  • Natural wild-type strains of Bacillus subtilis are extensively used in agriculture as biocontrol agents for plants. This study examined two antagonist B. subtilis strains, KB-1111 and KB-1122, and the results illustrated that KB-1122 was a more potent inhibitor of the indicator pathogen than KB-1111. Thus, to investigate the intrinsic differences between the two antagonist strains under normal culture conditions, samples of KB-1111 and KB-1122 were analyzed using MALDI-TOF-MS. The main differences were related to 20 abundant intracellular and 17 extracellular proteins. When searching the NCBI database, a number of the differentially expressed proteins were identified, including 11 cellular proteins and 10 secretory proteins. Among these proteins, class III stress-response-related ATPase, aconitate hydratase, alpha-amylase precursor, and a secretory protein, endo-l, 4-beta-glucanase, were differentially expressed by the two strains. These results are useful to comprehend the intrinsic differences between the antagonism of KB-1111 and KB-1122.

  • Purpose: This study was done to explore factors related to amount of service use for elders with long-term care needs. Methods: A descriptive-correlation design was used. The sample included 259 elders and their primary caregivers who had cared for the elders for at least 6 months. Data on long-term care need assessment, service use and interviews with primary caregivers were analyzed. Results: There was no significant relationship between the sociodemographic characteristics and the amount of services use. Amount of service use differed significantly by Long-term care classification. The mean scores for class 1, 2 and 3 were 22.68, 21.47 and 17.87 days respectively. Primary caregiver relationship with the elders and the number of family-friend helpers were also significant. Multivariate regression analysis showed that gender, marital status, activities of daily living, cognitive impairment, and secondary caregiver support explained 17% of the total variance of service use among these elders (F=3.50, p<.001). Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that critical factors including secondary caregiver support and individual background, and other functional dependencies except for physical function should be considered in accurately predicting the amount of service use for community dwelling elders with long-term care needs.

  • The majority of dyes belong to the chromophoric class known as donor-acceptor systems, the essential structural feature of such systems being the presence of one or more electron donating groups conjugated to one or more electron withdrawing groups via an unsaturated bridge. The indigo molecule may be formally divided into two identical electron donor/acceptor subsystems, each containing an add number of pi electrons, two subsystems being joined by carbon-carbon double bond. Indigoid type dyes which show a strong colour change on protonation or dissociation have many potential functional applications, for example as analytical pH indicators, solvent polarity indicators, and in various imaging and reprographic systems.

  • MHC-I molecules play a critical role in immune surveillance against viruses by presenting peptides to cytotoxic T lymphocytes. Although the mechanisms by which MHC-I molecules assemble and acquire peptides in the ER are well characterized, how MHC-I molecules traffic to the cell surface remains poorly understood. To identify novel proteins that regulate the intracellular transport of MHC-I molecules, MHC-I-interacting proteins were isolated by affinity purification, and their identity was determined by mass spectrometry. Among the identified MHC-I-associated proteins was Tmp21, the human ortholog of yeast Emp24p, which mediates the ER-Golgi trafficking of a subset of proteins. Here, we show that Tmp21 binds to human classical and non-classical MHC-I molecules. The Tmp21-MHC-I complex lacks ${\beta}_2$-microglobulin, and the number of the complexes is increased when free MHC-I heavy chains are more abundant. Taken together, these results suggest that Tmp21 is a novel protein that preferentially binds to ${\beta}_2$-microglobulin-free MHC-I heavy chains.

  • As mentioned above, Korean restaurant's menu price is to be decided by combining various factors. Korean restaurant is demanded to decide menu price more carefully than other restaurants do, because the number of Korean restaurant is the largest in Korea and Korean food is the most popular among the Korean people. Korean restaurant cannot neglect price competitiveness and is often given complaints from its customers. Because of such management difficulties, the number of Korean restaurant has recently decreased at special class hotels as well as common hotels. Korean restaurant managers are demanded to make efforts to inherit Korean tradition and culture by keeping pride and responsibility. Until now, Korean restaurants are thought to decide the menu prices in short-sighted, non-scientific and haphazard way of thinking. Such price decision factors have established traditions and have been generally accepted to let Korean restaurant managers lose carefulness at the menu price decision. In advanced countries, however, they recognized the importance of the price decision since the 1960's or earlier to research the menu price systematically and scientifically. Before deciding the menu prices, Korean restaurant managers are demanded to investigate various kinds of factors carefully and spend a lot of time to calculate direct costs, that is, one of the most important factors of cost calculations. The managers are demanded to decide the menu prices in reasonable and future-oriented way by keeping not private thinking but correct information and judgment. The sale of each menu has difference, while the menu price increase has been evaluated to be successful from overall point of view. Despite of increased total sale, there was not much difference of net profit because of increased material costs. However, higher level of the customers produced comfortable and cozy atmosphere of the restaurant enough to satisfy customers, and improved service quality much more. Not only customer satisfaction but also improved service quality is thought to play an important role in invitation of future customers.

  • Objective: To investigate the three-dimensional (3D) surgical accuracy between virtually planned and actual surgical movements (SM) of the maxilla in two-jaw orthognathic surgery. Methods: The sample consisted of 15 skeletal Class III patients who underwent two-jaw orthognathic surgery performed by a single surgeon using a virtual surgical simulation (VSS) software. The 3D cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) images were obtained before (T0) and after surgery (T1). After merging the dental cast image onto the T0 CBCT image, VSS was performed. SM were classified into midline correction (anterior and posterior), advancement, setback, anterior elongation, and impaction (total and posterior). The landmarks were the midpoint between the central incisors, the mesiobuccal cusp tip (MBCT) of both first molars, and the midpoint of the two MBCTs. The amount and direction of SM by VSS and actual surgery were measured using 3D coordinates of the landmarks. Discrepancies less than 1 mm between VSS and T1 landmarks indicated a precise outcome. The surgical achievement percentage (SAP, [amount of movement in actual surgery/amount of movement in VSS] × 100) (%) and precision percentage (PP, [number of patients with precise outcome/number of total patients] × 100) (%) were compared among SM types using Fisher's exact and Kruskal-Wallis tests. Results: Overall mean discrepancy between VSS and actual surgery, SAP, and PP were 0.13 mm, 89.9%, and 68.3%, respectively. There was no significant difference in the SAP and PP values among the seven SM types (all p > 0.05). Conclusions: VSS could be considered as an effective tool for increasing surgical accuracy.

