By means of statistical analysis and module concept, this paper investigated the current situation of high school girl's uniform and put forward its improved design and database establishment. Combined with the survey data, the future design direction and trend of the high school girls' uniform were proposed. By using modular design concept, the uniform is divided into five modules, and a style database has been built. Meanwhile, the parametric pattern database has been completed by using garment CAD system, based on the style database above, which has 42,336 possibilities to assemble a pair of school uniform. Combining with digital sewing techniques and by using computerized embroidery machine, the personalized design of high school girl's summer uniform has been realized. And two simulated case have been given for examples to prove its feasibility. The idea of modular design and parametric design method proposed in this study offer references for establishing the modular design database and parametric pattern database for other types of school uniform and are of relatively high practical and theoretical value.

The market share of conglomerates is increasing in the Korean school uniform market these days. Functional fit problems occurred. Girls choose slim silhouette often experienced fit problems. The purpose of this study is to probe for functional design elements of high school girls' uniforms. A questionnaire survey was carried out. 202 high school girls took part in the survey. The questionnaire measured school uniform brand preference and size of school uniform jackets. The results of the survey show that over half of participants(56.6%) wore their jackets over nine hours per day. They considered the aesthetics of the design as the most important factor when purchasing school uniforms. That element affected their brand preference. In analyses of the fit suitability, there were no significant differences between brands. The jacket lengths were significantly different among brands, but all were evaluated as being short. About 60% of students had difficulty raising their arms while wearing their school uniform jackets. The results of this study revealed that high school girls' uniform jackets are too short and tight. Ergonomic design elements should be applied to high school girls' uniform jackets.

The response of the adolescents toward school uniform regulations according to personal character and clothing needs was studied. To carry out this experiment, questionnaires were administered to 514 students in middle and high schools in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. The collected data were analyzed with Factor analysis(Varimax rotation), Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, Frequencies Statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis using the SPSS WIN 15.0. By surveying on actual condition of uniform regulation in school, it was found that the existing uniform regulation was unnecessarily strict and caused stress leading a negative educational effect. Based on the relationship among the degree of regulation, stress, and student attitude toward school uniform regulation, stress and negative attitude to uniform regulation increased as the degree of regulation increased, resulting in an decrease in observance behavior of students. Since the stress from the school uniform regulation can be reduced by establishing rational law, which induced voluntary conduct of student to obey, it is important for student to participate in establishment of adoptable and reasonable school uniform regulation law.

A school uniform leads students to good behavior and have them enjoy desirable school life. We analyse the students' view through questionnaire. We asked 544 students questions about the degree of satisfaction on color, design and style of their uniforms. By analyzing the result of the questionnaire, we found the style of the uniform that students preferred. In this study, we suggest some useful information which is necessary to develop new uniform based on utility and creative aesthetic sense. The questionnaire using this research grounded on the questionnaire of the previous study and the subject selected the random samples out of girls' high school student in Deagu·Kyungbuk Area. The result analysis was peformed by SPSS, one of the statistical analysis method.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the wearing situation and satisfaction of school uniforms with the middle and high school boys and girls, who have been in uniforms for one or more years. The subjects for the survey were a total of 560 from the 2nd and the 3rd grade of the middle school, and the 1st and the 2nd grade of the high school. The survey was performed with the questionnaire of 60 questions; 36 questions related to the actual status, such as the purchase, size, repair, and design of a school uniform, and 24 questions related to satisfaction. The results were as follows; 1. Regarding the school uniform purchase, middle school students attached importance to famous brand, while high school students valued design above everything else. The students confused with the school uniform sizing systems were 82.1 % and 72.5 % in middle and high school students. 2. 43% of middle school students and 34% of high school students had experiences of repairing their school uniforms. Regarding the reason for repair, the size misfit was the highest. Boys preferred a single breasted boxy jacket with middle hip line length, and straight trousers, and girls preferred a fitted jacket of waist line length, and flare skirt of the knee line length. 3. School uniform satisfaction score showed that students were not satisfied with their school uniforms so much. Middle school students had significantly lower satisfaction about the design and psychological protection than high school students. Even though high school students showed lower satisfaction about the price and the care of school uniforms, there were no significant differences between them.

The purpose of this study was conducted to provide basic information on developing highschool-uniform pants with more suitable fit. To carry out this study, questionnaires were administered to 187 students in high schools in Gwangju. The collected data were analyzed with frequencies statistics, t-test, ANOVA using the SPSS WIN 18.0. The results are as follows; As results of research on highschool-uniform regulation, 88% of the highschool in Gwangju allowed their students to wear school uniform pants. As results of investigation on the school-uniform pants sizing system of manufacturing firm, it was found that there's a trend towards increasing a large size with the change body type. The size labelling for school uniform pants was waist circumference-stature. There were differences in pants sizes according to the manufacturing firm and body measurements such as hip circumference, in seam length, pants length. As results of survey on wearing conditions, the selection of school uniform pants has increased in winter season. The most important body measurement in the choice of purchase was thigh circumference. In fit of uniform pants, respondents answered that waist circumference and hip circumference became smaller according to the physical growth.

