Output Tracking of Uncertain Fractional-order Systems via Robust Iterative Learning Sliding Mode Control

  • This paper develops a novel controller called iterative learning sliding mode (ILSM) to control linear and nonlinear fractional-order systems. This control applies a combination structures of continuous and discontinuous controller, conducts the system output to the desired output and achieve better control performance. This controller is designed in the way to be robust against the external disturbance. It also estimates unknown parameters of fractional-order systems. The proposed controller unlike the conventional iterative learning control for fractional systems does not need to apply direct control input to output of the system. It is shown that the controller perform well in partial and complete observable conditions. Simulation results demonstrate very good performance of the iterative learning sliding mode controller for achieving the desired control objective by increasing the number of iterations in the control loop.

Design of Single-Input Single-Output Positive Position Feedback Controller For the Control of Multiple Modes (다중모드제어를 위한 단일 입출력 양변위 되먹임제어기의 설계)

  • This paper is concerned with the active vibration control of beam equipped with piezoceramic sensors and actuators. The single-input and single-output positive position feedback controller is considered as an active vibration controller for the beam. The proposed single-input and single-output positive position feedback controller can cope with many modes of interest by summing each positive position feedback controller designed for each mode. In this paper, theoretical formulation is first explained in detail. We discuss how to design the single-input and single-output positive position feedback controller for a target structure by considering Euler-Bemoulli beam. It is found that the theories developed in this study are capable of predicting the control system characteristics and its performance.

  • In this paper, we assume that an output sensor of a ball and beam system is coupled with AC measurement noise. We propose an output feedback controller for a ball and beam system under measurement noise of feedback sensor. Measurement noise makes feedback signals distorted, and results in performance degradation or even system failure. Therefore, we need to design a robust controller to accommodate the possible measurement noise in the feedback information. Our controller is equipped with a gain-scaling factor to minimize the effect of measurement noise in output feedback information. We give an analysis of the controlled system and illustrate the improved control performance via simulation and experiment for a ball and beam system.

  • This paper addresses the problem of model matching control for a class of systems modeled as input/output asynchronous sequential machines. Based on the feedback control scheme, we design a corrective controller that compensates the behavior of the closed-loop system so as to match a reference model. Whereas the former studies use state observers and the output burst for designing a controller, the present research needs neither the observer nor the output burst in controller design. We define the 'output equivalent machine' of the considered machine to describe the existence condition and the construction algorithm for the proposed controller. A case study is provided to show the operation of the proposed corrective controller.

  • In this paper, a parameter identification method for a discrete-time linear system using multi-layer neural network is proposed. The parameters are identified with the combination of weights and the output of neuraons of a neural network, which can be used for a linear and a nonlinear controller. An adaptive output tracking architecture is designed for the linear controller. And, the nonlinear controller. A sliding mode control law is applied to the stabilizing the nonlinear controller such that output errors can be reduced. The effectiveness of the proposed control scheme is illustrated through simulations.

  • This paper presents a SISO nonlinear controller for the power system consisting of a synchronous generator connected to an infinite bus. The proposed controller is based on input-output feedback linearization, with a modified version of the terminal voltage equation used as the output. The resulting closed-loop has no internal dynamics, and thus stability is guaranteed. The controller performance is seen to be effective through simulations.

The performance criterion of this controller is the integral of quadratic form of output differences between reference model and controlled system. with this criterion, we can easily compute the output feedback gains using Astrom's algorithm for the integral calculation of quadratic form.

  • This paper presents a robust model reference adaptive controller for continuous-time single-input single-output linear time-invariant systems which are subjected to output-dependent disturbances as well as bounded external disturbances. In the derived controller form, an additional output error feedback term is included to over-ride the destabilizing effects by the output-dependent disturbances.

  • In this paper, the fuzzy output-feedback controller is addressed for a discrete-time nonlinear interconnected systems with common input. The nonlinear interconnected system is represented by a T-S (Takagi-Sugeno) fuzzy model. Based on T-S fuzzy interconnected system, the fuzzy output-feedback controller is designed with common input. The stability condition of the closed-loop system is represented to the LMI (Linear Matrix Inequality) form. PEMFC model is given to show the verification of the controller discussed throughout the paper.
