  • The round robin algorithm is regarded as one of the most efficient and effective CPU scheduling techniques in computing. It centres on the processing time required for a CPU to execute available jobs. Although there are other CPU scheduling algorithms based on processing time which use different criteria, the round robin algorithm has gained much popularity due to its optimal time-shared environment. The effectiveness of this algorithm depends strongly on the choice of time quantum. This paper presents a new effective round robin CPU scheduling algorithm. The effectiveness here lies in the fact that the proposed algorithm depends on a dynamically allocated time quantum in each round. Its performance is compared with both traditional and enhanced round robin algorithms, and the findings demonstrate an improved performance in terms of average waiting time, average turnaround time and context switching.

  • As the result of the study shows, Round Robin Algorithm allows servers to ensure definite traffic distribution, unless incoming data loads differ much. Although error levels are high in some cases, they were eventually alleviated by repeated tests for a long period of time. The study uses two software packages (Packet Capture and Round Robin Test Package) to check packet volume from Virtual Network Structure (data generator, virtual server, Server 1, 2, 3), and finds out traffic distribution toward Server 1, 2, and 3. The functions of implemented Round Robin Load Balancing Monitoring System include round robin testing, system monitoring, and graphical indication of data transmission and packet volume.

  • This paper proposed a effective priority selection algorithm named weighted round-robin algorithm and show the implementation result of DMAC priority selection module using prosed weighted round-robin algorithm. I parameterize timing constraints of each functional module, which decide the effectiveness of system. Proposed weighted round-robin algorithm decide the most effective module for data transmission using parameterize timing constraints and update timing parameter of each module for next transmission module selection. I implement DMAC priority selection module using this weighted round-robin algorithm and can improve the timing effective for data transmission from memory to functional module or one functional module to another functional module.

  • 본 논문에서는 WDRR(Weighted Deficit Round Robin) 기법을 토대로 군사 위성통신망의 QoS를 향상시키기 위한 스케줄링 기법을 제안한다. 제안된 동적 WDRR기법은 통신망 대기열의 패킷의 크기가 커지는 경우 지수이동평균을 이용, 적절한 추가 퀀텀을 부여하여 대기열의 패킷을 효율적으로 전송하는 방법이다. 제안된 알고리즘의 효용성을 증명하기 위해 OPNET Modeler를 이용하여 모의실험환경을 구축하고, 제안된 알고리즘의 신뢰성 및 실시간성을 분석하였다. 이를 통하여, 기존 군사용 위성통신망 스케줄링 기법에 사용되는 WRR(Weighted Round Robin), DRR(Deficit Round Robin), WDRR(Weighted Deficit Round Robin) 등을 비교 분석한 모의실험 결과를 통해 통신망 지연시간과 패킷 손실율에 관한 성능 향상을 보였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 일반적으로 사용되는 fixed priority 방식과 round-robin 방식의 장점을 살리고 단점을 극복하기 위해 위 두 방식에 랜덤 함수 매니저를 결합하여 두 방식을 모두 사용할 수 있는 랜덤 함수 중재 방식을 제안하였다. Fixed priority 방식에서는 우선순위가 낮은 마스터의 스타베이션 현상이 발생하는 문제점을 가지고 있으며, round-robin 방식은 중요한 마스터에게 우선권을 줄 수 없는 단점이 있다. 그러나 제안한 랜덤 함수 중재 방식은 F-F:R-R의 비율을 사용자가 임의로 조정할 수 있어서 기존 중재방식의 문제점을 해결할 수 있었다. TLM 시뮬레이션 결과, 마스터의 버스점유율을 32%에서 16%로 사용자가 임의 조절이 가능했으며, 마스터의 스타베이션 현상도 방지할 수 있었다.

  • This study aimed to investigate the effects of science classes applying round robin strategy on scientific communicative competence, science learning motivation and academic achievement of elementary students. The number of participants were 126, 4 classes of 6th grade in C elementary school in B city. The experimental group, 2 classes including 63 participants, had science classes applying round robin strategy. While the comparative group, 2 classes including 63 participants, took ordinary teacher-driven lessons using teacher's guidebook. Pre and post tests were done before and after intervention to assess the changing in each group's scientific communicative competence, science learning motivation, and academic achievement. The results of this study can be summarized as follows: The science class applying round robin strategy showed significant effect on improving scientific communicative competence and science learning motivation and academic achievement of elementary students.

  • This paper provides simulational round robin test results for welding residual stress prediction of safety/relief nozzle. To quantify the welding variables and define the recommendation for prediction and determination of welding residual stress, 6 partners in 5 institutes participated in round robin test. It is concluded that compressive axial and hoop residual stress occurs in dissimilar metal weld and pre-existing residual stress distribution in dissimilar metal weld was affected by similar metal weld due to short length of safe end. Although the reason for the deviation among the results was not pursued further, the effect of several key elements of FE analyses on welding residual stress was investigated in this paper.

  • In this paper, results of simulational round robin test on residual stress prediction was provided. Welding residual stress is one of the reasons for primary water stress corrosion cracking in PWR. Therefore, quantifying the welding variables and defining the recommendation for prediction welding residual stress is important. Through the round robin test, it is known that compressive axial and hoop residual stress occurs in dissimilar metal weld and pre-existing residual stress distribution in dissimilar metal weld was affected by similar metal weld due to short length of safe end.

데이터 재사용 기법을 이용한 저 면적 DNN Core (Low-area DNN Core using data reuse technique)

  • 임베디드 환경에서의 NPU는 적은 하드웨어 자원으로 딥러닝 알고리즘을 수행한다. 데이터를 재사용하는 기법을 활용하면 적은 자원으로 딥러닝 알고리즘을 효율적으로 연산할 수 있다. 선행연구에서는 데이터 재사용을 위해 ScratchPad에서 shifter를 사용해 데이터를 재사용한다. 하지만 ScratchPad의 Bandwidth가 커짐에 따라 shifter 역시 많은 자원을 소모한다. 따라서 Buffer Round Robin방식을 사용한 데이터 재사용 기법을 제시한다. 본 논문에서 제시하는 Buffer Round Robin 방식을 사용하여 기존의 방식보다 약 4.7%의 Chip Area를 줄일 수 있었다.
