In the present study, the effects of initial texture on the twinning formation of AZ31 Mg rolled sheet was investigated. Uniaxial compression tests were performed on samples cut along the normal direction and rolling direction of rolled AZ31 Mg alloy sheet at various temperatures (RT, 200, 250, 300, 350, $400^{\circ}C$) with the 0.01/s strain rate. Pole figure of rolling planes showed that basal planes of most gain were located parallel to the rolling direction. After compression test, microstructures and stress-strain curves results indicated that active deformation twining occurred only at the specimen cut along the rolling direction. The slip-twin transition with the increase of temperature was also investigated.

Generally, the underwater flight vehicle (UFV) depth control system operates with the following problems: it is a multi-input multi-output (MIMO) system because the UFV contains both pitch and depth angle variables as well as multiple control planes, it requires robustness because of the possibility that it may encounter uncertainties such as parameter variations and disturbances, it requires a continuous control input because the system that has reduced power consumption and acoustic noise is more practical, and further, it has the speed dependency of controller parameters because the control forces of control planes depend on the operating speed. To solve these problems, an adaptive fuzzy sliding mode controller (AFSMC), which is based on the decomposition method using expert knowledge in the UFV depth control and utilizes a fuzzy basis function expansion (FBFE) and a proportional integral augmented sliding signal, is proposed. To verify the performance of the AFSMC, UFV depth control is performed. Simulation results show that the AFSMC solves all problems experienced in the UFV depth control system online.

The captive model test of submerged body using CPMC(Computerized Planar Motion Carriage) was carried out at the Ocean Basin of KORDI/MOERI. The target model is a submarine with general hullform. The forces and moments acting on the submerged body were measured by 6-axis waterproof gage. The oblique motion test and turning test were carried out in horizontal and vertical planes of the model. Maneuvering coefficients and derivatives were obtained from the test results. The stability indices in horizontal and vertical planes were obtained by using maneuvering derivatives. In this paper the introduction of test equipment and test results are presented.
According to the paraxial diffraction theory, diffractions of optical systems which have the same wavelength and numerical aperture are always the same, independent of lateral magnification. But the diffractions for optical systems with different magnifications are varied due to the non-paraxial diffraction effect on the imaging of high NA optics. In this study, the non-paraxial diffraction effect is interpreted as a phenomena caused by curved principal planes. Pupil functions and modulation transfer functions of aplanatic conic mirrors are examined as a function of lateral magnification.
The adsorption properties of benzene, toluene, p-xylene in MCM-41 with heterogeneous and cylindrical pore were studied using grand canonical ensemble Monte Carlo simulation. The simulated isotherms were compared with experimental ones, and the different adsorption behaviors in MCM-41 with pore diameters of 2.2 and 3.2 nm were investigated. The simulated adsorption amounts above the capillary-condensation pressure agreed with the experimental ones. The simulation results showed that most molecular planes were nearly parallel to the pore axis. This orientation was not affected by the molecular position in the pore. The molecular planes were nearly parallel to the pore surface for the adsorbate molecules close to the pore wall, and the molecules in the MCM-41 with the pore diameter of 3.2 nm were ordered along the pore axis.
In this paper, an effective image restoration using Genetic Algorithm(GA) in wavelet transform region is proposed. First, a wavelet transform is used for decomposition of a blurred image with white Gaussian noise as a preprocessing of the proposed method. The wavelet transform decomposes a degraded image into a wavelet subband coefficient planes. In this wavelet transformed subband coefficient planes, three highest subbands is composed entirely of noise elements on a degraded image. So, these subbands are removed. And remained subbands except for the lowest subband are individually applied to GA. For the performance evaluation, the proposed method is compared with a conventional single GA algorithm and a conventional hybrid method of wavelet transform and GA for a Lenna image and a boat image. As an experimental result, the proposed algorithm is prior to a conventional methods as each PSNR 3.4dB, 1.3dB.

Vibration modes obtained from a modal analysis can be better explained from a screw theoretical standpoint. A vibration mode can be geometrically interpreted as a pure rotation about the vibration center in a plane and as the twisting motion on a screw in a three dimensional space. This paper, presents the method to diagonalize a spatial stiffness matrix by use of a parallel axis congruence transformation. It also describes that the stiffness matrix diagonalized by a congruence transformation, can have the planes of symmetry depending on the location of the center of elasticity. For a plane of symmetry, any vibration mode can be expressed by the axis of vibration. Analytical solutions for the axis of vibration has been derived.

The orientation dependence of sputtering rate in the sendust polysrystalline targets was studied, It was fount from the present work that the erosion process is not uniform from one grain to another even within a target because of its polysrystalline nature showing many different orientation of grains. The grains oriented to promote efficient erosion were characterized by the close-packed planes which have large interplanar spacing and strong binding energy, The characteristic line patterns appeared on as-sputter target surface are discussed in terms of symmetry of crystllographic planes.
We present an approach to detect real plane for line base recognition and pose estimation Given 3D line segments, we set up reference plane for each line pair and measure the normal distance from the end point to the reference plane. And then, normal distances are measured between remains of line endpoints and reference plane to decide whether these lines are coplanar with respect to the reference plane. After we conduct this coplanarity test, we initiate visibility test using z-buffer value to prune out ambiguous planes from reference planes. We applied this algorithm to real images, and the results are found useful for evidence fusion and probabilistic verification to assist the line based recognition as well as 3D pose estimation.

The purpose of this study is to examine the corresponding mechanisms between residential spaces and living by analysing the physical spaces of Hanok residential buildings with the architectural financial program of the Gyeongju city, and their residents' needs for living, and to afford architectural planning data needed to develop new aspects of residence in a traditional cultural city. This study is based on the above analysis, an attempt was made in this study to suggest the architectural planning approach to the Hanok type houses by taking both cultural continuity and historical views into consideration, in order to restore the bedraggled old houses in the Gyeongju areas and create a new house type.
