sensor nodes by reducing wireless communication among them using in-network spatial filtering technology. However, they cannot optimize multiple spatial queries which w ill be w idely used in IoT, because most of them have focused on a single spatial query optimization. Therefore, we propose a new multiple spatial query optimization algorithm which can energy-efficiently process multiple spatial queries in a sensor network. The algorithm uses a concept of 'query merging' that performs the merged set after merging multiple spatial queries located at adjacent area. Here, our algorithm makes a decision on which is better between the merged and the separate execution of queries. For such the decision making, we additionally propose the cost estimation method on the spatial query execution. Finally, we analyze and clarify our algorithm's distinguished features using the spatial indexing methods of GR-tree, SPIX, CPS.

A Spatial Filtering Neural Network Extracting Feature Information Of Handwritten Character (필기체 문자 인식에서 특징 추출을 위한 공간 필터링 신경회로망)

  • A novel approach for the feature extraction of handwritten characters is proposed by using spatial filtering neural networks with 4 layers. The proposed system first removes rough pixels which are easy to occur in handwritten characters. The system then extracts and removes the boundary information which have no influence on characters recognition. Finally, The system extracts feature information and removes the noises from feature information. The spatial filters adapted in the system correspond to the receptive fields of ganglion cells in retina and simple cells in visual cortex. With PE2 Hangul database, we perform experiments extracting features of handwritten characters recognition. It will be shown that the network can extract feature informations from handwritten characters successfully.
