작업 성과지표의 통계적 분석 방법에 관한 연구 (Statistical Analysis of Work Performance Indicator)

  • 건설 프로젝트는 개별공종으로 구성되며 개별공종은 개별작업으로 이루어지므로 개별작업의 성과는 프로젝트 성과에 영향을 주는 최소단위이다. 그러므로 개별 작업에 대한 체계적인 성과측정 및 평가가 이루어져야 한다. 그러나 기존 성과측정은 기업 또는 프로젝트 단위에서 성과측정만 주로 이루어지고 있고 개별 작업을 측정하는 국내 ${\cdot}$ 외 공사관리체계에서는 지표에 대한 분석 및 활용이 미흡하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 개별 작업을 측정하기 위해 PPC(Percent Plan Complete)를 성과지표로 선정하였고 통계적 분석 방법을 통해 목표지향적인 작업관리와 지속적인 개선이 이루어 질 수 있도록 지표의 분석 방법을 제안하였다.

시스템 다이내믹스를 이용한 건설성과 인과지도 개발 (Development of a Construction Performance Causal Map Using System Dynamics)

  • Construction Performance measurement and management has been interested by construction practitioners. However, current construction project management practices are related to short-term improvement plans rather than long-term and systematic approaches based upon performance analysis. AR a result, there is a need for developing of a collaborative plan over project life cycle. Therefore, this paper reviews extensive literature and proposes the construction performance estimating model using a system dynamics. The paper proposes casual maps for planning, design, procurement, and construction phases. Each casual map includes all performance indicators and factors that impact on performance directly or indirectly. These casual maps that were developed by system thinking will enhance the understanding of the relationships among performances and factors. After further data gathering, these models can be used to estimate construction performance and eventually these will save project costs and shorten project schedule.

  • Human state in human-machine systems highly affects the overall system performance, and should be detected and monitored. Physiological cues are essential indicators of human state and useful for the purpose of monitoring. The study presented in this paper was focused on developing a bio-inspired sensing system, i.e., Nano-Skin, to non-intrusively measure physiological cues on human-machine contact surfaces to detect human state. The paper is presented in three parts. The first part is to analyze the relationship between human state and physiological cues, and to introduce the conceptual design of Nano-Skin. Generally, heart rate, skin conductance, skin temperature, operating force, blood alcohol concentration, sweat rate, and electromyography are closely related with human state. They can be measured through human-machine contact surfaces using Nano-Skin. The second part is to discuss the technologies for skin temperature measurement. The third part is to introduce the design and manufacture of the Nano-Skin for skin temperature measurement. Experiments were performed to verify the performance of the Nano-Skin in temperature measurement. Overall, the study concludes that Nano-Skin is a promising product for measuring physiological cues on human-machine contact surfaces to detect human state.

군용 열영상장비 최소분해가능온도차의 정량적 측정 방법 및 탐지거리 예측에 관한 연구 (A Study on the quantitative measurement methods of MRTD and prediction of detection distance for Infrared surveillance equipments in military)

  • 대한민국 군의 K 계열 전차에 장착되어 있는 열영상장비의 목적은 시계가 제한된 환경에서 외부의 적외선 영역의 정보를 인간이 인지할 수 있는 시각 정보로 변환하는 것이다. 열영상장비의 시계, 배율, 분해능, 변조전달함수, 잡음등가온도차, 최소분해가능온도차 등의 지표 중에서 최소 분해 가능 온도차(MRTD)는 공간주파수와 온도분해능을 복합적으로 표현할 수 있기 때문에, 열영상장비의 성능 표현에 있어 가장 중요한 파라메터이다. 그러나 NATO의 MRTD 표준 측정 방법은 많은 주관적인 요소를 포함하고 있다. 즉, 측정자의 정신 상태, 시력 등의 차이와 측정환경에 따라 측정 결과의 오차가 발생하므로 MRTD의 측정결과는 안정적이지 못하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 정성적인 MRTD 측정 방법을 gary scale을 바탕으로 이미지 연산을 통한 정량적인 지표로 변환하였다. 흑상과 백상의 Gray scale 차이의 평균을 최소분해가능온도로 변환하여, 국방규격서에서 요구하는 성능요구조건의 충족여부를 판단할 수 있다. 또한 gray scale은 MRTD의 탐지/인지/식별의 판별기준으로 활용할 수 있다. 전차에 열영상장비가 탑재되어 작전을 수행할 때의 탐지 가능 거리를 안개, 폭우, 맑은 날씨 등의 다양한 환경조건에 따라 분석하였다.

