  • In case of slope failure by planted protection is constructed on the slope according to of the choice trend of a recently environmental-friendly countermeasure, there has a limitation about diagnosis and preparation of measure. Also, collapse of tunnel pithead department slope has maximum in construction and countermeasure method of construction choice unlike cut-slope. In this study, analyzed inside circumstance of slope using geophysical exploration for stability analysis and countermeasure inside presentation of tunnel pithead department slope which collapse happens. geophysical exploration used dipole(Dipole-Dipole) method that is based to distribution principle does specific resistance, goes side by side with on-the-spot observation and draws base strength parameter and executed stability analysis, and presented stabilization countermeasure inside of collapse slope on this. I wish to conduce in development and research for use technical development of geophysical exploration technique hereafter by executing geophysical exploration in road collapse spot applying through this study.

  • Recently, the number of tunnels on national roads has been increased due to the trend that construction of the large-scaled cut slopes is limited because of the environmental issues. Therefore, the slope failures of tunnel portal have often occurred. The tunnel portal in use has limitations on selection of the countermeasure and construction against slope failure. In the cases of Suanbo hot springs 1 and 2 tunnel portals, seedding was chosen and constructed as the countermeasureof slope failure when the tunnel was first built but collapsed in April, 2002. In this study, the failure sites were examined accurately through the site investigation and an efficient countermeasure according to stability analysis is presented. It is shown that it is very efficient to use resloping for Suanbo hot springs 1 tunnel and concrete buttress, rock anchor to reinforcement countermeasure, and attached rockfall prevention net by dividing the site into 3 sections for Suanbo hot springs 2 tunnel.

Case Study of Slope Investigation on the Cretaceous Sedimentary Rocks Using the Geological Cross-Sections

  • The subjects of the study are the sedimentary rock slope of the Mesozoic Gyeongsang Supergroup, which has a high risk of failure. The orientation of the slope-face represents a variety of changing characteristics. The rocks of the slope shall be sandstone, siltstone and dacite, and discontinuities shall develop beddings, shear joints, extension joints, and dacite dyke boundary planes. The type and scale of failure varies depending on the type of rock and the strike/dip of the discontinuities, but the toppling failure prevails. Based on the face-mapping data, SMR, physical and mechanical testing of rocks, analysis and review of the stereonet projections and the critical equilibrium analysis, all four representative sections required a countermeasure method because the acceptable safety factor during dry and rainy seasons were far below Fs = 1.5 and Fs = 1.2. After applying the countermeasure method, both the dry and wet conditions of the slope exceeded the allowable safety factor. In particular, the face-mapping data of the slope-face, the geological cross-sections of several representative sections perpendicular to the slope-face, and the critical equilibrium analysis and the presentation of countermeasure methods that have been reviewed based on them are expected to be reasonable tools for the slope stability. In addition, it will be possible to use it as basic data for performance evaluation for slope maintenance.

  • In order to reduce the damage of property and the loss of lives caused by slope failure, the development of an efficient cut slope management system and the proposal of an appropriate countermeasure are required. However, recognizing the cause of slope failure and proposing the adequate countermeasure for failure are difficult tasks because slope failure is occurred by many complicated failure reasons. Therefore, the cut slope database system is developed in this study for the effective tool which Is able to analyze the characteristics and relationship for reasons of slope failure. In addition, this system contributes to the curtailment of governmental budget spending for countermeasures of slope. Moreover, GIS system will be adopted to the database system and the investigation of characteristics relationship between one and another area is in progress.

In the case of Kang-won Do, there are much mountains locals in road wiping away a disgrace and expanded and slant is connoting collapse danger of incision side by each kind calamity being urgent. When route alteration enforces disadvantageous road extension, stability examination and processing way about large slope happened are serious. During road extension work in the Kang-won DO secure stability for falling rock of road slope and failure that happen and established suitable reinforcement and countermeasure in reply in necessity. The Slope is divided rock slope and soil slope, and then in order to analysis soil slope apply LEM theory. And rock slope examined stability about stereographic projection and wedge failure. Is going to utilize in reinforcement and failure prevention if it is efficient cutting as reinterpreting stability and secure stability and wish to consider effective and robust processing plan of great principle earth and sand side, and present countermeasure inside with these data hereafter applying suitable reinforcement countermeasure about unstable section.

  • The road construction with horizontal expansion of country using and augmentation of traffic demand is advanced actively and it accompanies hereupon, the above of 70% of the country is formed at the mountain in our country where the hazard cut slope has been created. In this study, It is prepared a effective management countermeasure of cut slope introduced priority investigation decision method against hazard cut slope which is influenced by abnormally rainfall by an unusual change in the weather such as a guerilla rainfall character. In meaning link, It was executed collapse cause by failure character analysis in the cut slope which has failed for the last five years and it is prepared the hazard grade criterion from E to A grade according to collapse cause. It is decided that a maintenance management grade by the hazard grade classification criterion of cut slope. So It is possible to hazard cut slope. It is established failure protection counter countermeasure by effective maintenance management through the hazard grade c1assification criterion and it will be able to dispose to advanced nation level like Hong Kong and Japanese.

  • So far the Limit Equilibrium Method has been widely used by way of 2-D slope stability analysis for the evaluation of land slides and slope failures. However recently the evaluation of 3-D slope stability analysis has been comparatively possible owing to the developments of obtaining the terrain data and geological data and of 3-D slope stability analysis softwares. In Japan the evaluation of the 3-D slope stability analysis has been necessary for the stability analysis of the tunnel mouth. In this study we inspected the economic effects introducing the 3-D slope stability analysis for larger scale landslides and slope failures. In case of 3-D slope stability analysis of landslides we acquired the results that we reduce the cost of the countermeasure work of pile work by 40% comparing the 2-D slope stability analysis. Moreover in case of the stability analysis of slope failures we figured out the results that we reduce the cost of the countermeasure work of anchor works by 20%. Furthermore we proved that 3-D slope stability analysis is effective for the stability analysis of tunnel mouths around the sides of landslides and large scale embankment which we could have not evaluated by conventional 2-D section stability analysis.

  • In this study, a documentary survey, face mapping, and stability analysis were performed on the collapsed colluvial soil slope. The purpose of this paper is to identify the cause of slope failure and determine slope stability for similar areas. Boring samples were extracted from the slump and laboratory tests were performed to find out the cause of slope failure. In addition, the limit equilibrium method was used in order to determine the stability of the slope. As a result of this investigation and the analysis of data, the type of collapse and cause of slope failure have been shown to have a strong correlation with the natural geographical and geological features which make up the collapse profile of the study area. These results will help to develop guidelines for formulating countermeasure methods.

  • In case of the national roads which is opened in the past, there are carried out the expansion and improvement for enlargement of the traffic demand by industrial development and safety road operation to narrow of road width and serious change of the road alignment with effect of topography and graphical features of a mountain. A protection method using vegetation in the cut-slope has been constructed for harmony of ambient environment after cutting the slope recently. But it requires a study because the surface lose and the failure have been occurred in the large cut-slope which is covered by vegetation. In this study it was presented a countermeasure and examined a stability of contained uncertainty in the cut-slope according to the failure example of the cut-slope which is covered by vegetation. The additional research will be necessary against the development of the investigation technique which executes the stability investigation of the cut-slope which is covered by vegetation.
