The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of different saddle heights on lower-limb joint angle and muscle activity. Six elite cyclists(age: $32.2{\pm}5.2years$, height: $171.0{\pm}3.5cm$, weight: $79.7{\pm}5.6kg$, cycle career: $13{\pm}6.2years$) participated in three min. submaximal(90 rpm) pedaling tests with the same load and cadence based on saddle heights where subject's saddle height was determined by his knee flexion angle when the pedal crank was at the 6 o'clock position. Joint angles(hip, knee, ankle joints) and the activity of lower limb muscles(biceps femoris(BF), vastus lateralis(VL), tibialis anterior(TA) and gastrocnemius medial(GM)) were compared by measuring 3D motion and electromyography(EMG) data. Results showed that there were significant differences in minimum hip & knee joint angle and range of motion of hip and knee joint between saddle heights. Onset timing and integrated EMG of only BF among 4 muscles were significantly different between saddle heights. Especially there was a negative relationship between minimum hip joint angle and onset timing of BF in most subject, which means that onset timing of BF became fast as the degree of bending of the hip joint became larger by saddle height. Optimal pedaling will be possible through increased amount of muscle activation due to the appropriate burst onset timing by proper pedaling posture with adjusted saddle height.

In this study, we proposed the most efficient driving posture based on the analysis of quantitative muscular strength and fatigue degree according to posture. Since driving include complicated actions required by a variety of ability and cause by extremes concentration or strain, drivers tend to feel tired easily. However, drivers can't recognize the fatigue degree by themselves. Moreover, the method for measuring the quantitative fatigue degree exactly is quite difficult to be secured. 9 professional bus drivers were participated. We analyzed the quantitative legs' muscular strength when operating each pedal. And then we also analyzed the muscular strength and muscular fatigue degree according to driving pattern during bus driving. Therefore, we suggested the most efficient driving posture.
In this paper, we present our analysis of tribological failure examples for an anti-lock brake system(ABS) in a car. The study range of this paper is to improve the quality of ABS system by analyzing with sensor, computer, actuator and oil lines. In the first example, the brake leak from hydraulic supply line in a caliper on the rear left side of the ABS hydraulic modulator. This produces the sponge phenomenon, where the car does not brake even when the driver operates the brake pedal. The hydraulic unit operating ABS is actuator that play role regulating drive condition according with the oil pressure supplied with wheel of a car. In the second example, the service man does not completely tighten the fixed bolt after repairing the car. This causes the ABS warning lamp to light up as the ABS wheel speed sensor cannot detect whether the ABS has been activated. In the third example, the ABS electronic control unit is separated from the soldered part of the inner circuit board. Consequently, the ABS fails in control because the ABS motor pump receives no-signal for the hydraulic unit. The wheel speed sensor has to large durability because of giving signal of acting condition to computer by detected the acceleration and deceleration of wheel of a car. In the fourth example, the ABS warning lamp lights up of when cracks propagate in the circuit board soldering part. The circuit of this computer is very important part for input and output the operating signal of system. Such failures can aggravate the durability of the ABS. Thus, the ABS needs to be optimized to eliminate malfunction phenomenon.
The present study was conducted to find out effect of PFOS on survival, activity, growth and organ structure of the melania snail, Semisulcospira gottschei. Experimental groups were composed of one control condition and four PFOS exposure condition (0.1, 0.5, 1.0 and 5.0 mg/L). After 16 week exposure, survival rate and activity were not significantly influenced at the two lower exposure groups, 0.1 and 0.5 mg/L, but they were significantly reduced in 1.0 and 5.0 mg/L groups. Total weight and meat weight rate (MWR) were reduced in PFOS exposure group in comparison to control group. Also, histological degenerations such as acidification of mucous, necrosis and split of muscular fiber bundle, atrophy of anterior pedal gland were recognized in the foot. Hepatopancreas showed the atrophy and degeneration of the digestive cell, vacuolation of digestive gland and closure of lumen in digestive gland.

In this study, we developed a PC - based motorcycle simulator based on the development technology of the virtual patrol motorcycle training system. In order to get the impression that the motorcycle simulator is operating in a realistic way, it is important to have a reliable signal transmission and operation feeling between the driver and the simulator. In order to achieve this, we developed a system that can apply the sub-systems of the actual vehicle to the motorcycle simulator in order to generate the same operation feeling as the actual vehicle. Based on these results, We have developed a method for generating a feedback queue. Vehicle dynamics simulates real-time vehicle motion by receiving input from a steering wheel, accelerating / decelerating pedal, etc. operated by a driver on a vehicle simulator and transmitting the result to a visual and acoustic system, It is the central element of the simulator to generate. I want to summarize the main requirements of simulation dynamics.

