In this paper, the elementary students from the Information class of the Science Education Institute for the Gifted were divided into the experimental and control groups. The two groups took Scratch programming classes and the changes in their sociality were analyzed. The experimental group used the Scratch remix function, an educational programming language, to perform the LT cooperative learning. The control group took general instructor-led classes. The experimental group carried out a team project in which learners should cooperate with each other to produce certain results using the remix function. Twelve 3-hour lessons were taken by the experimental and control groups consisting of 30 and 30 students respectively to verify changes depending on remix-based cooperative learning. According to t-test using the survey results, the experimental group that performed cooperative learning using the Scratch remix function showed more improved sociality than the control group did. There was a statistically significant difference as well.
This study is aimed at verifying the effect of scratch programming education for middle school students on their information science creative personality and technological problem solving tendency. The results of such study can be used as basic data for raising 'future creative talents' armed with problem-solving capability they honed in software education. The results of this research are as follows. First, a statistically significant difference was confirmed between ex ante and ex post samples in a t-test which was performed to verify information science creative personality of the middle school students (t(37)=4.305, p<.01). Their information science creative personality was high in the average score as it dropped from 3.00 in the ex-ante test to 2.51 in the ex post test. It was confirmed that the education of scratch programming influences information science creative personality for middle school students positively, suggesting that middle school students are interested in new problematic situations they found in information science and discover new problem-solving methods in the programming education, thereby showing positive feedback in the education performance. However, it was revealed that the middle school students were unable to immerse themselves in the scratch programming course completely and change their psychological states. Second, a statistically significant difference was confirmed between ex ante and ex post samples in a t-test which was performed to verify their technological problem solving tendency (t(37)=3.074, p<.01). Their technological problem solving tendency was high in the average score as it dropped from 4.06 in the ex-ante test to 3.55 in the ex post test. It was confirmed that the education of scratch programming influences technological problem solving tendency for middle school students positively: they understood problems associated with technology, explored diverse breakthroughs for the identified problems and assessed and improved resolutions. Third, a moderate correlation was confirmed between their information science creative personality and technological problem solving tendency (r=.343, p<.05). Therefore, it is judged that the middle school students who took scratch programming education demonstrated its influence in the correlation between the imagination for problem solving, positivity in the information science creative personality and the confidence for problem solving in the technological problem solving tendency.
Effects of surface defect on thermal stability and stress crack resistance of high density polyethylene geomembranes in environmental conditions were examined by comparing the mechanical properties, chemical resistance and failure times of geomembranes between defective cases under different temperatures. Artificial surface defects were added to the surface of geomembranes by scratch apparatus designed specially. The number of surface defects was increased with the smaller size of scratch induced particles, and the more scratch addition numbers at the shear rate of scratch induced mechanism, 100mm/min. The tensile strength were decreased but the tensile strain was increased with the above conditions. In chemical resistance of defective geomembranes, the tensile strength were decreased but the tensile strain was increased with the longer immersion period and the higher temperature under the same scratch induced conditions. Finally, failure times of defective geomembranes by ESCR test were shifted to the shorter time ranges by increasing temperatures.

The purpose of this study is to develop a game developer career experience program that promotes student participation and to verify its effectiveness. The game developer career experience education program currently operated by Job World is composed of passive course, which makes students less interesting and only passive activities are possible. In this study, we improved the existing coursework type program to experience actual game development using scratch to promote learner participation. Scratch can be created and shared, giving students the opportunity to create their own work. Therefore, this study developed the game developer career experience education program using scratch and verified its effect. Two Delphi tests were conducted to develop the training program and one expert council was held. In addition, pilot classes were conducted from 22 elementary school students and 30 middle school students, and the satisfaction test was conducted. As a result, the developed educational program showed positive results in terms of help, satisfaction, effectiveness, and awareness.

This paper was designed to assess the adhesive properties of hard coatings on non-nitrided and nitrided various tool steels. Estimations of adhesion were done to scratch test which is mainly used in hard coating. The critical load$(L_c)$ between coating and substrate is defined through analysis of frictional load vs. normal load curve, signals of acoustic emission and optical observations. Coatings employed in this study are TiN, CrN and TiAlN, tools as substrates are STD11, STD61 and SKH51. It was classified to substrates with/without intermediate nitrided layer and hard coatings on substrate were deposited by arc PVD. Results showed that harder substrates and coatings give higher values of critical loads.

This paper was designed to assess the adhesive properties of hard coatings on non-nitrided and nitrided various tool steels. Estimations of adhesion were done to scratch test which is mainly used in hard coating. The critical load(Lc) between coating and substrate is defined through analysis of frictional load vs. normal load curve, signals of acoustic emission and optical observations. Coatings employed in this study are TiN, CrN and TiAlN, tools as substrates are STD11, STD61 and SKH51. It was classified to substrates with/without nitrided layer and hard coatings on substrate were deposited by arc PVD. A study on adhesion and wear resistance of VC(vanadium carbide) coating on die steels, STD11 and STD61, has been carried out. The VC coating on the die steels was made by immersing them in molten borax bath, a kind of TRD(thermo-reactive deposition and diffusion). Adhesion strength and wear resistance were investigated using scratch test, indentation test and plate-disc test(Ogoshi type) respectively. The influence of sliding distance on the amount of wear has been determined and dominant wear mechanisms has been characterized using optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and EDS spectroscopy. The critical adhesion strength($L_c$) between VC coating layer and substrate(STD11) was increased to 60N($L_c$) in the scratch test. In the case of STD61, the strength increased to 24N. The wear resistance of VC coated die steels was excellent because the diffusion layer formed just below the coating layer. The dominant wear mechanism was identified as adhesive wear for VC coating die steels which were worn by combination of cracking and plucking of VC fragments and disc.

Recently, the discussion of domain-generality vs. domain-specificity of creativity has been continued. At this point in time, we need to research computer programming activities related to creativity again. While most of existing relative researches have performed TTCT figural tests for evaluating learners' creativity of learning education programming language, our perspective is that verbal creativity is needed on learning education programming language more. In this research, we have developed scratch programming learning based on CPS with the contents using fundamental concepts of computer science from the viewpoint of that programming is a kind of learning required verbal thinking style. This learning program was applied to 17 students of 4th and 5th grade for each 4 classes in 5 days, total 20 classes, this group passed normality test has the result of t-test has found that three subscales (fluency, flexibility and originality) and creativity index (mean of three standard scores) of verbal creativity were improved significantly using the mean of standard scores (100) of TTCT verbal tests as the test value.

Most hard disk drives uses load/unload technology because of benefits as like an increased areal density, a reduced power consumption and an improved shock resistance. However, ramp tilt induced by ramp manufacture and assembly causes mechanical problems such as unload fail in case of exceeding ramp tolerance. In this paper, we focus on experimental analysis for unloading characteristics affected by ramp tilt. We repeatedly perform load/unload test as 500,000 cycles for original model and ramp tilt model. This paper shows that it is possible to analyze unload characteristics through measuring scratch and wear of suspension lift-tab, ramp, suspension dimple-flexure and disk. We also identify structural relation between suspension lift-tab and ramp through scratch and wear of suspension lift-tab and ramp. As the result of measurement and analysis, we can investigate decrease of unloading performance in ramp tilt model.
