일부 보건계열 대학생들의 진로결정자기효능감 및 진로정체감이 취업준비행동에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Career Decision-making Self-efficacy and Career Identity by Health Science College Students on Job Preparation Behavior)

  • Objectives: This study is designed to evaluate the influential factors of career decision-making self-efficacy and career identity by health science college students on their job preparation beaviors. Methods: The total 714 questionnaires were distributed to juniors and seniors of health science college, and the result was statistically analyzed through IBM SPSS statistics 20.0. Results: 1. There was no significant difference of job preparation behavior between male students and female students, and while seniors showed highly active job preparation behaviors, those who had high satisfaction level toward their major studies, high academic achievement, and outgoing personality had highly active job preparation behaviors. 2. Students with high satisfaction level toward their major studies, high academic achievement, outgoing personality, and high expected salaries showed high career decision-making self-efficacy level. 3. Students with high satisfaction level toward their major studies, high academic achievement and highly outgoing personality showed high level of career identity. 4. Subsidiary factors of career decision-making self-efficacy were collection of job information, goal setting, planning, and self-assessment, and all of them showed correlation with job preparation behaviors. 5. Among subsidiary factors of career decision-making self-efficacy, "self-understanding" and understanding of job information showed correlation with job preparation behaviors. Conclusion: For improvement on career decision-making self-efficacy and career identity of health science college students, individual support, psychological support, educational support and other supports regarding job employment to provide wide paths and methods for job preparation behaviors are essential, and through various job employment education program and graded counseling, job preparation behaviors shall be promoted as a great strategy.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify personal, contextual, and cognitive factors influencing the career preparation behavior of Korean nursing students. In this study, an examination was done of the fitness of a path model for the relationship among these factors based on the social cognitive career theory. Methods: The participants were 413 nursing students in South Korea. Data were collected using self-report questionnaires that included self-esteem, social support, self-efficacy, outcome expectation, career decision level, and career preparation behavior. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation analysis, and path analysis. Results: The factors influencing career preparation behavior were self-efficacy, career decision level, self-esteem, outcome expectation, and social support. The factors influencing career decision level were self-efficacy, outcome expectation, self-esteem, and social support. Conclusion: The findings indicate that self-efficacy is an important factor influencing the career behavior of Korean nursing students. Nurse educators should consider personal, contextual, and cognitive factors of nursing students and develop systemic career guidance programs to help nursing students' career preparation behavior.

가천대학교 의과대학 졸업 후 진로지도 프로그램 설계와 운영 (Design and Implementation of a Career Guidance Program at Gachon University College of Medicine)

  • The ultimate goal of career guidance is to help medical students develop a career plan that matches their personal characteristics, allows them to train in their desired subspecialty, and helps them to adapt well to medical practice after graduation. Gachon Medical School has designed a longitudinal career guidance program called GLORI (Gachon Longitudinal Orientation and Career Development), which is based on the outcome of each phase. The program consists of regular courses and portfolio-based career guidance from a mentor professor. In phase 2 (basic medical science), the "Career Seminar" course was developed. This course focuses on self-understanding through a psychological inventory, exploration of postgraduate career paths, and interviews with professors in specialties of interest. In phase 3 (the integration of basic and clinical science), the "Exploring Nonclinical Career Options" course was introduced. This course presents perspectives from doctors who have followed various pioneering career trajectories, including biomedical engineering, medical journalism, writing, public health, health care administration, the pharmaceutical and medical device industries, and other areas. All teaching methods were designed to encourage student participation. The assessment methods are assignment-based, including self-reflective reports and presentations. In addition, a portfolio-based career guidance program is implemented in phases 3 and 4 (clinical clerkship). It is expected that this case study will serve as a practical example for developing comprehensive career guidance programs for medical schools.

과학에 대한 인식 및 학교 밖 경험이 중학생의 과학 진로 희망에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Middle School Students' Perception of Science and Out-of-School Experience on Science Career Aspiration)

  • 이 연구에서는 중학생을 대상으로 성별, 과학성적, 과학에 대한 인식, 학교 밖 경험이 과학 진로 희망에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 이를 위하여 181명의 중학생을 대상으로 설문 조사를 실시하여 과학 진로 희망 여부에 따라 과학에 대한 인식과 학교 밖 경험에 차이가 있는지 조사하고 탐색적 요인 분석을 통해 도출한 8개의 변인과 성별, 과학 성적 등이 과학 관련 진로 희망 여부에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해 로지스틱 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과, '과학 학습에 대한 흥미와 선호'와 '일상 도구 사용' 변인만이 과학 진로 희망 여부를 유의미하게 설명할 수 있는 설명변인인 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 학생들의 과학 진로를 희망을 증가시키기 위해서는 학생들의 과학 학습에 대한 흥미와 선호를 높이고 일상생활에서 도구를 사용하는 경험을 늘리는 것이 중요한 것으로 나타났다.

