In this paper we prove a reduction theorem of the codimension for real submanifold of quaternionic projective space as a quaternionic analogue corresponding to those in Cecil [4], Erbacher [5] and Okumura [9], and apply the theorem to quaternionic CR- submanifold of quaternionic projective space.

The purpose of this paper is to study n-dimensional QR-submanifolds of maximal QR-dimension isometrically immersed in a quaternionic projective space and to give sufficient conditions in order for such a submanifold to be a tube over a quaternionic invariant submanifold.

We study totally real and complex subsets of a right quarternionic vector space of dimension n + 1 with a Hermitian form of signature (n, 1) and extend these notions to right quaternionic projective space. Then we give a necessary and sufficient condition for a subset of a right quaternionic projective space to be totally real or complex in terms of the quaternionic Hermitian triple product. As an application, we show that the limit set of a non-elementary quaternionic Kleinian group 𝚪 is totally real (resp. commutative) with respect to the quaternionic Hermitian triple product if and only if 𝚪 leaves a real (resp. complex) hyperbolic subspace invariant.

We obtain some characterizations of a pseudo Ricci-parallel real hypersurface in a quaternionic projective space $QP^{n}$ and find the condition that M is locally congruent to a geodesic hypersphere of $QP^{n}$ .

For a compact and orientable minimal real hypersurface $M\;in\;QP^n$, we prove that if the minimum of the sectional curvatures of Mis 3/(4n - 1), then M is isometric to the geodesic minimal hypersphere $M_{0,n-1}^Q$.

In this paper we establish codimension reduction theorem for submanifolds of a (4m+3)-dimensional unit sphere $S^{4m+3}$ with Sasakian 3-structure and apply it to submanifolds of a quaternionic projective space.
