One of the activities that are almost used by instructors to assess the undergraduate learners (students) performances in the teaching and learning system is performing researches. It's most probably that learners prepare a presentation for the research, through which they conduct their ideas to the audiences (the instructor and their colleagues). Recently, a phenomenon was monitored regarding the research preparation process practiced by the learners, that the majority go directly to the websites, in which they could easily find tons of attractive and ready-made information that fill the gaps of their heavy homework gained from several courses. It's a convenient activity for learners to go through this easy path to fulfil their duties, but the issue is that the output of such path is so weak. The gained information in this case is so shallow, loose, and could easily been evaporated after a while. There is a need to examine the impact of a missing skill in the current learners' generation: the reading practice. It's noticed that library visits to read books were strongly decreased compared with what was happening in the older generations, where the piece of information was hard to collect, but in the same time, is hard to be forgotten. As a part of the teaching and learning process, and through a college of Engineering, this study will introduce results of the comparison between the outputs of the two methods of collecting information: through the web, and through the traditional book reading. This is to highlight the importance of reading through an experiment applied on one section of students who were asked to prepare a research from a certain chapter of their textbook, and compare that with a prior research they had prepared from the websites. The results were impressive and reflected the importance of the missed reading activity.

Purpose: There has been no attempt to establish an objective implant surgical evaluation protocol to assess residents' surgical competence and improve their surgical outcomes. The present study presents a newly developed assessment and rating system and simulation model that can assist the teaching staffs to evaluate the surgical events and surgical skills of residents objectively. Methods: Articles published in peer-reviewed English journals were selected using several scientific databases and subsequently reviewed regarding surgical competence and assessment tools. Particularly, medical journals reporting rating and evaluation protocols for various types of medical surgeries were thoroughly analyzed. Based on these studies, an implant surgical technique assessment and rating system (iSTAR) has been developed. Also, a specialized dental typodont was developed for the valid and reliable assessment of surgery. Results: The iSTAR consists of two parts including surgical information and task-specific checklists. Specialized simulation model was subsequently produced and can be used in combination with iSTAR. Conclusions: The assessment and rating system provided may serve as a reference guide for teaching staffs to evaluate the residents' implant surgical techniques.

본 연구의 목적은 신체적 유능감과 체육수업 만족도의 관계를 규명하는데 있다. 이를 위해 중 고교학생을 대상으로 편의추출방법을 사용하여 556부의 설문지를 최종 분석에 사용하였다. 분석을 위해 통계프로그램은 PASW ver. 18.0 프로그램을 이용하여 각 요인에 대한 기술통계를 제시하였으며, 요인추출 및 문항의 내적 일관성 확인을 위해 탐색적 요인분석과 신뢰도분석을 실시하였다. 또한, 신체적 유능감과 수업만족도와의 관계에 대한 규명을 위해 다중회귀분석을 실시하였으며, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 신체적 유능감과 교수행동의 관계에 있어 피드백 요인이 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 신체적 유능감과 체육성적의 관계에 있어 승리, 동료비교 요인 등이 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 신체적 유능감과 체육환경의 관계에 있어 피드백, 대리경험 요인 등이 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 신체적 유능감과 운동능력의 관계에 있어 피드백 요인이 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다.

수학교사 교육에서는 수학교육의 이론 지도 못지않게 교사의 수업 역량 개발을 위한 교육도 충실하게 이루어져야 한다. 본 연구는 프로이덴탈(Freudenthal), 폴리아(Polya)등 현대 수학교육자들이 주목한 수학 학습 지도의 전형으로서 오늘날 수학 교육에 적지 않은 시사점을 주고 있는 소크라테스(Socrates)의 '산파법'을 주제로 하여 사범대학의 예비교사 교육 과정에서 수학 모의수업 실행을 지도한 것이다. 수학을 지도하는 예비교사들의 수업 실기 능력과 수업 연구 능력을 더욱 강화하기 위해 현직교사들의 활동 자료를 연계한 교육을 실시하였다. 현직교사들의 사고실험 예시를 통해, 예비교사들이 수학-학습 지도에 관한 자신들의 제한된 지식과 경험을 확장할 수 있도록 안내하였다. 좋은 수학 수업을 위한 교사 교육, 반성적 사고를 돕는 교사 교육, 교사 공동체 연구를 보조하는 교사 교육을 꾀한 연구과정에서 얻은 결과를 분석하여 앞으로 예비교사 교육에서 더욱 관심을 두고 지도해야 할 사항에 대해 살펴보았다.

이 연구는 수업경연대회에 심사자로 참여한 교수 심사자와 대학생 심사자들 간의 평가 결과의 차이와 상관을 검증하였다. 연구대상자는 한 사범대학의 수업경연대회에서 수업시연을 심사한 6명의 교수와 9명의 사범대 학생이었다. 이들은 각 과의 대표로 출전한 학생 11명의 수업시연을 10개 문항으로 구성된 심사평가지에 5단계 척도에 따라 응답하였고, 이 자료를 바탕으로 독립표본 t-검증, Pearson의 상관계수를 구하였다. 그 결과, 교수와 학생 심사자들 간의 평가 점수의 평균에는 통계적으로 의미 있는 차이가 없었다. 교수와 학생 심사자의 평가결과의 상관은 .78로 통계적으로 의미가 있었을 뿐 아니라, 상당히 높았다. 이 결과는 대학생의 수업평가 능력을 지지하며, 수업연습에 동료학생들을 의미 있는 평가자로 활용할 수 있음을 시사한다. 이런 연구는 한 학기라는 오랜 기간 동안의 수업으로 인한 과정변인의 중재를 통제하고, 수업시연만을 대상으로 통제된 환경에서 연구하였다는 점에서 기존연구와 구별되는 의미가 있다. 연구대상자가 사범대에 국한되었다는 것은 제한점이 될 수 있으므로, 일반화를 위해서는 일반대학의 교수와 대학생 연구도 추가할 필요가 있다.

