A Study of the Factors that Impact Chinese Consumers' Purchasing Intent for High-Tech Products

  • Purpose - This objective of this study is to analyze the factors that impact Chinese consumers' purchasing intent for high-tech products. The study examines smart phones'features, Chinese personal consumer characteristics, and social influence. Research design, data, and methodology - The study employed survey data based on 200 questionnaires in principal Chinese cites between October and December 2011. SPSS 17.0 was employed to analyze the data used to test the hypotheses the analysis results confirmed some hypotheses proposed. Results - Hypothesis 1, Hypothesis 4, and Hypothesis 7 proposing that utilization, social image, and attractiveness, respectively, of smart phone elements influence the Chinese consumers' purchasing intent are supported. Conclusions - This study found the factors that impact purchasing intent for high-tech products among Chinese consumers, with some factors like social image, attractiveness, and utilization playing critical roles; however, hypotheses proposing factors such as ease of use, pleasantness, personal innovativeness, and compatibility were rejected. In future, more research focusing on the elements of smart phones is required.

  • 최근 국내 지상파 디지털 전환정책은 순조롭게 이루어지는 듯하다. 하지만 많은 사람들은 디지털 전환 정책에 대해서 많은 우려를 나타내고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 국내 지상파 방송 디지털 전환에 따라 시청자들이 디지털 서비스를 받아들이는데 영향을 미치는 요인에 대해서 알아보았다. 이를 위해서 기술수용모형에서 주로 언급하는 인지된 유용성, 인지된 용이성, 사회적 영향 등에 대한 평가를 통해서 디지털 전환 서비스의 이용의도를 분석하였다. 분석 결과 사회적 영향, 개인의 성향, 디지털 전환에 대한 인지가 이용의도에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

가정외보호아동의 사회적 자본과 문화적 자본이 학업성취에 미치는 영향 (The Impacts of Social and Cultural Capital on the Academic Achievement of Children in Out-of-Home Care)

  • Drawing on social and cultural capital theory, the study investigates the influences of social capital and cultural capital on the academic achievement of children in out-of-home care. We collected data from 494 children living in out-of-home services, including institutional care facilities, foster care homes, and group homes. To analyze the collected data, a multiple regression analysis method was used. In addition, the IV (instrumental-variables) estimation was utilized to rule out the possibility of reverse causality. The level of children's social capital was measured through children's relationships with parents and friends, parental monitoring, etc. The level of children's cultural capital was measured by their cultural activities, such as going to museums, and playing musical instruments. Children's personal characteristics and placement history in out-of-home services were used as control variables. We found that among personal characteristic variables, self-esteem, depression and anxiety, and delinquency affected the academic achievement of the children. Cultural capital, but not social capital, positively affected the level of academic achievement of the children. Based on the study results, implications for child welfare practice were discussed.

최종사용자의 인터넷과 소셜 네트워크 보안 행동에 대한 실증 연구 (An Empirical Study about Internet and Social Network Security Behavior of End User)

  • The purpose of this study was to find about personal information security of internet and social networks by focusing on end users. User competence and subjective criterion, which are the antecedents, are affecting security behaviors For these security behaviors, the study examined the relationship between security behavior intention on internet use and security behavior intention about social network that is actively achieved in many fields. Behaviors of internet and social network were classified into an action of executing security and an action of using a security technology. In addition, this study investigated a theory about motivational factors of personal intention on a certain behavior based on theory of reasoned action in order to achieve the purpose of this study. A survey was conducted on 224 general individual users through online and offline, and the collected data was analyzed with SPSS 12.0 and SmartPLS 2.0 to verify demographic characteristics of respondents, exploratory factor analysis, and suitability of a study model. Interesting results were shown that security behavior intention of social network is not significant in all security behavior execution, which is security performance behavior, and security technology use. Internet security behavior is significant to security technology use but it does not have an effect on behavior execution.

  • 소셜네트워크서비스(Social Network Service: SNS)는 디지털 융복합 환경에서 획기적으로 발전하고 있는 플랫폼이다. 그간 수행되어진 많은 SNS연구에서는 SNS가 자체적으로 지니고 있는 기술적인 특성과 외재적 동기인 SNS를 사용함으로써 사용자가 획득할 수 있는 효용적 특성에 관한 연구가 주로 이루어져 왔다. 반면에 본 연구는 기술적 또는 효용적 특성보다는 내재적 동기인 개인의 감성적, 사회적 욕구 측면에서 분석하고자 하였다. SNS의 이용은 인간의 개인적인 욕구를 만족시킨다는 관점에서, 자기노출이 SNS의 사용 의도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는 가에 대하여 실증적으로 증명하고자 하였다. 연구 결과에 의하면 자기노출은 SNS 사용 의도에 직접적으로 영향을 미치기 보다는 즐거움과 사회적 유대감이라는 매개변수를 통하여 사용 의도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 즉 사용자들은 SNS를 이용하면서 즐거움을 느끼며, 또한 자신이 SNS를 통한 사회적 활동에 참여함으로서 사회적 유대감을 느낀다는 것이다.