Currents which are generated at both ends of drive motor by operating brake pedal when subway train is driving, will generate the reviltalization actual effect if they are not used immediately. So there exist rolling stock established Dynamic braking annex for the purpose of stable brake performance in case there are no retrogress train around or no stable wiring voltage. Therefore 55% of entered energy are consumed in subway train. 45% are used in down gradient section or for regeneration energy and among them 25% are used for another train's retrogression through the wiring. So to reduce reviltalization method keeping the existing system, substation's service voltage should be declined about 5%. And then it will ease off excessive wiring voltage rise. And there need energy reduction by flexible service voltage adjustment and study for energy consumption efficiency in the subway.
Brake judder{or cold judder) caused by the disc thickness variation(DTV) is investigated experimentally, This cold judder is often perceived by steering wheel vibration, brake pedal pulsation, and vehicle body vibration. In this paper, how the DTV profile affects the vibration characteristics of vehicle body is shown by order tracking analysis(OTA) and operational vibration analysis(OVA) The tri-axial vibrations are measured at the knuckle, lower rm, and the body side of the lower arm. Also, measured are the wheel speed and the detail DTV profile. The interpretations of OTA results in three directions of tested vehicle indicate the relative importance in the contribution of the run-out and the DTV to the judder vibration. Also, the OVA results show the prominent vibration amplitude of the lower arm in the direction of the vehicle movement. in which the second order of wheel speed is dominant. These results could be used to diagnose the judder problem and to establish the correction methods.

To improve cycling performance, the power output of the rider and the sources of resistance (e.g., air resistance, frame stiffness, and cycle mass) must be considered. From a mechanical viewpoint, we consider how the bike frame performance can be increased while decreasing the resistance. First, to improve the competitive ability of a racing track cycle, we should consider the stiffness of the bike frame including the pedal loading and aerodynamic effects when riding. Therefore, we obtained the cross-sectional area of each part of the bike frame and then aimed to minimize the drag force through an aerodynamic parametric study. In addition, the frame should remain safe under the loading applied by the rider. Under the guidelines of the UCI (union Cycliste Internationale) regulations, the bike frame has been evaluated under the proposed loading condition, and we developed a racing track cycle for elite cyclists.

A new cycle ergometer using a Magneto-Rheological (MR) rotary brake system has been developed for rehabilitation of hemiplegia patients to reduce uneven pedaling characteristics. For this purpose, a control method to adjust the resistance of the MR rotary brake in real time based on the magnitude of the muscular force exerted by the subject has been devised so that the mechanical resistance to the pedaling can be minimized when the affected leg was engaged for pedaling. A series of experiments were carried out with and without the engagement of this real-time control mode of MR rotary brake at different pedaling rate to find out the effect of the real-time control mode. The characteristics of the pedaling for these specific conditions were analyzed based on the variations in angular velocities of the pedal unit. The results showed that the variations in the angular velocities were decreased by 42.9% with the control mode. The asymmetry of pedaling between dominant and non-dominant leg was 19.63% in non-control mode and 1.97% in the control mode. The characteristics of electromyography(EMG) in the lower limbs were also measured. The observation showed that Integrated EMG(IEMG) reduced with the control mode. Therefore, the new bicycle system using MR brake with the real time control of mechanical resistance was found to be effective in recovering the normal pedaling pattern by reducing unbalanced pedaling characteristics caused by disparity of muscular strength between affected and unaffected leg.
Objectives : This research was conducted to find the subjective symptoms of musculoskeletal system for main jobs and job posture. Methods : A survey was conducted from September 15, 2011 to October 7, 2011 and 357 dental hygienists were responded. The survey was consisted of the working environment and medical equipments, psycho-social characteristics, health habits and education, job posture, subjective symptoms of musculoskeletal system pain, and so on. Results : In the survey on the frequency of job posture of dental hygienists by jobs, said they cast down or tilt their head by 15 degrees or more or twist or bend their back. The result of the analysis on the subjective symptoms of musculoskeletal system by main job showed that they experienced a pain in neck, shoulder, and back, although the order differed. The order of subjective symptoms of musculoskeletal system for casting down or turning head by 15 degrees or more, twisting or bending back, having shoulders not parallel to the ground, sitting at the end of a chair, and supporting the whole body with one leg or pressing on a pedal for treatment was from the shoulders to the neck to the back. The order of subjective symptoms of musculoskeletal system for having arms too far from the body or hunching for treatment and bending wrists inward or outward for treatment was from the shoulders to the back to the neck. Conclusions : Due to the characteristics of the job which requires one to have a proper view of a patient's oral cavity, most of the postures included casting down of head or bending of back. Therefore a development of new postures is needed to replace the existing job postures which pressure the musculoskeletal system. And shift rotation can be used as a preventive measure.
