  • 이동망에서 VoIP(Voice over If와 같은 실시간 응용을 지원할 때 고려되어야 할 중요한 이슈는 원활한 핸드오프를 제공할 수 있는 능력이다. 원활한 핸드오프를 위한 중요한 요구사항은 네트워크 링크사이에서 이동호스트가 새로운 망으로 이동시 패킷 손실을 최소로 하는 것이다. 본 논문에서는 MH(Mobile Host)가 새로운 서브넷에서 완전한 등록절차를 끝내는 동안 MH를 대신하여 현재 서브넷상의 라우터가 패킷을 버퍼링하도록 새로운 가변적 버퍼관리기법과 이에 대한 분석을 다룬다. 성능결과는 제안된 핸드오프기반 가변적 버퍼링 기법이 패킷 손실률 측면에서 이동 인터넷 환경에 적당함을 보여주었다.

  • A cellular power amplifier using an APCVD(Atmospheric Pressure Chemical Vapor Deposition)-grown SiGe base HBT of ETRI has been designed with a linear simulation CAD. The Si/SiGe HBT with an emitter area of 2$\times$8${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$$^2$typically has a cutoff frequency(f$_{T}$) of 7.0 GHz and a maximum oscillation frequency(f$_{max}$) of 16.1 GHz with a pad de-embedding A packaged power Si/SiGe HBT with an emitter area of 2$\times$8$\times$80${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$$^2$typically shows a f$_{T}$ of 4.7 GHz and a f$_{max}$ of 7.1 GHz at a collector current (Ic) of 115 mA. The power amplifier exhibits a Forward transmission coefficient(S21) of 13.5 dB, an input and an output reflection coefficients of -42 dB and -45 dB respectively. Up to now the III-V compound semiconductor devices hale dominated microwave applications, however a rapid progress in Si-based technology make the advent of the Si/SiGe HBT which is promising in low to even higher microwave range because of lower cost and relatively higher reproducibility of a Si-based process.ess.ess.

Static Structural Analysis on the Mechanical behavior of the KALIMER Fuel Assembly Duct

  • As fuel burnup proceeds, thermal gradients, differential swelling, and inter-assembly loading may induce assembly duct bowing. Since duct bowing affects the reactivity, such as long or short term power-reactivity-decrement variations, handling problem, caused by top end deflection of the bowed assembly duct, and the integrity of the assembly duct itself. Assembly duct bowing were first observed at EBR-ll in 1965, and then several designs of assembly ducts and core restraint system were used to accommodate this problem. In this study, NUBOW-2D KMOD was used to analyze the bowing behavior of the assembly duct under the KALIMER(Korea Advanced Liquid MEtal Reactor) core restraint system conditions. The mechanical behavior of assembly ducts related to several design parameters are evaluated. ACLP(Above Core Load Pad) positions, the gap distance between the ducts, and the gap distance between the duct and restraint ring were selected as the sensitivity parameter for the evaluation of duct deflection.

모바일 기기를 위한 진동촉각 디스플레이와 선호하는 패턴 생성방법 (A Vibrotactile Display for Hand-held Devices and Its Preferable Pattern Generation Method)

  • In this paper, a vibrotactile pad system, T-mobile, is developed to provide vibrotactile cues for hand-held devices. A grooved and slim design is adapted to the back-side plane of the T-mobile, and the contact part consists of 12 vibrotactile panels which can operate independently and separately. To be isolated among vibrotactile actuators, the surface of the cover is divided into several pieces. Each vibrating module consists of a linear resonant actuator, a section of covering surface, and a vibration isolator. In order to provide spatial and directional information, sensory saltation and phantom sensation are applied to the T-mobile. To evaluate the developed device, two experiments were conducted to test whether directional information and spatial information can be successfully displayed by the device. Additionally, in order to find optimal stimulation by sensory saltation, an empirical test was conducted. As a result, spatial and directional information would be useful for displaying intuitive information for hand-held devices with vibrotactile feedback and reasonable near-optimal value for sensory saltation was obtained.

  • 모바일 기기의 디자인은 제약적인 물리적 조건하에서 이루어지기 때문에, 사용자는 제품을 손으로 만지는 순간부터 제품 혹은 디자인의 물리적 사용성을 평가하게 된다. 근래 사용자들이 모바일를 장시간, 밀착해서 소지/사용하는 행태를 볼 때, 사용 초기에는 물리적 사용성 위주로 제품 사용성을 평가하고 이런 평가 결과는 사용 후반 까지 영향을 미친다. 이런 물리적 사용성에 관해서는 전 연구를 통해 제품 제품 개발 과정에서 모바일 기기의 물리적 사용성 문제 (PUI)가 발생하는 영역과 특성을 정의하였다. 또한, 물리적 사용성 문제가 개발 과정상에서 체크되고 개선 / 반영 하기 위한 하였다. 본 사례 연구에서는 QWERTY 키 패드 모바일 기기를 디자인 하기 위해 물리적 사용성 고려 요소를 평가 하고, 사용자의 인지적 사용성에도 영향을 미치는 물리적 요소를 평가하는 과정을 소개한다. 제품 디자인 전제 벤치마킹/ 컨셉 회의는 의례적으로 이루어 지지만, 사용성 관점에서 디자인시 고려할 요소를 평가하는 과정을 논의하고자 한다. 본 사례 연구 결과 본 연구를 통해 사용자가 느끼는 컨텐츠 만족도를 제외한 모바일 기기의 만족도는 다분히 물리적 사용성 부분에 존재하며 제품 디자인시 물리적 사용성 고려 요소를 조사하고 반영해야 한다는 필수성을 증명하고 있다.