학생들의 과학진로 선택 과정에 영향을 미치는 요인들 간의 인과관계 분석 (The Analysis of Causal Relationship among Students' Science-related Career Choice and its Factors)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 학생들의 과학관련 진로선택과정의 인과요인을 분석하는 것이다. 학생들의 과학관련 진로선택과정에 대한 인과관계를 구조방정식모형을 구성하여 분석하였다. 개인적 요인, 교육적 요인, 사회적 요인이 과학 진로 희망에 직접 효과를 주고 과학 진로 희망은 과학 진로 선택에 직접 영향을 준다는 연구 가설에 가장 적합한 모형에 의하면, 과학 진로 선택에 과학 진로희망이 0.95의 직접효과를 주며, 개인적 요인이 0.75, 교육적 요인이 0.46, 사회적 요인이 0.11의 간접 효과를 주며 이들 효과가 그대로 총 효과를 주는 것으로 나타났다. 과학진로희망에는 개인적 요인이 0.79의 직접효과 및 총 효과를 주며, 교육적 요인이 -0.21의 직접효과와 0.69의 간접효과를 합하여 0.48의 총 효과를 주고, 사회적 요인이 0.12의 직접효과 및 총 효과를 주는 것으로 나타났다. 한편, 교육적 요인이 사회적 요인에 0.72, 교육적 요인이 개인적 요인에 0.77의 직접 효과 및 총 효과를 주는 것으로 나타났다. 초중고 학생 및 남학생과 여학생으로 대상을 달리하여 인과 효과를 비교 분석한 결과, 학교급별로는 전체 학생들과 경향성이 같고, 각 요인들의 영향 정도만 차이가 있었으나, 성별로는 남녀 학생의 대비가 두드러졌다. 남학생은 사회적 요인의 총 효과가 가장 크고, 그 다음이 개인적 요인, 그 다음이 교육적 요인의 순서로 나타난 데 비해, 여학생은 개인적 요인의 효과가 가장 크고 나머지 두 요인의 효과는 그리 크지 않았으며, 사회적 요인은 음으로 나타났다. 이러한 대상별 분석 결과로부터 각 대상의 과학진로선택과정의 인과관계를 고려한 과학진로교육의 방향에 대한 시사점들을 논의하였다.

The Influence of Employee Competency and Career Management on Career Commitment: Regional Government in Indonesia

  • This study aims to test the influence of employee competency and career management on career commitment in Indonesia. The study uses the cross-sectional data of regional government employees collected from February to April 2020. Regression and structural equation modeling are employed. The results base on the effect of employee competency and career management on career commitment in Indonesia are in line with the existing theory (i.e., Bandura's Career Theory). Employee competency has a significant positive influence on career management and career commitment, which shows that regional government employees with high competency generate effective career management, and in turn career commitment increased. Regional governments with their career management program should formulate human resources management practice policy (e.g., career support, training, career development program, and orientation programs) in order to increase their competency. The positive effect of employee competency on career management is because of the effective training and career development program. The positive influence of career management on career commitment is due to the regional government providing an attractive career program, thus, employees' career commitment improved. The positive influence of employee competency on career commitment via career management is implemented by regional government support to improve the career management program.

경력개발과 경력정체가 간호사의 경력만족에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Career Development and Career Plateau on Career Satisfaction of Nurses)

  • Purpose: In this study, factors affecting career satisfaction of nurses were explored in the career development and career plateau. Methods: Participants were 143 nurses drawn from a general hospital in Busan. independent t-test, one way ANOVA and Hierarchial multiple regression with SPSS/WIN 18.0 program were used for data analysis. Results: The mean score of career satisfaction was 2.85/5, Career development was 2.99/5, and career plateau obtained 2.53/5. The extent of the career satisfaction differ according to age(F=3.60, p=.030), marital status(t=2.42, p=.017), current position(F=6.61, p=.002), total clinical career(F=3.36, p=.023), and work unit(t=0.95, p=.029). The influencing factors in career satisfaction of clinical nurses were organizational career management, career plateau and individual career planning. $R^2=.415$. Organizational career management was the highest significant predictor of career satisfaction(${\beta}=.325$). Conclusion: Factors influencing career satisfaction were organizational career management, career plateau and individual career planning. Thus a program for career development of organization is needed.

