  • The stability robustness problem of continuous linear systems with nominal and delayed time-varying perturbations is considered. In the previous results, the entire bound was derived only for the overall perturbations without separation of the perturbations. In this paper, the sufficient condition for stability of the system with two perturbations, which are nominal and delayed, is expressed as linear matrix inequalities(LMIs). The corresponding stability bounds fer those two perturbations are determined by LMI(Linear Matrix Inequality)-based generalized eigenvalue problem. Numerical examples are given to compare with the previous results and show the effectiveness of the proposed.

  • This work investigates the orbital perturbations of the cubesats that lie on LEO due to Earth albedo. The motivation for this paper originated in the investigation of the orbital perturbations for closed- Earth pico-satellites due to the sunlight reflected by the Earth (the albedo). Having assumed that the Sun lies on the equator, the albedo irradiance is calculated using a numerical model in which irradiance depends on the geographical latitude, longitude and altitude of the satellite. However, in the present work the longitude dependency is disregarded. Albedo force and acceleration components are formulated using a detailed model in a geocentric equatorial system in which the Earth is an oblate spheroid. Lagrange planetary equations in its Gaussian form are used to analyze the orbital changes when $e{\neq}0$ and $i{\neq}0$. Based on the Earth's reflectivity data measured by NASA Total Ozone Mapping Spectrometer (TOMS project), the orbital perturbations are calculated for some cubesats. The outcome of the numerical test shows that the albedo force has a significant contribution on the orbital perturbations of the pico-satellite which can affect the satellite life time.

  • Let $\mathcal{H}$ be a complex separable infinite dimensional Hilbert space. In this paper, a necessary and sufficient condition is given for an operator T on $\mathcal{H}$ to satisfy that $f(T)$ obeys generalized Weyl's theorem for each function $f$ analytic on some neighborhood of ${\sigma}(T)$. Also we investigate the stability of generalized Weyl's theorem under (small) compact perturbations.

  • It is generally known that many cases of pathological rough voice are characterized not by simple random perturbations but by quasi-periodic perturbations in the speech wave. However, there are few studies on the characteristics of perturbations in vocal fold vibrations associated with this type of voice. We have been conducting studies of pathological vocal fold vibration using a high-speed digital image recording system developed by our institute, Compared to the ordinary high-speed-motion picture system, the present system is compact and simple to operate and thus, it suited for pathological data collection. • In this paper we intended to discuss the following topics: (1) Notation, generalities, Markov processes. The close relationship between (generators of) Markov processes and the martingale problem is exhibited. A link between the Korovkin property and generators of Feller semigroups is established. (2) Feynman-Kac semigroups: 0-order regular perturbations, pinned Markov measures. A basic representation via distributions of Markov processes is depicted. (3) Dirichlet semigroups: 0-order singular perturbations, harmonic functions, multiplicative functionals. Here a representation theorem of solutions to the heat equation is depicted in terms of the distributions of the underlying Markov process and a suitable stopping time. (4) Sets of finite capacity, wave operators, and related results. In this section a number of results are presented concerning the completeness of scattering systems (and its spectral consequences). (5) Some (abstract) problems related to Neumann semigroups: 1st order perturbations. In this section some rather abstract problems are presented, which lie on the borderline between first order perturbations together with their boundary limits (Neumann type boundary conditions and) and reflected Markov processes.

  • Density and velocity perturbations in scales most relevant for the first galaxy formation are strongly affected by large-scale density perturbations, velocity-divergence perturbations and the baryon-cold dark matter (CDM) streaming velocities. Even at redshifts as high as z~200, this mode-mode coupling imprints a significant impact on the small-scale perturbations, at the wavenumber k >${\sim}100Mpc^{-1}$, as was calculated in our recent work. This implies that cosmological initial conditions based on the usual linear theory is no longer valid in these scales. We present a new cosmological initial condition generator, BCCOMICS, which generates initial conditions for the cold dark matter (CDM) and baryons in scales most relevant for the first galaxy formation. BCCOMICS is based on the linear perturbation theory including the mode-mode coupling terms, and generates cosmological initial conditions for the SPH-basded code GADGET and the AMR-based code ENZO. We also present our preliminary result on the cosmic variance of the first galaxy formation, studied by using BCCOMICS.

  • In this paper, we consider the problem of robust stability of discretd time-delay systems subjected to perturbations. Two classes of perturbations are treated. The first one is the nonlinear norm-bounded perturbation, and the second is the structured time-varying parametric perturbation. Based on the discrete-time Lyapunov stability theory, several new sufficient conditions for robust stability of the system are presented. From these conditions, we can estimate the maximum allowable bounds of the perturbations which guarantee the stability. Finally, numerical examples are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the results.

  • The stability robustness problem of linear discrete-time systems with time-varying perturbations is considered. By using Lyapunov direct method, the perturbation bounds for guaranteeing the quadratic stability of the uncertain systems are derived. In the previous results, the perturbation bounds are derived by the quadratic equation stemmed from Lyapunov method. In this paper, the bounds are obtained by a numerical optimization technique. Linear matrix inequalities are proposed to compute the perturbation bounds. It is demonstrated that the suggested bound is less conservative for the uncertain systems with unstructured perturbations and seems to be maximal in many examples. Furthermore, the suggested bound is shown to be maximal for the special classes of structured perturbations.