  • 국내 최초로 개발 중인 소형위성발사체인 KSLV-I은 국내 우주발사체 연구개발의 기본 토대로서 개발의 성공여부가 국가우주개발중장기계획을 완수하는데 대단히 중요한 역할을 담당할 것이다. 현재 건설 중인 고흥 우주센터 발사장에는 발사체의 단별조립, 총 조립, 점검, 인증시험 및 발사 사전시험 등을 효율적으로 수행하기 위한 발사체 조립시설, 발사대, 추진제 공급시설, 발사통제시스템 및 부대시설 등의 지상장비를 개발하고 제작, 구축 후 운용할 예정이며 본 논문에서는 발사장 시스템 설계에 대해 제시하였다.

Fragility curves for the typical multi-span simply supported bridges in northern Pakistan

  • Bridges are lifeline and integral components of transportation system that are susceptible to seismic actions, their vulnerability assessment is essential for seismic risk assessment and mitigation. The vulnerability assessment of bridges common in Pakistan is very important as it is seismically very active region and the available code for the seismic design of bridges is obsolete. This research presents seismic vulnerability assessment of three real case simply supported multi-span reinforced concrete bridges commonly found in northern Pakistan, having one, two and three bents with circular piers. The vulnerability assessment is carried through the non-linear dynamic time history analyses for the derivation of fragility curves. Finite element based numerical models of the bridges were developed in MIDAS CIVIL (2015) and analyzed through with non-linear dynamic and incremental dynamic analyses, using a suite of bridge-specific natural spectrum compatible ground motion records. Seismic responses of shear key, bearing pad, expansion joint and pier components of each bridges were recorded during analysis and retrieved for performance based analysis. Fragility curves were developed for the bearing pads, shear key, expansion joint and pier of the bridges that first reach ultimate limit state. Dynamic analysis and the derived fragility curves show that ultimate limit state of bearing pads, shear keys and expansion joints of the bridges exceed first, followed by the piers ultimate limit state for all the three bridges. Mean collapse capacities computed for all the components indicated that bearing pads, expansion joints, and shear keys exceed the ultimate limit state at lowest seismic intensities.

SMA를 이용한 캡슐 내시경의 이동메커니즘 설계 및 제작 (Design and fabrication of the Locomotive Mechanism for Capsule Endoscopes Using Shape Memory Alloys (SMA))

  • Newly commercialized wireless capsule endoscope has many advantages compared to conventional push-type endoscopes. However, it is moved by the peristaltic waves. Therefore, it can not diagnose desired zones actively. In this paper, a locomotive mechanism for wireless capsule endoscope is proposed to increase the efficiency of endoscopy. We designed and fabricated a prototype using SMA springs and bio-mimetic clamping device. The hollow space in the prototype is allocated for further system integration of a camera module, a RF module and a battery. And the sequential control scheme is employed to improve the efficiency of its locomotion. To validate the performance of the locomotive mechanism, experiments on a silicone rubber pad and in vitro tests are carried out. The results of the experiments indicate that proposed mechanism is effective in harsh environments such as digestive organs of a human.

독자적 기술 표준의 성공 사례 연구 : 애플의 아이폰에 관한 전략적 측면을 중심으로 (A Case Study on Proprietary Standard Success : Lessons from Strategic Approaches of Apple's iPhone)

  • Technology standards have gained importance as global market becomes more competitive. Since a technology acknowledged as a standard brings significant benefits to the developer firm, firms in the IT industry tend to pursue standardization for the technology, being it proprietary or open. However, the paths or strategic implications are seldom discussed in academia. Therefore, our study uses iPhone of Apple, one of the proprietary standards successes, to further understand corporate strategies over two standard choices. Our case study suggests that iPhone's entry timing was optimal for creating a new mobile environment. Design excellence and user-friendly interface increased networking effects and switching costs among consumers. Apple developed independent mobile operating system (iOS) through improvement on the existing operating system. During the process, Apple chose proprietary standard and, by installing the same UX on its sibling products such as iPod Touch or iPad, overcame the subsequent problems that might arise from the limited use of iOS. Based on the capability of concurrently developing both hardware and software, Apple connected operating system, machine, and contents, which deems to contribute to its proprietary standards success. We argue that this strategy should be considered for firms which plan proprietary standard strategy.

GSM/CDMA 대역용 LTCC Diplexer 설계 연구 (Study on a LTCC Diplexer Design for GSM/CDMA Applications)

  • 본 논문에서는 LTCC 다층회로 기술을 이용하여 GSM/CDMA 대역을 분리하는 Diplexer를 설계하였다. Diplexer의 집적도를 높이기 위해 3차원 적층형 인덕터와 커패시터를 이용하여 설계되었다. Diplexer는 유전율 7.2인 총 6층의 LTCC 기판에 설계되었고, 설계 되어진 다이플렉서의 크기는 CB-CPW pad를 포함하여 $3,450{\times}4,000{\times}600{\mu}m^3$이다. GSM 대역의 통과 필터는 -0.23dB 이하의 삽입 손실과 -10dB 이하의 반사 손실, CDMA 대역의 통과 필터는 -0.53dB 이하의 삽입 손실과 -10dB 이하의 반사 손실의 특성을 보였다.