This study aimed to examine the recent Hanbok school uniform design directions to contribute to the distribution of Hanbok school uniforms and the accumulation of Hanbok-inspired fashion design sources. We reviewed 16 academic papers published on Hanbok school uniform designs from 1998 to 2023 and summarized the design features proposed therein. We also analyzed 172 items of Hanbok school uniform designs developed under the Hanbok school uniform promotion project hosted by the Hanbok Advancement Center between 2019 and 2022. We found that the recent Hanbok school uniform design characteristics conformed to the design directions proposed in previous studies in terms of line, color, fabric, and textile pattern. Conforming design characteristics include the following. Overall, silhouettes were straight and moderately fitting to the body. Detailed straight and curved lines from Hanbok were applied. Designs showed traditional Hanbok colors, including white, black, and navy. Machine washable cotton and various blended fabrics were used. Modernized traditional patterns such as Saekdong, cloud, and Gwae were applied to textile designs. In contrast, some characteristics of recent designs deviated from the proposed design directions. Barrel silhouettes were found in casual styles of uniform items, including sweatshirts, hoodies, and jumpers. A wider range of materials, including fleece, quilted fabric, brocade, and Jinju silk, were used. Uniforms had looser silhouettes and were made with modern washable materials to meet students' preference for casual uniforms.

청소년들이 보다 만족할 수 있는 교복에 관한 자료를 얻고자 경기도 안양시 소재 중 고등학교 남녀 472명을 대상으로 의복행동, 교복만족도 그리고 교복변형행동을 설문 조사하였으며 SPSS/WIN (ver.11.0) program으로 통계 처리한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 청소년들은 용돈의 대부분을 의복구입비로 사용하고 있으며 외모관심도, 동조성, 개성, 상표지향성에 대한 의복행동이 높았다. 청소년의 교복만족도는 낮으며. 특히 교복의 신분상징성, 유행성, 세탁관리성, 신체적 안락감, 경제성에 대한 만족도가 낮았다. 청소년의 약 74.8%가 개성과 유행추구를 이유로 교복변형을 찬성하였고 약 58.1%가 교복의 일부 혹은 여러부분을 변형하였으며 교복을 부위별로 줄여서 몸에 밀착된 형태로 변형시키는 경향이 나타났다. 외모관심도, 동조성, 정숙성, 상표지향성에 대한 의복행동이 높은 청소년일수록 교복의 신분상징성, 세탁관리성 둥에 대한 만족도가 높았다. 외모관심도, 유행, 상표지향성에 대한 의복행동이 높을수록 교복변형행동에 영향을 미쳤으나 교복만족도와 교복변형행동과는 유의한 상관관계가 없었다. 앞으로 교복 연구는 외모, 개성, 유행 등의 의복행동을 표현하려는 청소년들의 의복 욕구와 학생다운 이미지, 정숙성, 경제성을 추구하는 기성 세대 간의 요구를 절충할 수 있도록 지속적으로 수행되어야하며 그 결과는 청소년들의 교복 선택과 결정에 실질적으로 반영되며 학교와 교복제작업체는 이를 반영한 교복디자인과 제작을 시행해야 한다고 제언한다.

The purpose of this study was to provide information on how to improve both the satisfaction and the current sizing system for the school uniform focused on middle and high school boys' students. In order to collect the data, a questionnaire was administered to 451 middle and high school boy students. 228 middle school boys' and 223 high school boys' data were analyzed using the SPSS Win. 10.0 program. The results of this study were as follows : 1. For the satisfaction of their school uniform, there were statistical differences in mean of the group by the academic year in the jacket(color, textile, design, activity), shirt(color, design, activity), and pants(color, design, activity) in the case of middle school boys'. On the other hand, high school boys' evaluation of school uniform was significantly different in jacket(color), shirt(color, textile, design, activity), pants(design), and tie(color, textile, design) by the academic year. 2. For the evaluation of sizing fitness, the length of jacket and the breadth of sleeve in jacket, and the width of sleeve in blouse, the length of pants, and the width of pants were statistical differences in mean of the group in middle school boys' by the grade whereas there was no significant difference in high school students by the grade. 3. It was shown that more getting school uniform repaired after the point of purchase in both middle school and high school students was higher.

The purpose of this study was conducted to improve middle and high school students' satisfaction on their uniforms and to provide basic information for their better size systems. This study analyzed the purchasing and modification behavior, fitting evaluation, and size decision aspect of students. This study was surveyed middle and high schools students in Daegu City. The collected data were analyzed by frequency analysis, percentage, t-test, chisquare test. The results of this study are as follows; 61.3% of the students interviewed have experienced to modify their uniforms. Since the unfittable size and non-fashionable design caused the students to modify their uniforms, it seems necessary to set up the various uniform sizes, as well as figuring out its aesthetic characteristic. Between middle school and high school students, and students with a uniform modification and students without a uniform modification, there were partially differences in fitting evaluation, and size decision.
