The power supply rejection (PSR) of low drop-out (LDO) voltage regulator is improved by employing an error amplifier (EA) which is configured so the power supply noise be cancelled at the output. The LDO regulator is implemented in a 0.13-${\mu}m$ standard CMOS technology. The external supply voltage level is 1.2-V and the output is 1.0-V while the load current can range from 0-mA to 50-mA. The power supply rejection is 46-dB, 49-dB, and 38-dB at DC, 2-MHz, and 10-MHz, respectively. The quiescent current consumption is 65-${\mu}A$.

In this paper, we demonstrate a fully integrated X-band image rejection down converter, which was developed using InGaP/GaAs HBT MMIC technology, consists of two single-balanced mixers, a differential buffer amplifier, a differential YCO, an LO quadratue generator, a three-stage polyphase filter, and a differential intermediate frequency(IF) amplifier. The X-band image rejection downconverter yields an image rejection ratio of over 25 dB, a conversion gain of over 2.5 dB, and an output-referred 1-dB compression power$(P_{1dB,OUT})$ of - 10 dBm. This downconverter achieves broadband image rejection characteristics over a frequency range of 1.1 GHz with a current consumption of 60 mA from a 3-V supply.

In order to investigate the significance of "salting-out" and "pore swelling" effects on the nanofiltration of neutral solutes, rejection properties of two NF ceramic and polymeric membranes were studied with single polyethyleneglycol (PEG) solution and mixed PEG/inorganic electrolyte solutions. For both membranes, the rejection rate of PEG was found to decrease significantly in the presence of ions. In the case of the ceramic membrane (rigid pores), this phenomenon was imputed to the sole partial dehydration of PEG molecules induced by the surrounding ions. This assumption was confirmed by the lowering of the PEG rejection rates which followed the Hofmeister series. Experimental data were used to compute the resulting decrease in the Stokes radius of PEG molecules in the presence of the various salts. Concerning the polymeric membrane, the decrease in the rejection rate was found to be systematically higher than for the ceramic membrane. The additional decrease was then ascribed to the swelling of the pores. The experimental data of rejection rates were then used to compute the variation in the mean pore radius in the presence of the various salts. The pore swelling phenomenon due to accumulation of counterions inside pores was supported by electrokinetic charge density measurements.
In this paper, we propose an algorithm on OOV(Out-of-Vocabulary) rejection based on two-stage method. In the first stage, the algorithm rejects OOVs using generic word model, and then in the second stage, for further reduction of false acceptance, it rejects words which have low similarity to the candidate by measuring the distance between HMM models. For the experiment, we choose 20 in-vocabulary words out of PBW445 DB distributed by ETRI. In case that the first stage is processed only, the false acceptance is 3% with 100% correct acceptance, and in case both stages are processed, the false acceptance is reduced to 1% with 100% correct acceptance.
The rejection of sodium chloride (NaCl) and calcium chloride (CaCl2) single salt solutions were carried out for commercial nanofiltration NFDK membrane. Results showed that the NFDK membrane had a negative surface charge and had a higher observed rejection of 93.65% for calcium (Ca2+) ion and 78.27% for sodium (Na+) ions. Prediction of rejection for aqueous solutions of both salts was made using Donnan Steric Pore Model based on Extended Nernst-Planck Equation in addition to concentration polarization film theory. A MATLAB program was developed to execute the model calculations. Absolute Average Relative Error (% AARE) was found below 5% for real rejection of the NFDK membrane. This research could be used successfully to assess the membrane characterization parameter using a proposed procedure which can reduce the number of experiments.
In bird species that suffer brood parasitism, the question about which sex is responsible for egg rejection has important implications for determining the coevolutionary relationship between brood parasites and their hosts. In order to determine which sex rejects a parasitic egg in vinous-throated parrotbills (Paradoxornis webbianus) which have egg color dimorphism, we conducted model egg experiments and video-recorded the behavior of the focal pair. Both sexes showed rejection behavior to the parasitic eggs. It indicates that the vinous-throated parrotbill may have a high rejection rate and faster spread of any rejection alleles through out populations. However, further studies are still needed to confirm the egg recognition mechanism in this species, which will expand our knowledge of the evolutionary relationship between host and parasite.
The present study investigated the construction of the moral concepts of 3-, 4-, and 5- year old Korean children. Instruments were the Maternal Behavior Research Instrument by Schaefer for mother and feather nurturing attitudes, and the Domain Distinctiveness Model for children's moral judgments. Maternal and teacher attitudes were categorized by the affection-rejection factor consisting of affection-affection, affection-rejection, rejection-affection, and rejection-rejection dimensions, and by the permissive, -control factor consisting of permissive-permissive, permissive-control, control-permissive, and control-control dimension. Children's data were collected with an individualized interview in which children were asked to judge moral and social conventional transgression events. 30 children were assigned to each of the maternal/teacher attitude dimensions; thus, there were 120 children for each factor. Results showed that (1) the affection-affection cohort was must strongly related to moral rules using both the seriousness criterion and deserved punishment criterion, and (2) the permissive-permissive cohort was most strongly related to reasoning and action. However, this cohort did not break out of children's structural limitation (limited responses to the intangible).
For speech recognition systems, rejection function as well as decoding function is necessary to improve the reliability. There have been many research efforts on out-of-vocabulary word rejection, however, little attention has been paid on non-target sentence rejection. Recently pronunciation approaches using speech recognition increase the need for non-target sentence rejection to provide more accurate and robust results. In this paper, we proposed filler model method and word/phoneme detection ratio method to implement non-target sentence rejection system. We made performance evaluation of filler model along to word-level, phoneme-level, and sentence-level filler models respectively. We also perform the similar experiment using word-level and phoneme-level word/phoneme detection ratio method. For the performance evaluation, the minimized average of FAR and FRR is used for comparing the effectiveness of each method along with the number of words of given sentences. From the experimental results, we got to know that word-level method outperforms the other methods, and word-level filler mode shows slightly better results than that of word detection ratio method.
In this paper, we propose a technique to improve Out-Of-Vocabulary(OOV) rejection algorithms in variable vocabulary recognition system which is much used in ASR(Automatic Speech Recognition). The rejection system can be classified into two categories by their implementation method, keyword spotting method and utterance verification method. The utterance verification method uses the likelihood ratio of each phoneme Viterbi score relative to anti-phoneme score for deciding OOV. In this paper, we add speaker verification system before utterance verification and calculate an speaker verification probability. The obtained speaker verification probability is applied for determining the proposed variable-confidence threshold. Using the proposed method, we achieve the significant performance improvement; CA(Correctly Accepted for keyword) 94.23%, CR(Correctly Rejected for out-of-vocabulary) 95.11% in office environment, and CA 91.14%, CR 92.74% in noisy environment.

