  • The purpose of this study is to develop and prove service quality measurement model and indicators which are able to measure objectively service quality of digital libraries in Korea. Literature review and Delphi survey are used to investigate service quality dimensions. User perceived service quality performance was measured to validate DL-SQI model with three digital libraries. Finally DL-SQI(Digital Library-Service Quality Index) model was developed which is composed of four primary dimensions. The survey results reveal that reliability coefficient is 0.8 which means high reliability of survey and it suggests that DL-SQI model based on the above dimensions is proved through confirmatory factor analysis.

  • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are the criteria of measuring project performance in order to attain construction excellence. Previous researchers have examined the abstract concept of success for general new construction and identified its relationship with the factors of success. In fact, most buildings exist to satisfy the needs of people. With the passing of time and change in technology, buildings have to be maintained and renovated in order to continue functioning properly for the benefits of users. Therefore, criteria and factors of success have increasingly attracted the attention of both researchers and practitioners, especially in cities where buildings become ageing. However, the topic of project success for maintenance projects is less discussed in previous research, and project participants, including maintenance surveyors should be able to identify the success measurement and its associated factors for performance improvement. This study fills the research gap by investigating the criteria and factors of success for maintenance projects. It first provides a summary of the literature review on the criteria and factors of success for construction projects. An empirical study has also been carried out with ten practitioners in Hong Kong to further identify the criteria and factors critical for the success of maintenance projects in practice. While most criteria and factors of success for new construction projects are also applicable to maintenance projects, participants in maintenance projects believe that effective communication is in particular important to provide quality service to the end-users.

  • This paper suggests a normative performance measurement model for B2B e-marketplace. The model is for the neutral and systematic sourcing B2B e-marketplace. It is based on BSC that is very powerful and sound tool among all the available performance measurement systems. In addition, we used AHP to make the model more structured and to draw weights of performance measures from experts. We derived main features and factors affecting performance of e-business companies and especially of B2B e-marketplaces based on literature. In order to make the model usefulness, we co-worked with some experts who are engaged in real Korean B2B e-marketplaces. They included venture capitalists, top managers of B2B e-marketplaces, and consultants. By their assistances, we could find important evaluating factors and define the hierarchical structure. After defining the hierarchical structure, the expert group decided weights of performance indicators through the designed questionnaires. The weight for each measure was calculated using geometric mean of the questionnaire response. We made the case studies of two real Korean B2B e-marketplaces to apply the suggested model with some adjustments. The results of the case studies were so satisfactory that the suggested performance measurement model for B2B e-marketplace is useful and applicable to the real world.

  • The quality of high performance concrete largely depends on water cement ratio, porosity, material composition and mix methods. The uniformity of color, texture and compressive strengths are quality indicators commonly used to assess the overall characteristics of concrete mixes. The homogeneity and share of coarse aggregates play a key role in concrete quality and must be analyzed in a microscopic point of view. This research studies the quality of high performance concrete by taking drilled cores in both horizontal and vertical directions from a 1.0 $m^3$ specimen. The coarse aggregate, expressed in digitized $100{\times}116$ dpi resolution images are processed based on brightness in colors through commercial software converted into text files. With the image converting to text format, the share of coarse aggregate is quantified leading to a satisfactory assessment of homogeneity - a quality index of high performance concrete. The compressive strengths of concrete and the shares of coarse aggregate of the samples are also compared in this research study to illustrate its correlation in concrete quality. It is concluded that a higher homogeneity of aggregate exists in the vertical plane than that of the horizontal planes of the high performance concrete. In addition, the concrete specimen showing denser particle packing has relatively higher compressive strengths. The research methodology provides an easy-to-use, direct measurement of high performance concrete when conducting quality assessment in the construction site.

  • The research has been conducted to explore the combination of three intangible resources, including social capital, entrepreneurship, and resilience capability on the performance of State Capital Enterprises (SCEs) in Vietnam. Both qualitative and quantitative approaches are applied in the study. An in-depth interview of ten CEOs at SCEs in Vietnam was made to explore new indicators for the contextual latent variables in the research models. By employing the data from the authors' survey of 568 SCEs in Vietnam in 2019, using Cronbach's alpha, confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and path analysis (SEM), the mechanism that social capital impacts on SCE performance has been analyzed. In addition to the direct role, social capital indirectly affects corporate performance through entrepreneurship and resilience capability. It was found that social capital has a larger impact on entrepreneurship than resilience capacity. However, the contribution of resilience capacity to the firm performance is much more than the entrepreneurship's in Vietnamese context. This study enriches the theory by proposing a measurement scale of the contextual latent variables as a result of in-depth interviews with experts using a qualitative analysis technique. In addition, the path analysis findings suggest practical implications for managers to effectively use their resources in SCEs.

  • The primary purpose of this study was to develop performance evaluation indices for measuring the results of the work and performance of the career exploration support centers. For the study, First, to describe the current status of the management system across the 228 centers, examine the staff's perceptions of the current evaluation method and system of each center, and analyze the needs of measuring indices of each center for its performance evaluation, a cross-sectional survey method was employed. Second, relevant literature was reviewed. Next, measurement indices were developed employing the Delphi method with a panel of 15 experts in developing instruments of accomplishment. Based upon the conclusion of this study, The measurement indices developed in this study focuses on the core measurement indices. These indices include a checkbox of necessary and unnecessary in each item so that each local department of education or each center can select indicating items (indices) according to its own needs. The newly developed measurement indices consists of four domains to assess: (1) Institutional competencies-goals, budget, system, and resources, (2) Practitional competences-qualities of programs, administration of experiential career program providers, promotion of centers and programs, management of human resources such as instructors or guides, and establishment of community-center cooperative networking system, (3) Accomplishments-finding new experiential career program providers, the number of participants such as schools and students, reciprocal system, and the degree of participants' satisfaction with the center and programs, and (4) specialized indicators-extra scores for center-based specialized programs.