  • 지식경영은 IMF 이후 패러다임의 전환을 필요로 하는 건설업계에 새로운 경영전략으로 대두되면서 많은 업체들이 도입 빛 준비중에 있다. 그러나 현재 건설업계의 지식경영 추진방향은 지식의 획득/공유에 중점을 두고 있어, 지식경영의 실질 목적인 가치창출을 통한 이윤증대에는 기여를 못하고 있다. 이는 지식경영 도입 및 수행 시 명확한 전략 프로세스와 이를 구현하는 성과측정 방범의 미비에 따른 것이다. 본 연구는 국내 건설기업의 지식경영 사례 분석을 통하여 성과폭정 부재라는 문제점을 인식하고, 대안으로서 BSC 방법론을 선정했다. 사례적용을 통해 지식지도를 도출하여 건설산업의 핵심업무지식을 분류, 파악한 후 핵심 성과지표를 개발, 최종적으로 건설산업 특성을 반영한 지식 경영의 전략적 성과측정 모델 개발을 목표로 한다.

철도건설에서 BSC의 KPI도출과 BPM을 위한 프로세스 KPI도출 (Deductions of KPIs for BSC and Process KPIs for BPM in Railway Construction)

  • Recently, Korean government demands that public sectors like railway construction should improve their management efficiency. It is necessary for railway construction supported by government budget to aim at the companywide management efficiency. The Balanced Scorecard (BSC) is known as integrated performance management framework that helps a company to translate strategic objective info relevant performance within an organization. This paper focuses on relationship between KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) used to measure the performance of railway construction industry and process KPT for BPM (Business Process Management). Also, the vision and strategies of the railway construction is introduced, and the CSFs (Critical Success Factors) and the KPI based on BSC is developed. Finally, this paper explores that there is a possibility to fulfill the strategic objectives of railway construction industry through the connectivity between KPI based on BSC and process KPI based on BPM. We explain the detailed procedures with an example of railway construction industry.

  • In recent years, academic scholars and practitioners have given increasing attention to the importance of strategic performance measurement systems including both financial and non-financial performance metrics. The Balanced Scorecard (BSC) is known as integrated performance management framework that helps an enterprise to translate strategic objectives into relevant performance within an organization. While the current literatures and management articles offer BSC design and implementation. there are few reports of detailed validation of using the rationalized sets of CSF (Critical Success Factors) and KPI (Key Performance Indicators) for the Korean construction industry. This paper first propose the perceived sets of CSF/KPI using current literatures and validate with a major construction company's executives and senior managers in Korea. The paper then examines whether the perceived sets of CSF/KPI have co-relationships with the firm performances. The results of the research contribute in heightening of competitiveness of the Korean construction companies in strategic and performance management.