An air-gap type FBAR was designed using Leach equivalent model for analyzing a vertical structure of the FBAR. For the top electrode, Pt, and the bottom electrode, Au, of $1.2{\mu}m$ thickness and the piezoelectric of 0.8,urn thickness, the resonance and anti-resonance occurred at 2.401 GHz and 2.460 GHz, respectively. $S_{11}$ was increased and $S_{21}$ was decreased as the resonance area of FBAR was widened. We observed the characteristics of insertion loss, bandwidth and out-of-band rejection of ladder-type FBAR BPF by changing resonance areas of series and shunt resonators and by adding stages. As the resonance area of series resonator was increased, insertion loss was improved but out-of-band rejection was degraded. And as the resonance area of shunt resonator was increased, insertion loss was degraded a little but out-of-band rejection was improved even without adding stages. We, also, changed the shape of the resonance area from square shape to rectangle shape to examine the effects of the resonator shape on the characteristics of the BPF. The best performances were observed when the sizes of series and shunt resonator are $150{\mu}m{\times}l50{\mu}m\;and\;5{\mu}m{\times}50{\mu}m$, respectively. Out-of-band rejection was improved about 10dB and bandwidth was broadened from 30MHz to 100MHz utilizing inductor tuning on $2{\times}2\;and\; 4{\times}2$ ladder-type BPFs.
