  • In this study, we examined various aspects of discretionary accruals. We compared the power of Jones Model (JM), Modified Jones Model (MJM) and Performance Matched Model (PMM). Furthermore, we tested whether accruals derived from cash flow approach or balance sheet approach provide better results and we investigated the significance of country and industry control variables in models. In order to perform these tests, we constructed thirty equations. The data consists of 319 non-financial companies over five years in the GCC region. We used panel data regression models, and testing suggests us to use random effect model as the most suitable one. The results show that PMM has the highest explanatory power among models and it is followed by JM and MJM, consecutively. Secondly, results reveal that accruals derived from cash flow approach provide more accurate results. Moreover, country dummies are significant in models with cash flow approach and they lose significance in balance sheet approach. We differentiated industries due to two different classifications: the first group with higher number of industries is more precise compared to the second group with a narrower scope and lower number of industries. The model including both industrial and country-wise dummies scores highest in significance.

  • With rising fuel costs and the depletion of fossil fuels, electric vehicles of high efficiency has been increasing interest. although high-performance battery continually is developing, Electric vehicles is not satisfied with the characteristics of the environment. In this study, By using the current fuel economy testing methods(5-cycle test), until the fully discharged battery electric vehicles is evaluated for a variety of environmental and operating conditions. As a result, Electric vehicles showed a low energy consumption efficiency in low temperature and rapid acceleration, deceleration in the operating environment compared with normal temperature.

  • KARI(Korea Aerospace Research Institute) is achieving the KSLV program according to National Space Technology Development Program. In this paper, the authors are intend to introduce the Integrated Power Plant(IPP) test facility which will be constructed for the variety of tests on KSLV program. IPP test facility refers to comprehensive testing equipment for liquid rocket launch vehicle. Using this facility, KARI can verify the adaptedness of parts and subsystems for launch vehicle and finally can qualify the system characteristics of launch vehicle doing kinds of test including hot firing test. IPP test facility will make it possible to simulate the vehicle launching circumstances and to predict the performance of launch vehicle during its flight test.

  • In this paper, we present the results of a preliminary study on the piezoelectric energy harvesting performance of a Zr-doped $PbMg_{1/3}Nb_{2/3}O_3-PbTiO_3$ (PMN-PZT) single crystal beam. A novel piezoelectric beam cantilever structure is used to demonstrate the feasibility of generating AC voltage during a state of vibration. The energy-harvesting capability of a PMN-PZT beam is calculated and tested. The frequency response of the cantilever device shows that the first mode resonance frequency of the excitation model exists in the neighborhood of several hundreds of hertz, which is similar to the calculated value. These tests show that several significantly open AC voltages and sub-mW power are achieved. To test the possibility of a small scale power source for a ubiquitous sensor network service, energy conversion and the testing of storage experiment are also carried out.

  • As the increasing of capacity and technology of power facilities, rotating machines are getting higher at capacity and voltage scale. Thus the monitoring and diagnosis of generators for fault detection has attracted intensive interest. In this paper, we developed fault diagnosis system for monitoring the fault operations in bad power systems. In order to verify the performance of this fault diagnosis system, we made the small scaled testing system which has the same winding structure of the real synchronous generator. The magnetic flux patterns in air-gap of a small-scale generator under various fault states as well as a normal state are tested by hall sensors and the fault detection system.

  • Many epidemiological studies investigate whether an association exists between a binary risk factor X and a binary response variable Y. They analyse whether an observed association between X and Y persists when the level of another factor Z that might influence the association is controlled. This involves testing conditional independence of X and Y controlling for Z. The Mantel-Haenszel test is most widely used to test conditional independence for sparse tables. But if the association between X and Y varies along the levels of Z, Mantel-Haenszel test has a low power problem. In this study, we propose an alternative test procedure which overcomes the low power problem in that case. We find out the null distribution of the alternative test statistic and compare its performance with the Mantel-Haenszel test by simulation.

  • Many researches about next generation vehicles are trending toward HEV which has better fuel economy than an internal-combustion engine. But existing HEV has some defects at specific running states(eg. highway running It is possible that dual-mode hybrid system overcomes that defects. Mode change parameter, ${\gamma}$ helps to analyse the mode changing of dual mode hybrid and is applied at a numerical analysis on testing the performance. There is an additional constraint when vehicles drive on engine mode. No power assistance of battery applies on engine mode. Because vehicles must be sustained by only engine power while vehicle drives on constant speed mode. At the conclusion of this paper, graphs show the ability of motors that satisfy the equilibrium of the lever system. Designers can roughly determine capacities of the motors, parameters of the lever system by this analysing method.

  • Testing of mixed-signal circuit has become a difficult task for test engineers and efficient test solution to these problems are needed. In this paper a new specification-based mixed-signal test method called TSS(Time Slot Specification) using high performance current sensors and a novel test point selection technique without heavy computational overhead are proposed. External output and power nodes are used for test points and accessed by the current sensors in the ATE.

  • We generalize the $Cram{\acute{e}}r$-von Mises Statistic to test multivariate normality using Roy's union-intersection principle. We show the limit distribution of the suggested statistic is representable as the integral of a suitable Gaussian process. We also consider the computational aspects of the proposed statistic. Power performance is assessed in a Monte Carlo study.

  • Investigations of biosimilarity between reference drugs and test drugs required statistical tests; in addition, statistical tests to evaluate biosimilarity have been recently proposed. Ordinal outcome data has been observed in research; however, appropriate statistical tests to deal with ordinal endpoints for biosimilar have not yet been proposed. This paper extends existing design for ordinal endpoints. Using measure of nominal-ordinal association and relative distances between drugs are defined so that testing procedures are developed. Through simulation studies, we investigate type I error rate and power to show the performance of our suggested method. Furthermore, a comparison between the statistical tests and other designs is proviede to show significance of ordinal endpoints.