  • The objective of this study was to investigate slaughtering performance, carcass grade, and quantitative traits of cuts according to seasonal influence by each month in pigs slaughtered in livestock processing complex (LPC) slaughterhouse in Korea, 2017. A total of 267,990 LYD ($Landrace{\times}Yorkshire{\times}Duroc$) pig data were used in this study. Results of slaughter heads, sex distribution, carcass weight, backfat thickness, grading class, total weight, and fat and lean meat percentages of each cut predicted by AutoFom III were obtained each month. The number of slaughtered pigs was the highest in early and late fall but the lowest in midsummer. Only in midsummer that the number of females was higher than that of castrates. During 2017, carcass weight was the lowest in late summer. Backfat thickness was in the range of 21-22 mm. In mid and late spring, pigs showed high 1+ grade ratio (37.05% and 36.15%, respectively). For traits of 11 cuts predicted by AutoFom III, porkbelly showed lower total weight, lean weight, and fat weight in midsummer to early fall but higher lean meat percentage compared to other seasons. Weights of deboned neck, loin, and lean meat were the highest in midfall compared to other seasons (p<0.05). In conclusion, characteristics of slaughtering, grading, and economic traits of pigs seemed to be highly seasonal. They were influenced by seasons. Results of this study could be used as basic data to develop seasonal specified management ways to improve pork production.

  • The Purpose of this study is that self-growth program searches effect self-concept and peer-relationship with elementary school student, and advance following assumption to achieve this purpose and achieved study. First, self-concept point of experiment group students who execute self-growth program will be improved is meaning than self-concept point of control group students. Second, peer-relationship point of experiment group students who execute self-growth program will be improved is meaning than peer-relationship point of control group students. Third, effect that self-growth program gets to self-concept may be meaning difference according to sex. Fourth, difference that impact that self-growth program gets in peer- relationship is meaning according to sex may join. Chose fifth-year student 2 class 68 people (experiment group n=34, control group n=34) in I primary school locating to Jeonrabuk-do Iksan-si to verify above construction for study target. Disposal about experiment group executed over 10th for 60-80 minute 2 times in a week because investigator uses reconstructing self-growth program with virtue research paper such as learning program for own growth of Lee-Hyeong-Deuk (1998). In order to verify the effect after experiment, 1 collected materials for estimation by providing the subject children with questionaires about self-concept and peer-relationship before and after the experiment, and then analyzed the average differences in number of marks between the experiment group and the control group before and after the experiment through and by using One-Way ANOVA, and SPSS 11.0 program. The following is the result what I obtained from the above study. First, there was significant difference is between average difference before and after of experiment group and control group which execute self-growth program in self-concept elevation ($F_{(1,66)} =28.734$, p <.001). From the sub-variable, there was significant difference in academic self ($F_{(1,66)}=6.423$, p<.05), Social Self ($F_{(1,66)}=48.331$, p<.001), Physical Self ($F_{(1,66)}=11.074$, p <.01), sentimental self ($F_{(1,66)}=9.402$, p <.01) Second, there was significant difference is average difference before and after of experiment group and control group which execute self-growth program in peer-relationship promotion ($F_{(1,66)}=24.109$, p <.001). From the sub-variable there W3S Significant difference in trust ($F_{(1,66)}=14.507$, p<.001), respect ($F_{(1,66)}=15.271$, p <.001). Third, there was expose that significant difference does not exist in average self-concept before and after by sex of experiment group which executes self-growth program, and was not shown significant difference in sub-vairable. Fourth, there was expose that significant difference of whole peer- relationship and in respect of sub-variable in average peer-relationship before-after by sex of experiment group which execute self-growth program, but significant difference did not appear in trust. • The present study investigated the biological agents and environmental conditions of the habitats of the Kirengeshoma koreana, a class 2 endangered species class according to the South Korean Ministry of Environment (MOE), elucidated the structural characteristics of the forest stands in the habitats with the importance value and the diversity index, conducted comparative analysis of the factors, and explored their relationship with environmental factors. According to the results of direction analysis of natural habitats of the Kirengeshoma koreana, the direction was distributed to the north or the northeast, and the slope amounted to $15-40^{\circ}$, thus demonstrating that the slope has little effect. In addition, the results showed that the distribution of Kirengeshoma koreana populations dramatically increased starting in areas at least 600 m above the sea level and that the relative light intensity was 3.79% on an average. Most populations were native to gorges and crevices between rocks so that they mainly tended to inhabit areas that could see soil loss in times of precipitation. In addition, a considerable number of the populations were close to hiking trails as well, thus leading to concerns about their artificial destruction. The soil of layer a in the main growth space of the Kirengeshoma koreana was analyzed and turned out to be strongly acidic, measuring pH 4.45-4.89 (average: 4.68). All investigation sections were typical natural broad-leaved tree areas, and, judging from the fact that the Kirengeshoma koreana was most likely to appear in colonies of the Mongolian oak tree (Quercus mongolica Fisch. ex Ledeb.), the Mongolian oak tree seems to be the species of tree that has the greatest effect on the inhabitation of the Kirengeshoma koreana.