The purpose of this study is to suggest effective online pedagogical strategies for a fashion design CAD course to enhance student learning and satisfaction. The study investigated student experience of online learning and compared online learning with a face-to-face learning experience. Student concentration, participation, perceptions of effectiveness of teaching, utilization of learning materials, and satisfaction were analyzed using a 5-point Likert scale. Advantages and disadvantages of online learning as well as advantages of face-to-face learning were also analyzed both quantitatively and qualitatively. Student concentration, participation, and perception of effectiveness of teaching were greater for face-to-face learning with significantly higher concentration on individual practice. Students utilized video recording of synchronous online lectures more actively than PDF lecture notes. The advantages of face-to-face learning were plentiful communication and feedback and easy questioning process as well as high levels of understanding and concentration. Meanwhile, major disadvantages of online learning were the speed of the lecture, lower levels of understanding and concentration, limited peer interaction, and technical problems. Major advantages of online learning were flexibility and convenience, repetitive learning through videos, and instant communication and feedback. Students preferred a blended learning approach for the fashion design CAD course. For effective online learning, it is suggested that instructors frequently question and check student practice through screen share in a private online meeting room and engage activities that are demanding of student interaction. The video recording of synchronous online lectures is also suggested as a supplemental learning material for repetitive learning.

Free-talking in Korea has recently been emphasized as a way of improving students' speaking ability outside of the classroom. The purpose of this study is to examine perceptions of free-talking, to understand what type of roles were played by or allotted between Korean students and international professors (IPs) and to look for effective speaking strategies for utilizing free-talking. Participants of this study were 68 university students and 23 IPs. The data collected through a survey type of questionnaire were analyzed by this researcher and the main findings indicate that students and IPs have somewhat different viewpoints about their concepts of free-talking. Students expressed varying viewpoints depending on their experience and class (year). In terms of the benefits, usefulness, and satisfaction of free-talking, students and IPs seem to be in more agreement with each other although the two groups have conflicting perceptions in the particular operation of free-talking, especially in terms of preparation and feedback. Students stated that they feel anxious, nervous, and that they struggle with peer pressure while free-talking. However, they feel that through free-talking they build up confidence and increase their speaking ability. Regarding roles, most professors play a helpful role as a guide or facilitator while students want professors to provide more suitable materials and to tutor them by means of appropriate feedback and strategies as well-prepared teachers like a prompter, participant or tutor in the timely manner. Finally, this paper proffers a few practical suggestions for activating free-talking and a discussion of the pedagogical implications.

Purpose: This study aimed to describe nurses' experience in transition from new graduate nurses to professional clinical nursees in a hospital. Methods: Ten new clinical nurses working in a hospital participated in this study. Data collected through in-depth interviews were analyzed using phenomenology. Results: The analysis yielded five core category themes from new nurses for becoming a professional nurse: (a) beginning of hardship journey (b) feeling of inability in workplace (c) struggling hard to develop skills (d) enduring hardships by soothing oneself and peer support (e) beginning of an exciting journey. Conclusion: Over time, new nurses face many difficulties in transition to a professional status. To enhance the role development of new clinical nurses in hospital settings, nursing schools and clinical fields must teach and prepare them. Nursing schools should teach a strong theoretical base as well as nursing skills. In addition, in the clinical nursing department, education, teaching the integrated systems, staff development, support, evaluation, and feedback are needed for new nurses's development.

프로그래밍 학습은 컴퓨터 과학에 있어 매우 중요한 과목이지만, 대부분의 학생들은 프로그래밍 배우는 것을 어려워하고 있다. 프로그래밍 교육에 대한 새로운 교수방법이나 기술적 관점의 연구가 필요한 시점이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 Pair Programming을 통해 프로그래밍 교육의 가능성을 살펴보고, 교육적 효과를 높이기 위한 Pair Programming을 제안하였다. 제안된 교수 학습 전략을 실험한 결과, 학업성취도와 학습전략에 있어 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 학습전략에 있어서는 비판적 사고, 메타인지, 노력조절, 동료학습 영역들이 긍정적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다.

This study explored the meaning of beginning teachers' first-year experience in an eco child educare center. Participants were 4 teachers at survival stages of teacher development; they had had the same preservice experience. Data were collected by semi-structured in-depth interviews, participant observation, researcher's field notes, and document collection. Five themes emerged as first year teachers' struggles and strategies for survival : (1) caring for children's daily lives vs. responsibility for formal education, (2) planned lessons vs. ease in teaching, (3) agreement or disagreement on philosophy of running the education program, (4) paradox of teacher empowerment, (5) overcoming struggle through voluntary peer supervision. These results indicated that beginning teacher' experiences at the survival stage varied by contextual and personal factors.