  • 기업이 지속적으로 성장하기 위해서는 실현가능한 목표를 설정하고 그 목표를 달성하였는지 파악하여 끊임없이 목표를 관리하여야 한다. 나아가 개선해야 할 부분을 보완하여 목표를 재설정하고 그에 맞도록 성과를 관리하여야 한다. 최근 건설 분야에서도 조직, 프로젝트 및 기업의 성과에 대해서 많은 논의가 이루어지고 있다. 특히 건설사업관리는 건설공사의 사업수행 단계는 물론 시설물 생애주기에 걸쳐 효율적이고 전문적인 관리활동이 요구된다. 건설사업관리의 성과측정에 대해 국내의 많은 연구 대부분은 성과측정 모델의 기본적인 개념을 정립하는 수준에 머물러 있다. 또한, 건설현장 및 건설사업관리의 특성이 제대로 반영되지 못하여 성과관리시스템을 현장 실무에 적용하지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 균형성과표를 활용한 건설사업관리의 성과영역 및 핵심성과지표를 도출하여 객관적인 성과측정을 위한 기초자료를 제시하고자 한다.

Key Performance Indicators for Project Management Performance of Large Contractors in Developing Countries: A Case Study in Vietnam

  • In order to deal with severe competition in the construction market of developing countries, large contractors must continually improve their own performance and operation. Performance measurement is the heart of ceaseless improvement in organizations. Key performance indicators (KPIs) play a key role in measuring project management performance (PMP) of large contractors in developing countries. The main objective of this paper is to identify KPIs, which can be used to measure PMP of contractors, and then analyze the underlying relationships of these KPIs in order to gain insight into PMP of large construction firms in Vietnam construction industry (VCI). Literature reviews and the pilot survey provided 30 KPIs. Fourteen KPIs, which have the mean values higher than 3.0, were considered as important KPIs through a questionnaire survey of 32 professionals. Factor analysis of these KPIs was employed to categorize them. The results of the survey revealed that top six KPIs are construction time and cost, owner satisfaction on services and products, and quality management and project team performance. Factor analysis uncovered that 14 top-ranked KPIs can be grouped under six categories, namely: (1) construction input management, (2) owner satisfaction, (3) cost and quality, (4) manpower management, (5) subcontractor performance and (6) equipment management. The findings of this research can be used as a guideline to measure PMP of contractors in Vietnam as well as in other developing countries. Since contractors from a country to the other country may have the same manner to manage construction projects, the results of this study may be useful not only to practitioners and researchers in Vietnam but also to participants in other developing countries.

지식경영의 동태적 가치사슬 모형 구축 (Dynamic Value Chain Modeling of Knowledge Management)

  • This study suggests the dynamic value chain model, that will be able to not only show changing processes to organization's significant capital by integrating an individual, implicit, and explicit knowledge which affect organizational decision making, but also distinguish the key driver for raising organizational competitive power because it makes possible to analyze sensitivity of performance along with decision making alternatives and policy changes from dynamic view by connecting knowledge management capability, knowledge management activity, and relations with organizational performance with specific strategic map. Recently, a lot of organizations show interest in measuring and evaluating their performance synthetically. In organizations taking knowledge management, they introduce effective value chain model like a dynamic balanced scorecard (DBSC), and therefore they can reflect their knowledge management condition as well as show their changes by checking performance of established vision and strategy periodically. Furthermore, they can ask for their inner members' understanding and participation by communicating with and inspiring their members with awareness that members are one of their group, present a base of benchmarking, and offer significant information for later decision making. The BSC has been a successful framework for measuring an organization's performance in various perspectives through translating an organization's vision and strategy into an interrelated set of key performance indicators and specific actions. The BSC, while having significant strengths over traditional performance measurement methods, however, has its own limitations, due to its static nature, such as overlooking two-way causation between performance indicators and neglecting the impact of delayed feedback flowing from the adoption of new strategies or policy changes. To overcome these limitations, this study employs SD, a methodology for understanding complex systems where dynamic feedback among the interrelated system components significantly impact on the system outcomes. The SD simulation model in the form of DBSC would serve as a useful strategic teaming tool for facilitating an organization's communication process through various scenario analyses as well as predicting the dynamic behavior pattern of their key performance measures over a future time frame. For the demonstration purpose, this study applied the DBSC model to Prototype of Korea manufacturing and service firm.
