  • In this paper, we present a simple and general lifetime prediction model for PMOSFET by using the correlation between transconductance degradation and gate current influence to solve a problem that that I$_{b}$ is dependent on drain structure. The suggested model is applied to a different channel, drain structured PMOSFET. For all PMOSFETs, dg$_{m}$/g$_{m}$ of PMOSFET appears with one straight line about Q$_{g}$, therefore, this model using I$_{g}$ is consistent with experiment result independently of channel, drain structure. It is, therefore, proposed that a model using I$_{g}$ has a general applicability for PMOSFET's.

  • Monte Carlo method is one of the powerful engineering tools especially to solve the complex non-linear problems. The Monte Carlo method gives approximate solution to a variety of mathematical problems by performing statistical sampling experiments on a computer. One of the methods to predict the time dependent failure probability of one of the bridge components or the bridge system is a lifetime function. In this paper, FORTRAN program is developed to predict the failure probability of bridge components or bridge system by using both system reliability and lifetime function. Monte Carlo method is used to generate the parameters of the lifetime function. As a case study, the program is applied to the concrete-steel bridge to predict the failure probability.

  • The construction of highway bridges is almost complete in many countries including the United States. The government and highway agencies change the focus from constructing to maintaining To maintain the bridges effectively there is an urgent need to assess actual bridge loading carrying capacity and to predict their remaining life. The system reliability techniques have to be used for this purpose. Based on lifetime distribution (function) techniques this study illustrates how typical highway bridges can be modeled to predict their remaining life. The parameters of lifetime distribution are generated by Monte. The results can be used for optimization of planning interventions on existing bridges.

  • This paper proposes a battery lifetime enhancement method based on the nonlinear discharge charisteristics called recovery effect. In general, the stored energy in a battery is considered in the prediction of battery lifetime. However, due to the chemical reaction in a battery, more energy can be drawn from a battery when it is not continuously but intermittently discharged, which is called recovery effect. In the proposed method, several battery cells are alternately discharged, and some battery cells rest while maintaining the system power supply. This makes recovery effect of battery cells, which extends battery lifetime. In the experiment, battery lifetime increases about 7% in the alternating discharge of two battery cells, when compared with conventional parallel discharge.

  • In CPB(Cold-Pad-Batch) dyeing, the rubber of the padder roll is influenced by the heat, chemical and mechanical influences and thus aging of the padder roll rubber occurs. This study presents an accelerated thermal aging test of the CPB padder roll rubber with strong alkali conditions. Using Arrhenius formula of the various property values for the various aging temperatures($80^{\circ}C$, $90^{\circ}C$, $100^{\circ}C$) of the padder roll, the accelerated life predictions could be calculated. The threshold value of the property was set at different values. The hardness was set at the point where 5% degradation occurs based on the actual use conditions, and the tensile strength was set at the point where 50% degradation occurs based on the general life prediction standards. From the results of the different physical properties at differing temperatures, the Arrhenius plot could be obtained. Through the usage of the Arrhenius Equation, significant duration expectation could be predicted, and the chemical aging behavior of the CPB padder roll could be found at the arbitrary and actual temperatures.

  • Magnetic disks have been used for decades in auxiliary storage devices of computer systems. In recent years, the use of NAND flash memory, which is called SSD, is increased as auxiliary storage devices. However, NAND flash memory, unlike traditional magnetic disks, necessarily performs the erase operation before the write operation in order to overwrite data and this leads to degrade the system lifetime and performance of overall NAND flash memory system. Moreover, NAND flash memory has the lower endurance, compared to traditional magnetic disks. To overcome this problem, this paper proposes EPET (Enhanced Prediction and Elapsed Time) wear leveling technique, which is especially efficient to portable devices. EPET wear leveling uses the advantage of PET (Prediction of Elapsed Time) wear leveling and solves long-term system failure time problem. Moreover, EPET wear leveling further improves space efficiency. In our experiments, EPET wear leveling prolonged the first bad time up to 328.9% and prolonged the system lifetime up to 305.9%, compared to other techniques.

  • Tendon corrosion reliability in KICT-ultra high performance concrete (K-UHPC) bridges is assessed and predicted considering uncertainties in flexural bending capacity and corrosion occurrence. In post-tensioning bridge systems, corrosion is a one of most critical failure mechanisms due to strength reduction by it. During the entire service life, those bridges may experience lifetime corrosion deterioration initiated and propagated in tendons which are embedded not only in normal concrete but also in K-UHPC. For this reason, the time-variant corrosion performance has to be assessed. In the absence of in-depth researches associated with K-UHPC tendon corrosion, a reliability-based prediction model is developed to evaluate lifetime corrosion performance of tendon in K-UHPC bridges. In 2015, KICT built a K-UHPC pilot bridge at 168/5~168/6 milestone on Yangon-Mandalay Expressway in Myanmar, by using locally produced tendons which post-tensioned in longitudinal and lateral ways of K-UHPC girders. For an illustrative purpose, this K-UHPC bridge is used to identify the time-variant corrosion performance.

  • Hybrid ad hoc networks are integrated networks referred to Home Networks, Telematics and Sensor networks can offer various services. Specially, in ad hoc network where each node is responsible for forwarding neighbor nodes' data packets, it should net only reduce the overall energy consumption but also balance individual battery power. Unbalanced energy usage will result in earlier node failure in overloaded nodes. it leads to network partitioning and reduces network lifetime. Therefore, this paper studied the routing protocol considering efficiency of energy. The suggested algorithm can predict the status of energy in each node using the energy prediction model. This can reduce the overload of establishing route path and balance individual battery power. The suggested algorithm can reduce power consumption as well as increase network lifetime.