  • Social commerce is a kind of internet shopping mall in which consumers purchase the products with other consumers through mutual interactions including the development of SNS(social network service). Social commerce has expanded rapidly as a mainstream online shopping mall over the past five years driving consumers to purchase more fashion products providing the cheaper prices than open market internet shopping mall. The purpose of this study is to identify the important parameters of social commerce characteristics and consumer characteristics that affect repurchase intention and word-of-mouth intention. A 221 survey questionnaire was distributed to men in their 20's and 30's who live in Seoul metropolitan area. The data were analyzed utilizing Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, factor analysis, and regression analysis using the SPSS 18.0 program. The results revealed, first, that in terms of social commerce characteristics, three variables(website reputation, interactivity, and product scarcity) influenced repurchase intention. Among them, website reputation identified as the most important factor influencing repurchase intention and word-of-mouth intention. Second, with regard to consumer characteristics, interest and a tendency toward impulse buying affected the repurchase intention, and interest and internet shopping experience have influenced the word-of-mouth intention. Among three variables interest in social commerce identified as the key factor affecting both repurchase intention and word-of-mouth intention. The results of the study provide the practical implications and suggest the business strategies to enhance social commerce in the future by identifying the key social commerce characteristics and consumer characteristics that influence male consumers' buying behaviors.

SNS의 개인행위 특성요인이 사용의도에 미치는 영향 (The effect of personal characteristic factors on the usage of SNS)

  • SNS(Social Network Services) is being recognized as an important part in our society, individual lives and corporate business aspects, and the influence of SNS is growing explosively as expansion and supply of infrastructures that support mobile environments increase. Previous studies related to SNS were focused on user acceptance of new technology, based on Technology Acceptance Model(TAM). However, they had a limitation to focus on technology acceptance, without the consideration of personal and behavioral factors in SNS use. However, above all, successful SNS requires the understanding of users who are active on the network. Therefore, from the user's perspective, this study attempted a multi-dimensional approach by reflecting characteristics that come from SNS usage. This study considered user innovation, virtual skill, self-efficacy, social pressure and network effect as independent variables, and perceived ease-of-use, perceived usefulness and perceived value as mediating variables, and intention-to-use as dependent variable. The result showed that user innovation, self-efficacy, social pressure and network effect had a significant effect on the mediating variables. The practical contribution of this study is to suggest useful decision alternatives concerned to marketing strategy for acquiring and retaining lone-term customers related to SNS business.

아동기 환경 행태 특성 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Children's Environmental Behavior)

  • 아동 관련 시설의 계획에서 의사소통 능력이 부족한 아동들은 주사용자인 자신들의 의견을 시설계획에 적극적으로 반영하는데 현실적인 어려움을 갖는다. 따라서 이러한 문제에 대한 보완장치로 환경 행태 연구 분야에서의 연구 결과들을 아동들을 위한 시설계획에 적극적으로 반영하려는 시도가 요구된다. 이에 본 연구는 아동기의 환경행태 관련 연구 결과들을 분석 정리하여 아동들을 위한 시설계획에 참고할 수 있는 계획 자료를 축적하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 다양한 주제로 연구되어 온 아동기 관련 환경 행태 이론들을 개인적 차원과 사회적 차원의 두 가지 특성으로 나누어 고찰하였다. 개인적 차원의 특성에서는 지각과 환경인지 2가지 영역에서의 발달 양상을 고찰하였다. 그리고 사회적 차원의 특성에서는 프라이버시, 개인공간, 영역성, 밀도 등의 4가지 영역에서 각 특성의 기능 및 정의, 그리고 아동관련 시설 및 물리적 환경에서의 적용양상 등을 고찰하였다.

Factors Influencing the Intention to Continue Using the Metaverse: Focusing on the Influence of Social Norms

  • This study aims to examine factors influencing the intention to continue using the metaverse, focusing on the impact of social norms. Specifically, direct and indirect effects of technical characteristics (perceive quality, interactivity, perceived playfulness), user characteristics (self-efficacy, personal innovativeness), and social influence factors (descriptive norm, injunctive norm, subjective norm) on continuous use intention were examined. The role of perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness as a mediator was also examined. An online survey was conducted with 165 college students attending universities in two large cities in South Korea who had used the metaverse. As a result, perceived playfulness, descriptive norm, and perceived usefulness directly influenced continuous use intention. Perceived playfulness, interactivity, and subjective norm influenced continuous use intention indirectly through perceived usefulness. This study theoretically extends the Technology Acceptance Model by specifying social influence in metaverse contexts. Practical implications are provided in terms of marketing strategy for the metaverse industry to continue to grow and develop.

1인 사서교사의 인적 네트워크 특성에 관한 탐색적 연구 (An Exploratory Study on the Characteristics of a Solo Teacher Librarian's Personal Networks)

  • 인적 네트워크는 지식공유의 중요한 창구로서 암묵적 지식을 비롯한 다양한 정보문제에 주요한 해결 수단이 될 수 있다. 특히 조직에서 1인으로 구성된 학교도서관의 사서교사(또는 사서)의 경우, 업무를 위한 인적 네트워크는 조직 내부 구성원보다는 동일 직무를 담당하는 조직 외부인과의 관계가 효과적일 수 있다. 이에 본 연구는 1인 사서교사의 업무 관련 인적 네트워크 특성을 탐색하고 이러한 네트워크 특성과 직무 만족 및 역할 모호성 해소와의 관계성을 파악하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 서울시 지역 내 사서교사 네트워크 협의회 1곳을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 수집된 설문데이터는 소셜네트워크분석(SNA: social network analysis) 방법을 활용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과, 사서교사의 인적 네트워크는 네트워크 협의회 내 대표 교 이력의 사서교사를 중심으로 업무 도움 관계가 활발하였으며, 저 경력의 초임 교사에게는 업무 도움을 요청할 수 있는 대상이 적은 특징이 확인되었다. 또한 개인의 인적 네트워크 특성은 직무 만족과 역할 모호성 해소에 영향을 주지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 연구결과를 토대로 1인 사서교사의 업무 관련 정보문제 해결을 위한 사서교사 간 협력 및 네트워크의 활성화 방안의 필요성을 제안하였다.
