  • In this study we deal with a simple computer simulation algorithm to decide the PRT station capacity. PRT system is different from the conventional rail traffic system in such point that the station is off-line so as to guarantee a very short headway. This characteristic has correlation with the accurate prediction of the line capacity and with the scale of the off-line station. In this paper physical factors and vehicles per hour that are necessary to decide the off-line station scale and the off-line station capacity, respectively, are shown through a simple compter simulations.

  • Recently, SRMs are used in automobiles for power assistant steering, accessory motion control and traction drives. Especially in the motion control and traction drives, safety and efficiency are of paramount importance. The paper describes the essential elements faced in designing and constructing driving circuits for a switched reluctance motor for automobiles. An important factor in the selection of a motor and a drive for industrial application is the cost. The switched reluctance motor(SRM) is a simple, low-cost, and robust motor suitable for variable-speed as well as servo-type applications. With relatively simple converter and control requirements, the SRM is gaining an increasing attention in the drive industry. This paper presents a modified C-dump converter for Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) machine application in the cooling system of automobiles. The experiments are performed to verify the capability of applicate control method on 6/4 salient type SRM.

  • This paper presents a indirect vector control system for induction motors using an adaptive fuzzy logic(AFL) speed estimator. The proposed speed estimator is based on the MRAS(Mode Referece Adaptive System) scheme. In general, the MRAS speed estimation approaches are more simple than any other strategies. However, there are some difficulties in the scheme, which are strong sensitivity to the motor parameters variations and necessity to detune the estimator gains caused by different speed area. In this paper, the AFL speed estimator is proposed to solve the problems. The structure of the proposed AFL is very simple. The input of the AFL is the rotor flux error difference between reference and adjustable model, and the output is the estimated incremental rotor speed. Moreover, the back propagation algorithm is combined to adjust the parameters of the fuzzy logic to the most appropriate values during the operating the system. Finally, the validity of the ...

  • The equipment of industrial robot in manufacturing and assembly lines has rapidly increased. In order to achieve high productivity and flexibility, it becomes very important to develop the visual feedback control system with Off-Line Programming System(OLPS). We can save much efforts and time in adjusting robots to newly defined workcells by using OLPS. A proposed visual calibration scheme is based on position-based visual feedback. The calibration program firstly generates predicted images of objects in an assumed end-effector position. The process to generate predicted images consists of projection to screen-coordinates, visible range test and construction of simple silhouette figures. Then camera images acquired are compared with predicted ones for updating position and orientation data. Computation of error is very simple because the scheme is based on perspective projection which can be also expanded to experimental results. Computation time can be extremely reduced because the proposed method does not require the precise calculation of tree-dimensional object data and image Jacobian.

  • This paper presents the promotion of heat transfer through the use of wire-mesh screens. To improve heat transfer in an impingement water system, the wire-mesh screens are installed between the nozzle-to-heater surfaces. When the wire-mesh screens are not employed, this report exhibits the maximum heat transfer and the secondary maximum value at the stagnation point. But in case of using the wire-mesh screens, the transfer coefficient value of maximum heat exists at the stagnation point, and the second maximum value doesn't occur. Therefore, the heat transfer is more improved than 4~6 times that of the mean Nusselt numbers of simple water jet system, Also, within the region presented in this study, the heat transfer was promoted by using the wire-mesh screens at the stagnation point ; thus, the heat transfer was more increased than 6-7. 5 times that of simple water jet system.

  • The object of this paper is to give an overview of one method of modeling and analysing situations involving inter-identification. Hypergame analysis is used as this approach. Hypergame analysis is one of what we call soft system approaches. In this paper, We first reformulate concept of the simple hypergame and define the hypergames with inter-identification as a system consisting of simple hypergames connected by the mutual identification. We propose a definition of solutions for them. Based on the formulation, We derives existence conditions of the solutions. We then apply the framework to a realistic problem. i. e, America-North korea conference problem to demonstrate the validity of the derived theoretical results as well as In obtain some suggestions to improve the problematic situation.

  • Based on the known results of the expected busy periods for the triadic Min (N, T, D) and Max (N, T, D) operating policies applied to a controllable M/G/1 queueing model, a relation between them is constructed. Such relation is represented in terms of the expected busy periods for the simple N, T and D, and the dyadic Min (N, T), Min (T, D) and Min (N, D) operating policies. Hence, if any system characteristics for one of the two triadic operating policies are known, unknown corresponding system characteristics for the other triadic operating policy could be obtained easily from the constructed relation.

  • The structure of a variable liquid column oscillator(a VLCO) is analogous to that of the tuned liquid column damper used to suppress oscillatory motion in large structures like tall buildings and cargo ships. The VLCO is a system absorbing high kinetic energy of accelerated motions of multiple floating bodies in the effect of air springs occurred by installation of inner air chambers. Thus, VLCO can improve the efficiency of energy than wave energy converters of the activating object type made in Pelamis Company. In this research, the experiment was performed that a simple floating body was filled with internal fluid of same draft. The characteristics of motions were evaluated in each case of the opening or closing of the upper valves.

  • Theoretical analysis of noise reduction by a membrane-duct system is presented. When acoustic waves propagate in the membrane-duct, the part of membrane is also excited and its motion is coupled with interior medium. For an infinite plane membrane-duct system, a simple coupled governing equation is derived and solved. One of the characteristics of dispersion relation is that evanescent waves occur below critical frequency. Attaching damping materials to the membrane may improve the absorption efficiency of acoustic energy. The results show that the membrane-duct system can be applied to diminish and absorb low frequency noise in duct instead of passive muffler, such as simple expansion chamber or absorption material.

  • In this paper, well-known Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model is used as the nonlinear plant model and uncertainty is assumed to be included in the model structure with known bounds. Based on the fuzzy models, a numerical robust stability analysis for the fuzzy feedback linearization regulator is presented using Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMI) Theory. For these structured uncertainty, the closed system can be cast into Lur'e system by simple transformation. From the LMI stability condition for Lur'e system, we can derive the robust stability condition for the fuzzy feedback linearization regulator based on Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model. The effectiveness of the proposed analysis is illustrated by a simple example.