이공계 인력의 미래 유망직업 연구동향: 한국.미국.호주의 직업전망을 중심으로 (Trends for the Promising Career of Science and Engineering Workforce: Job Outlook of Korea.USA.Australia)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare and analysis researches related the promising career and job outlook and to provide the direction for job choice to engineering students. Literature review and expert council were used to achieve the objectives of study. The result of this study was analyzed that these jobs were promising, that is, environmental scientist and specialist, earth scientist and hydrologist(education and research related career), architecture and architectural engineer, civil engineer, landscape technician, land surveyor map production expert photo surveyor surveying technician(construction related career), material engineer (mechanics and material related career), mine and geology engineer(chemistry, fiber and environment related career), computer system design and analyst, system software engineer, application software engineer, web specialist, and computer support specialist (electrical and telecommunication related career) and food engineer(food related career). In addition, health silver specialist, bio biomedical engineer, renewable energy specialist etc. were promising by considering social and economic trend for demographic change like aging and green growth.

Career Competencies of Human Resource Development Practitioners

  • The study aims to define the career competency of HRD practitioners based on an intelligent career framework. This intelligent career framework has been described as having been achieved by the accumulation of career capital through the three ways of knowing, including knowing why, knowing how, and knowing with whom. The data were collected from the interviews with 15 HRD practitioners. Semi-structured interviews were used to collect data from the HRD practitioners. For the orientation about the interview, the researcher explained the importance of gathering data about the personal experiences of the respondents on their work and career. After that explanation, the researcher asked several questions based on the pre-structured interview guide. The data collected were qualitatively analyzed on the basis of the intelligent career framework. Based on the analysis of the interviews, the subcategories of each way of knowing competency were identified. For the knowing why, identity, credibility, and career clarity were identified. The subcategories of knowing how are remaining updates, hard skills, and soft skills, while the subcategories of knowing with whom are personal networking and professional networking. The interdependency among the three career competencies was found. The findings provide theoretical implications of applying an intelligent career framework.

일반계 여자고등학교 학생들의 과학관련 진로선택 및 변화 이해 -과학진로 문화자본 관점을 중심으로- (Understanding Female High School Students' Science-Related Career Choice and it's Change -Focus on the Science Career Cultural Capital Perspective-)

  • 본 연구에서는 과학진로 문화자본의 관점에서 일반계 고등학생들의 과학관련 진로선택 및 그 변화를 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 연구목적에 맞게 설문지를 개발하여 일반계 여자고등학교 학생을 대상으로 설문을 실시하였고, 과학관련 진로를 선택한 학생들의 과학진로 문화자본의 요인 및 특징을 알아보았다. 설문 결과 과학관련 진로의 포기, 중간 선택, 유지한 경우에서 각각 4명씩의 참여자를 선별하였고, 12명의 학생을 대상으로 심층면담을 실시하였다. 심층면담을 통해 과학진로 문화자본의 각 요인이 학생들의 진로 선택에 어떻게 영향을 주는지 알아보았다. 연구 결과, 학생들은 외재적 자원을 기반으로 가정, 학교, 지역사회라는 구조 안에서 의무 및 상호관계 규범을 통해 내재적 자원을 형성하였다. 이 때 형성된 내재적 자원은 과학관련 진로에 대한 희망 여부를 결정하였다. 초등학교 때는 주로 과학 및 과학관련 직업에 대한 흥미를 중요시 한 반면, 고등학교로 가면서 진로인식, 적성인식, 진로 가치 요인을 함께 고려하여 과학관련 진로를 선택하였다. 과학에 대한 흥미는 교육 활동과 일상 활동의 영향을 받아 형성되었으며 학년이 높아질수록 교육 활동의 영향이 증가하였다. 과학관련 직업에 대한 흥미는 초등학교 때는 주로 일상 활동을 통해 형성되며, 고등학교로 가면서 다양한 내재적, 외재적 자원이 영향을 주어 형성되었다. 과학관련 진로를 꾸준히 유지한 학생들은 과학 및 과학관련 직업에 대한 흥미를 바탕으로 외재적 자원을 유입시키면서 흥미를 갖는 과학 분야를 좀 더 세분화하고 과학관련 진로를 구체화하였으며, 다양한 외재적 자원과 상호작용하여 내재적 자원을 강화하는 모습을 보여주었다. 본 연구결과는 학생들의 과학관련 진로선택에 있어 과학교육에 시사점을 제공한다.
